Visited the hotel for a drink. The Long Bar was being refurbished so the Billiard Room was open for drinks. The atmosphere was vibrant with a lovely cozy atmosphere and as expected lots of peanut shells were being dropped onto the floor ! Great if you enjoy peanuts you have a large sac of them to each table ! Drinks...

I usually go for boutique hotels, but I couldn't pass up a chance for a stay at the Raffles. This property is so classic and elegant, and really makes you feel like you are living back in the British colonial times. Everything has been so well looked after, and you will see especially in the rooms. They only allow hotel...

This is the place for a famous Singapore Sling in Singapore. I must say the bar is beautiful and the Singapore Slings are outrageous priced at $39.00++ but that's what you came for right? Just to be in the Hotel and experience the ambiance is worth every penny! Dollar!!!

This historic and amazing hotel is a place that you ABSOLUTELY must experience if you're in Singapore. I stayed here on business, and only for 2 nights, but I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Singapore. If for no other reason, you need to experience the birthplace of the Singapore Sling. Sitting at the historic bar,...

I always dreamed of staying here since I first saw the hotel 25yrs ago. I wasn't disappointed. It is a beautiful hotel. A real piece of history. The staff were incredible, helpful, friendly and unobtrusive. Gave us champagne and a huge bunch of orchids for our room. Rooms are beautiful, big and classy. Breakfast divine with a huge choice. Pool...

Colonial style suite was fantastic. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Very good varied fresh choice for buffet breakfast. Got to try a Singapore sling cocktail as this is where they were created. Piano player in the reception area. If you are going to stay anywhere in Singapore make it the Raffles

This is without doubt the best service I have ever experienced anywhere! I'll be back whenever I'm in Singapore. The hotel is under renovation now but, it makes little difference unless, your Raffles experience is dependant on the Long Bar experience. It's still that Raffles Tradition & Service. An experience like Raffles is Pricy but, the Raffles quality is worth...

We were in Singapore for the weekend and saw that Raffles is celebrating its 130th birthday. Dinner for two in the Tiffin room is $130, so we booked. The service was fantastic, the waiter explained all the dishes and kept bringing out chef specials to try, the choices are brilliant. There was no rush and the history was explained along...

I didn't stay in the hotel. I did have a world famous Sling, but not at the long bar and I didn't manage to put my nutshells on the floor either! It was mid February 2017 The Long bar was being renovated which happens, soooo I was only a little disappointed ... After half an hour waiting in line I...

Dear Andreas M, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience here with us. I am glad to hear that like many world travellers, you enjoyed the taste of our iconic Singapore Sling, first concocted here in 1915. The unique practice of throwing the peanut shells on the floor is a 100 year old tradition adapted from...

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
