I love this small hotel. It's affordable yet so convenient if you want to go around the city. It's near a milk tea house that serves one of the best milk teas I've ever tried!:D I also love the lobby's scent. It's so clean and refreshing.:)

Had an amazing stay at this hotel, which is conveniently located around 5-10 min walk from the Paya Lebar MRT station, as well as similar distance away from 2 other malls. There are many eateries as well as supermakets and convenience stores around the hotel, which makes this hotel very ideal for travellers who want to seek local flavours. Check-in...

My sister and I stayed here friendly staff, great value for money, nice cultural location and looks exactly like the pictures on the website. The rooms can be a little noisy but only when other guests are disrespectful to others, and making lots of unnecessary noise but this can not be helped by the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...

Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Walls are very thin and some big tour groups were being very noisy in the corridors. Would not recommend if you're a light sleeper. Not very central but lots of food options nearby and 10mins walk to mrt. Cheap compared to other hotels in Singapore but would definitely stay elsewhere next time.

Hotel is very clean. That's all I really ask for when staying somewhere and they didn't disappoint. There is a restaurant like one shop down the street where the hotel has a sort of deal with: get your breakfast voucher from the hotel reception and just give it to the restaurant cashier. Makes for a good brekkie before taking a...

If you want a hotel with paper thin walls, guests who are making constant noise, either in their rooms are by running through the halls, bathrooms filled with flies, and staff who couldn't care less, then this is the place for you! This place was so badly built, you can hear EVERYTHING that is going on in both the hallways...

This hotel is great for those who want a nice and comfortable stay in Singapore. The location was easy to get to and most taxi drivers knew where it was. The hotel has many small stores nearby to buy anything you need in case you forgot something at home. Free wifi, free adaptors for plugs, and very friendly staff. Enjoyed...

Stayed in this hotel several times, the staff are friendly and always smiley. The location of this hotel is not so convenient if you are not driving. Apart from that, it's surrounded with many eatery and a supermarket is just opposite. The room is clean and fresh. Basic amenities in the bathroom. If you have children, they have cartoon theme...

Nice clean room, good shower and comfy bed. The location is pretty good with shops and eating places all around and a 30 min walk to the sea. Wifi is pretty bad though which is the only down side so far. There is a safe in the room and a small fridge which is a nice touch

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighbourhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighbourhood is packed with colourful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
