I enjoyed my stay at Prince of Wales. It's in a great location in little india and close to an MRT station. They have live music on the weekends, the bar gets pretty lively lots of locals come to enjoy the music. I always felt safe there and safe leaving my luggage. The bathroom situation wasn't ideal; two toilets in...

The Prince of Wales backpackers is in Little India and in great spot. The place itself is clean and tidy with six bunk beds per room section that has air conditioners at night. It is well worth the stay for the price. The caution is that there is limited toilet and shower facilities that can be accessed by the beer...

After visiting Little India in the afternoon, we stopped in at the Prince of Wales for a much deserved cold beer, well two or three! A nice little backpacker pub which provided reasonably priced crown lagers. We sat in the back beer garden and enjoyed our cool drinks on a hot evening. An interesting bar façade from the beer garden,...

I go to Prince of Wales in Little India around once a month, to catch up with friends over a couple of beers. I have not stayed at the accommodation so can't review that but the pub is good fun. Good Aussie and Kiwi beers on tap, and great service. The staff are always friendly and look after you well....

We looked high and low for accommodation in Singapore, and I believe this is one of the best places to be. The location is right in Little India amongst brilliant eating houses, and so close to all transport. The separate rooms are the go if there is a few of you, otherwise bunk up in the dorm. The staff are delightful, really...

I only had time for the pub, not the accommodation that evening. Hot and sultry Singapore and a taxi ride from the city, out to the heart of 'Little India'. If you are in need of a shot of Bundy rum or a classic Aussie beer perhaps, this is the place to hide out. It's relatively low cost for Singapore...

Very charming pub and backpacker's place right at the heart of Little India. Try going for one of the private rooms which let's you share a semi-private bathroom. Air-conditioning took a while to kick in and I was disturbed the first day for certain repairs to the compressor. The Darwin room apparently is also where some plumbing controls are, so...

Like the name indicates, Prince of Wales caters to backpackers. The drinks are on the cheaper side (S$7.00 for a shot of whiskey), the service is friendly (except that they start asking you for money as soon as they've poured your drink) and the place is surrounded by good inexpensive Indian eateries.

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
