Sandpiper Hotel very helpfully accommodated me during a long daytime stopover in Singapore. They allowed me the option to check in early in the morning and check out in the early evening at a reasonable price. The hotel was clean and quiet. It is very well located close to Jalan Besar MRT with many restaurants and shops close by. Overall, a great choice.

Simple and easy accommodation my preferred hotel to stay at when I feel like going for a short getaway.
This place provides simple and convenient transportation the Rochor MRT is less than 1 minute walk. They do not provide coffee and tea sachet but you can get fresh tea and coffee at the door steps as plenty of eateries are available. Try to make direct booking on their website as going thru online agent will complicate your reservation with all the misinterpreting information. See you guys again soon. :)

Accommodations were exactly what was needed. Location is in the middle of Little India with lots of restaurants, activities and shopping. All transportation 2 blocks away Rocher Station. Perfect for using all forms of transportation. Awesome customer service! Mr Rohit was always very accommodating to me and my husband needs as well as flight delays. We were flying separately and both our flights arrived super late at different times. Rohit was very attentive to all our needs and helpful with information on festivals being conducted which help enhance making our trip superb! Jasmin was always available to answer our questions thru the airbnb platform and in a timely manner with no wait! Awesome hotel, awesome food and an awesome 2 week Holiday!!! 😀

So, things started out positively, we arrived at the hotel and we got a free room upgrade. Great! We were on a business trip so weren’t expecting the best of hotels but were thankful to be given a room with a window.
As soon as we opened the door to our room things then went downhill…Long story short—it was disgusting. I immediately asked for our sheets to be changed because they were covered in miscellaneous stains (and I’m not even the type to complain when I’m given the wrong dish at a restaurant). The staff member replaced the sheets, and then asked if the new ones were ‘good enough’…they just had fewer stains than before. I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping under the sheets for our whole stay because of this. The towels were no better—they smelled unwashed and were covered in brown and red stains. The room overall smelled damp and unclean.
It also seemed like the place hadn’t been hoovered or cleaned in a long time. I dropped something under the bed and wish I didn’t look—it was covered in hairs, old lids of food containers and pieces of food. There were holes in some of the furniture and stains on others. Instead of soap there was ‘shampoo and body wash’, so I had to buy some actual hand soap to ensure it was safe to put in my contact lenses.
Please look through ALL of the reviews here before booking. I have no idea how this is a three star hotel. The photos I have attached are the ‘clean’ bed sheets as I was too shocked before to take more pictures.
I can’t believe the lack of hygiene practices at this hotel

Hospitality at its worst! We had a very unpleasant experience in this Hotel during our 3 day stay at Singapore. The following are some of our experiences. 1. When I wanted to reconfirm my Booking, over long distance telephone, (which was already made with full payment), the lady at the Reception, said that she was too busy to take my call and would not even give a one sentence reply, which I earnestly pleaded. 2. When we checked in , the Receptionist Mr. Rohit rudely demanded a 100 Dollar deposit, which he said would be refunded only if the Bedsheets were not stained etc and other silly reasons. (What a way to respect a guest!) 3. We requested that our small water Bottle needed to be filled up. Mr. Rohit ( and the other lady, who seemed to be the only people manning the place), curtly refused saying that they have a policy of not filling up guest water Bottles. (We had asked only for Drinking water to be filled up, and not Bottled water. They also give only filled up water in the room.) 4. We were asked to check out by 11 am and we requested for grace time till 12 noon. By this time, we were harshly reminded 3 times that we should check out immediately. 5. The rooms are too cramped and we have to pay 50 dollars extra for a room with a very small window. 6. There were no telephones in the room. We were also informed that the Hotel would be totally unmanned from midnight to 6 am., and we have to fend for ourselves. 7. The worst part of our experience, was that Mr. Rohit and the lady tried to talk sweet words , as we were boarding the taxi for the Airport and in fact requested a favourable review. What HYPOCRISY! 8. During our entire 3 days stay, we experienced extreme unhelpfulness and rudeness from the staff. 9. The only advantage of the Hotel, is its proximity to the MRT and eating areas. Jaya Pradeep, Kodaikanal-India.

Hello Jaya Pradeep J.S, Thank you very much for your review. We will address it point to point. 1. No confirmation is required as your booking has a confirmation number. We will not inform we are busy instead, we have requested you to call back as we are engaged with guest. For any reconfirmation, please send an email due to data privacy, we are not allowed to release any information over the phone. 2.The instruction of $100 cash deposit is written on the make my trip content. We did not demand, we are just doing what is required on the policy. 3.Water Jar is available in the room, if you need to top up you can top up from your water jar. We only do once top up of water jar. We do not refill any personal water bottle. Just like when you visit any cafe or restaurant nobody will top up your personal water bottle. 4.Reference to your late check, in our records you have check out 12pm with no additional charges. Do note that there should be a charge of $20.00 however, we have waived if off. We are just calling to remind you but your consistent 15 mins was never here hence, explained why we keep calling. 5. You have requested for an upgrade after viewing the picture. All room sizes are stated on the Make my trip storefront. If you need a bigger room with more leg space, you can choose our deluxe family room with that said the fees for top up will be more. 6. Earlier on you mentioned we contacted you 3 times to check out, hence, please advise where was the phone. We do not encourage fasle review. 7. We do not sweet talk to any guest. We asked if your stay was an enjoyable one, you replied yes hence, we request for a review. The word which you used to us applies back. Should you be unhappy with your stay you should have highlighted your concerns so we can look into it instead of writing long reviews which no body can assist you in order for you to have a more enjoyable stay. I recently had a disappointing experience with the Sandpiper Hotel at 63 Dunlop Street, Singapore, which caused significant stress and inconvenience. I’m sharing this as a warning to other travelers. I booked a week-long stay, expecting payment to be taken upon arrival as per the terms. However, shortly after booking, the hotel unexpectedly requested an alternative payment method, despite my use of a reliable credit card. I complied, only to find my card was charged before arrival—contrary to the agreed terms. Worse still, my attempts to contact the hotel for clarification were ignored, leaving me no choice but to cancel my reservation. Despite repeated follow-ups, the hotel has not refunded the charge, showing a lack of accountability that feels harassing and exploitative. This incident is a stark contrast to Singapore’s reputation for integrity and hospitality. If you’re considering Sandpiper Hotel, exercise caution, verify payment terms, and be prepared for potential communication issues. This experience is an unfortunate exception in such a beautiful country.

Hello 888shekharj, Thank you for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with Agoda. Please note that it was clearly stated that a prepayment of the total reservation price could be charged at any time. We recommend contacting Agoda for further clarification. We have verified that all your inquiries were responded to. Additionally, please note that you did not show up for your reservation, and it was not canceled. Integrity is important on both sides. We advise reading all terms and conditions carefully before booking and honoring them accordingly. Thank you. Sandpiper Hotel Singapore

This is a hotel we would not return to. Front of house staff were quite abrupt and what they refer to as a deluxe room was more like a bunker. We had asked for a double bed but on the first night were placed in a twin bed room with very little space. The standard of cleaning was low and although the location was great, being in the heart of Little India, I am sure there are other hotels which offer better service and value in the area. There is no restaurant so if you opt for B&B, you will be eating in a local café which was quite grubby. Staff did become more helpful as time went on, but the initial reception was very rushed and we felt as if we were putting them out and taking up their time rather than feeling warmly welcomed.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days & that was my worst experience. The front desk man was very rude, I think his name was Rohit, I checked out at 11am & asked him that I could wait here till my cab comes but he didn't let me wait there, I mean what kind of hospitality is this, who does that❓❓No room service, no jet spray in the toliet, non working telephone in the room, no shared lounge, no tea & coffee amenities & on the other hand, for the breakfast, you have to eat outside of the hotel in the scorching sun with 🪰on top of that, the time of beakfast was 8am & the chef served the meal at 9am plus the breakfast was very insipid, gross🤢. This hotel has soo many loopholes, they don't know the proper way to function, they should shut down this HOTEL asap.

Hello Curious61504416147, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had during your stay with us. Your comments are very concerning, and we are committed to addressing each of the issues you mentioned. Firstly, we are sorry to hear about the interaction with our front desk staff. Please note that we believe it was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, as it is an open area where you are free to wait for your pick-up. Regarding the room amenities and services, we apologize for the inconvenience. It is important to note that the room amenities were already mentioned on our storefront, and we urge you to read it properly to avoid any unhappiness. We also regret that your breakfast experience was unsatisfactory. We understand the importance of a pleasant dining experience and will work with our kitchen staff to improve the quality. On a side note, please be on time for your breakfast as at 8 am there will not be any sun, and it will be good if you come on time for breakfast. Hello Curiosity03834597518, This is NOT a genuine REVIEW. Full of nonsense. We doubt this guest stayed with us. Service is just a phone call away for all guests in our hotel. Please have courage to identify yourself. AT ALL TIMES, We are in the business of serving our guests and keeping them happy. We attend to requests and complaints very quickly. We encourage guests to book directly with the hotel. For those who book through agents we recommend them send email or call us prior to arrival date listing any special need of early arrival or extra children etc. This step will smoothen their experience upon arrival and during stay. The hotel makes extra effort to accommodate all requests instantly. Thank you. Sandpiper Hotel Singapore

It started with a bad check in experience and got worse. Arrived late afternoon, front door was locked and could see through the glass doors that nobody was there. After about 20 minutes someone came from out the back, opened the door and did the check in. Interestingly they wanted a bond payment but don’t offer mini bar or other expense items to justify a bond. Once I got to the room it was as expected small but the disgusting filth was awful. The housekeeper clearly does a quick sweep but nothing more as the build up of disgusting hair and dirt etc in the corners and behind things was horrible. Adding to the horrible experience was the plastic coated bed which the sheets constantly slide off. If you want a terrible night sleep then book this hotel.
It was a disgusting experience and I won’t go back.

Hello Nomad_1G, I appreciate your latest evaluation very much. There are contact details for immediate assistance on the entrance glassdoor. Only registered house guests get access with entry via a key for security reasons. Given that we have other glass and breakable objects in the room the cash deposit is required to protect incidentals, collecting an incidental does not mean for minibar items and please note we do not provide any snacks. The cash deposit will be returned upon an inspection on check out date. It's important to note that room sizes are displayed on the storefront so that you can choose and consider it before making a reservation instead of looking at the price point. We also have larger rooms if that's what you prefer. We will make sure to remind our housekeeping to keep an eye out for covered corners and edges. If our efforts fell short this time, we apologise. Actually, the plastic covering is a mattress cover. If you encountered discomfort, I apologise. For a more comfortable stay, you can let us know so we can add a layer of soft mattress pad. We are sorry for your bad experience, if you had inform us it could be rectified immediately. Thank you. Sandpiper Hotel Singapore
