On behalf of our church, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff of YWCA. You make an excellent team!! The management staff, office, hospitality and backend team were very proficient and professional. The staff are very proactive and they would go the extra mile to help us in any way that they can. Our church and myself were very impressed with how the team work so cohesively. Well done everyone! Thank you for making this event possible and a memorable one for us! A BIG “Thank You” to: Michelle, Eric, Johnny, Hou Man, Kelvin, Dickson, Daniel and all the staff who has supported us throughout the event. On behalf of IBC Yvonne Chan Children’s Ministry Director
This is the 6th or so visit for us to splendid Singapore. Usually I stay in a midmarket hotel at some distance to the centre, as the MTR brings you anywhere fast and we get good rooms there, with pool, between USD 100-120/night. This time I was with a family member with slight walking impairment, hence wanted to be close to Orchard Road centre and choose YWCA Fort Canning Lodge. Of course based on the info we knew it was no 4 star (unlike Fort Canning hotel on the other side of the park), but everything proved more underwhelming than promised. Especially as it was a more expensive 'Executive' room, not the 'Superior'. It was not much more than a basic guesthouse room, not spacious at all. Bathroom badly designed, the floor (leaking into the room itself) was flooded within 2 minutes. Breakfast (set menu) very little choice in Asian food, only continental. Did not use the pool. Service at check-in okay, we arrived 10 and had the room at noon. Check-out was worse, as the keys were disabled at 11 AM despite us having paid for a late check-out (6 PM); reception fixed it, luckily. For this budget, next time we'd pick a decent hotel in nearby Bencoolen Street area, generally better value for money than YWCA, or a midmarket one again in e.g. Little India. The sole positive thing of Fort Canning Lodge is the location, for the rest it's just a no-frills guesthouse wanting to be a hotel.…
I find the decor is nice and modern for stay and big group gathering. The room is big and comfortable. Minus one star because housekeeping could be understaffed and not able to deliver water bottles to room as promised.
Thank you for hosting us for our first Shekinah prayer retreat. The room is very clean and the environment is very conducive for resting. We had a time here. The food is good at the cafe. The chicken chop is impressively tender. Thank you for having us and God bless.
The manager Ms Vicky and the front desks were very friendly and helpful. Their help to fix our booking error is extraordinary. The manager itself even offer an extra hand to carry our things and walked with us to our designated room. Room we stayed is very spacious, quite, amazing view of the Fort Canning hotel/park and clean linens. Ms Vicky even call us to make sure we are okay minutes after we settled in the room. I will definitely recommend this property and will certainly go back again in future. The service is superb, deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hotel location was convenient, has a connector to Dhoby Ghaut MRT. Building and interior was old, swimming pool was decent although didn't have towels. Service could be better. Requested for extra towels and pillows multiple times. Receptionist (Vicky) kept saying had to check with housekeeping but never did and never gave what was requested. Understand that it might not be available, but an update and effort to accommodate would be nice. Staff wouldn't pick up the phone either. Room was a little dusty, and had a slight unpleasant smell. Wouldn't come back honestly.
Had to move out temporarily and chose this quiet, clean and efficient hotel. It is no frills - only the essentials done very well. Staff is helpful. Location is unbeatable - there are not many places in Singapore at the moment insulated by construction noise.
We recently had a "semi staycation" here as we attended an event at nearby church. It was quite obvious that this hotel is not the popular choice for staycation, considering that it's not crowded during the local school term holiday. However it turns out to be a pleasant stay as well. Mr Luke at the front office was friendly and helpful. Our (very) spacious family room has one king bed + one single bed. It's nothing fancy, but it's very clean and has the essential necessities (like safe deposit box, water kettle, toiletries, etc). Swimming pool has reasonably good size, but do note that it closes at 6pm, and there are swimming school students during the afternoon time (not sure if it's just Weekend). The restaurant (Cafe Lodge) has good food with generous portions and very reasonable price. However serving time is a bit slow, likely because of limited staff due to low occupancy of the hotel (just my guess). But the staff are trying hard to provide good service, and one of the young girl, SuJin, was literally running around to attend to the guests ASAP. And not to forget that the spendings in the Cafe actually goes to social cause. So please be patient with them. Another convenience is that there is a room full of vending machines if you ever need food, drink, even powerbank rental. If anything to nitpick, two things I would love them to improve are: 1) aircond noise is a bit loud in the room. 2) only one rubbish bin is provided. Normally you get one in the toilet and one in the bedroom. All in all, if you want to have low cost staycation, with convenient location to explore Fort Canning Park and National Museum of Singapore, give it a try. …
Very good service, staff are very friendly and helpful. Oragnizer is always there to help and respond to all enquires. Food is tasty and great. Banquet room is nice and cozy with a great view during day time! Tea served during tea ceremony is good as most of my families loved it! The room provided is cozy and great. Perfect for couples! View is nice from the room can see the fort canning park with no blockages. Location is easy to navigate from dohby ghaut station too. Highly recommended!
We enjoyed our retreat at YWCA. Thankful to Johnny and the team for making our retreat a success! :) YWCA is near fort canning park and dhoby ghaut, it is very good for morning walks and easy access to town.
