I arrived in Singapore on the 17th October at Midnight and checked into the Mandarin hotel right away. The hotel staff told me

Very comfortable bed and definitely worthwhile upgrading so that you get a high floor with amazing views. The rooms on the higher floors have also been updated and are really first class. Great location right on Orchard Rd with a million shops in either direction.

Generally ok with the hotel stay - it was part of a deal I purchased through Webjet. However music playing late at night locally made for an unsound sleep. The disappointment was with the staff recommendations for a tourist in town - I asked 3...More

It is rated as the five star hotel but the rooms are of a lower standard. The main hall and the reception area looks good but rooms make you feel like you are in staying at a 3 star hotel.

Shopping is a national pastime for Singaporeans, and after a visit to Orchard Road it’s easy to see why. This seemingly endless boulevard boasts a dizzying selection of shopping centres. From bargain basement foragers to designer label big-spenders, there is something for everyone. For those just browsing, there are countless restaurants, food courts, and cinemas, as well as the odd street entertainer to keep you
amused. Most of the malls are connected by underground walkways, offering a break from the sun on a hot day. Bring a credit card and some comfortable shoes, and plunge into the excitement.

Hi. I did not stay in a delux room, but my understanding is that this is their budget room, very likely unrenovated and doubt if there is a lounge. We stay in connecting superior delux rooms. These are on a higher floor, they are renovated (not recent), there is no sofa, but certainly each room has space, has a desk and chair. I thought ok for my family of four, with 2 connecting rooms. I assume Premier which is their best offering would have the sofa, has a guaranteed higher floor, not sure of price difference.
