We've been visiting for years, and like (love) the location, very walkable to everywhere yet not on a noisy or busy corner. The rooms have heating that works ( something strange to write if you have not yet experienced most simple lodgings in south america), and it's nice that they say the profits of Ecole go to fund ecological reserves.... I've stayed at Ecole a few time but this was my first time in a dorm room and I have to say the private rooms with en-suite bathrooms are definitely much nicer than the dorm rooms with shared bathrooms. I found the shared bathrooms to be a bit grotty/dirty; yes they are cleaned daily but they really need a deep... More

Though its presented as the place to be in Pucon according to several guides, it's an average hostel with a kind of hippie flair. The most annoying thing was the treatment by parts of the staff. Our reservation did obviously get lost, so when we arrived our room was not available. The woman didn't put any effort in solving the... More

Arriving at the hostel wet and miserable we were greeted by a wood burning stove and incredibly friendly staff. The rooms are small but cozy, the beds piled high with blankets. Everything is clean. The common area is in the restaurant downstairs and there is no kitchen for guest use but that wasn't a problem as the restaurant is cheap... More

I stayed here with my two daughters and had the best time ever. The rooms were decorated so nicely and cheery. The restaurant was amazing and it was the hostel was a great location to get anywhere in Pucon. The staff was so helpful and went above and beyond to make our trip effortless and disaster free. We would definitely... More

We stayed in a very small double room (admittedly their cheapest) and both the room and private bathroom were really clean. The location is great - short walk to the main bars/restaurants, but nice and quiet. We found the evening staff helpful and multilingual, but you'll need some Spanish for the day staff. Main downside was the noise between rooms... More

This is a great travelers hosteria a block out of the busy area of shops and eateries, so you are close for walking, but still quiet. The cool traveler ambiance, friendly staff, and comfortable common area and restaurant make this a great lodging choice to meet lots of other travelers. Very economical for Pucon. The restaurant serves vegetarian dishes that... More

You don't feel very welcome when you arrive at the hosteria Ecole! Some people who work there at the desk can be very unfriendly. If you don't speak or understand well "Chilean" spanish, good luck! I still don't understand why their website is available also in French and English as nobody at the desk really speaks those languages except the... More

It's cozy, especially the common area. It has OK location. Stuff is OK. We are all warned by Lonely Planet that it's not really friendly to the self-catering, but still, it is a hostel where people doing excursions stay and make their sandwiches. One common fridge and microwave would not influence my decision to eat or not to eat at... More

I read some of the reviews and it makes me think people forgot they were checking into a hostel. With that said, you can't beat what this place offers. Great location, good food, lively crowd and it was affordable. I felt like I was at a funky restaurant/home in Venice, CA. I thought it was great!
