Nestled in the heart of the city, the InterContinental Singapore earns accolades for its prime location near vibrant shopping, dining, and convenient MRT access. Guests lavish praise on the luxurious amenities, including the celebrated Club Lounge and the delectable breakfast offerings, despite occasional remarks about certain areas needing improvement. The hotel's rooms are widely commended for their cleanliness and comfort, with a few guests noting some are on the smaller side or appear slightly dated.
Service at the hotel is often described as impeccable, with a staff that's both friendly and professional, ensuring stays are memorable. The atmosphere is characterized by a sophisticated blend of elegance and local culture, with festive decorations enhancing the hotel's colonial charm. While most guests perceive the hotel as a good value, offering quality dining and accommodations, a few express concerns regarding the cost of specific services.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
My wife, 4 year old son had a blast at Intercon Singapore. Their hospitality is fantastic from the moment you walk in. The hotel is beautiful and is one of the oldest buildings. The lounge is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed the high tea and evening drinks. One of the amazing things was when their head butler, Mr. shrish saw my son coloring his PJ mask and then next day he did a beautiful sketch. My son loved the gift and these small things and the efforts do matter. Their breakfast is amazing as well. Overall, excellent stay and amazing service.

We stayed two nights in a club floor room on level 14 with access to breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails in the club floor lounge on level 2 – a real treat and relaxing as well.
The bed is one of the best I ever slept in including a very well working AC and windows are well isolated facing the busy Middle Road/North Bridge Road.
Bathroom is in beige marble, clean and fresh with a rather small shower room and lemon scented amenities.
We had a buffet lunch at the restaurant Ash & Elm located in the hotel – highly recommended. Lots a salads, fresh bread, cold hors d'oeuvres and two different warm soups and a irresistible dessert table for approx. 28 SGD/person (20% discount if you’re an IHG member). If you want you can add a main course for additional 10 SGD
.
Haji Lane and Arab Street is just 750 meter away from the hotel (a must see) and don’t forget to pay a visit to the ATLAS Gin Bar on your way back – this famous bar (No. 8th in the world of best bars 2019) with more than 1.000 different kinds of gin and an interior that’s stunning and literally jaw dropping.
The Spectra light show outside Marina Bay Shoppes (for free – 15 mins long) is worth a visit – look at their website for the schedule. We were there 30 minutes in advance (for the 20.00 o’clock show) and the seating area (wooden deck) was already half full. Afterwards almost everybody walked into the Shoppes, via an escalator into the Marina Bay Sands hotel and onwards to the Gardens By the Bay and the light show.

Dear cajsawarg2016, Thank you for choosing to stay at InterContinental Singapore, and for taking the time to share your review on TripAdvisor. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, in particular the well-appointed guest room, the delectable semi-buffet lunch at Ash & Elm, and the exclusive Club InterContinental lounge with its privileges including three culinary presentations daily, personalised check-in and check-out service, and a dedicated Club InterContinental Concierge team- all of which I trust you enjoyed. The fact that I enjoyed a favourable rate was not the only reason I decided to extend my stay for another night. It was also because of the hotel’s location, its architecture and the service rendered by the team members.
After being given a warm welcome by the concierge and reception desks’ team members, I felt sure that my stay would be great. The room I was assigned to was fantastic on all counts. It was spacious and had plush furnishings and the bed was so comfortable I found myself refusing to get out of it.
Do note that you have to book a slot for the use of the pool, and weekend breakfast slots must be strictly adhered to. The team member who checked me in assisted with the bookings.
Breakfast is served at Ash & Elm on the first floor. Once again, this hotel has adapted well to the present situation. Guests are asked to sanitise their hands whilst waiting in line, before being shown to their tables. A menu card is handed to you and one gets to chose one of four breakfast sets. Service rendered is impeccable. I love how Anne, the Director of Food & Beverage, introduced herself and said to call upon her if I needed anything during my stay.
Now that is top-notch hospitality service, as with everything else in this hotel.

Decided to do a staycation at Intercon Singapore. As one of the Platinum Ambassador, had a free upgrade to another level of suite.
Somehow I feel that overall the hotel seems to have staff shortage issue.
Whenever we request for anything, it always take quite a long while before items were sent to the room. Sometimes I had to even call back to check how come the items are still not been sent.
As the intercontinental club lounge is closed, beeakfast, afternoon tea were served at Ash & Elm and evening cocktails over at the Lobby Lounge. The wait each time really needs improvement.
On one of the breakfast, there was even a strand of hair that I actually pulled out from the hash brown that I had put into my mouth. Immediately I told one of the staffs and appreciated that she offered to have the plate replaced and also the chef came over to apologised sincerely. I totally understand the tough job of all service staffs. Thus must really compliment most of the staffs are still putting on a smile despite been so busy.
Another disappointment was the sofa bed blanket was soiled and my daughter felt itchy after sleeping on it. I went to the front desk to request for change but after a long wait had to call the operator to check before they sent somebody to change it.
I had also requested for room cleaning but nobody came after 2 hours and I had to call for fresh towels because we were waiting to take our shower. When housekeeping sent over the towels, he saw the light for room cleaning was still turned on and asked if we wanted them to do it. That was already almost 3pm and we actually pressed on the roon cleaning since 1130am.
I would suggest there should be separate queue for club lounge guest and those who have no access. We all ended up having to join the long queue into Ash & Elm so what is the difference. Totally dont feel any the recognition of being in the ambassador club.
Last 2 months had also did staycation in other hotels and honest feedback Intercon Singapore stay was really a disappointment compared.

Was a tad hesitant in booking the hotel but had the flash deal voucher and thought I needed some me time.
Check in on a Thursday was smooth and the Asst GRM came in swiftly as the queue started forming.
Had made an earlier request to pay for the upgrade to a suite but I think it was unavailable then. But unfortunately, Fiona had missed out an opportunity to upsell me club benefits as I would have willingly paid for them (knowing that there would be balance of my flash deal voucher and indeed, I have left $70+ of my voucher unutilized).
Service could be a tad more welcoming at that point though, but kudos to the breakfast team as well as the malay guy who had assisted me with my checkout and purchase of parking coupon (simply smooth, fast and smiley).
Room comfortable , with constant air temperature (some rooms can get quite cold even when you increase the temperature). Water pressure is great , I have enjoyed my shower so much during this pandemic period. I just ended finding excuses just to enjoy the shower.
Understandable that some of the amenities are removed during this period, but glad to see some essentials still there such as toothbrush/toothpaste and bedroom slippers. Would be nice if they had included disposable masks but anyway , wasn't a problem since my mask dried in time the next day. Oh and the towels were amazing too! Huge and fluffy!
The in-room spotify was a great addition, I think it might be possible to hook up to our own spotify but I was too lazy to try.
On the day of checkout, I believe housekeeping were doing pest control and knocked on my door. I think she realized it after that the room was due for c/o so she left after knocking.
Breakfast .. I am not really a muffin person but the muffins are good. The staff was very nice to offer me another bread basket but I was too stuffed. But overall, it might be more satisfying to grab breakfast at one of the cafes outside if your room doesn't come with breakfast.
Overall, it's actually quite ideal for the location. I wished I had planned better to utilize my flash deal voucher, and not relying on the staff for recommendations.

Rooms were very clean and housekeeping was very attentive, came back to the room and noticed that my baby’s cutleries were nicely laid out on a tea towel.
Location of the hotel was easily accessible, located right next to the mall.
Staff throughout the hotel were always helpful.
Special thanks to Ms Ann Mapula and her team at Club InterContinental, including Ms Anna of breakfast serving and Mr Fish during evening canapés. They were really warm and attentive to my family’s needs. The service rendered by the team made our stay that much more memorable and my family and I really enjoyed the stay at InterContinental Singapore. We look forward to returning to the property.

Did a quick weekend getaway for the first time at Intercontinental Singapore. Checked in on a Saturday at about 12.30pm and the front desk was alittle busy. Things have changed quite abit these days with COVID. Booked the premium room type but I was not able to check in at the lounge, neither was there a priority check in area for members with elite status, hence I have only one option, which was to join the queue (this spoilt my first impression).
I was served by Edward Lim at the front desk and he saved the experience. Edward was patient in guiding me through the whole check in process and how things work around the hotel during this period with COVID. He provided clear and thorough guidance which was very helpful. I was lucky enough, that my room was ready at the time of check in and late check out till 2pm was offered.
Booked the Premier Suite and was assigned a room on level 10. The room is nice and spacious. It comes with a living room that is separated from the bedroom, but without a door. The living room is furnished with a work desk, a comfortable sofa where you could laze around reading a book or watch TV.
In the bedroom, there is another TV and ample power sockets to charge your devices. The king sized bed is also very comfortable for a good night's sleep. The bathroom is rather small. It comes with a bathtub and a separated shower stall.
Suite and Club Rooms come with access to the Club Intercontinental Lounge where you could stroll in anytime during their operating hours for a drink. As per Edward's recommendation, we headed there for their 3-5pm afternoon tea. The afternoon tea comes in three tier set with your choice of non-alcoholic drinks. The items served are of good quality and in generous servings. So is the Evening Canapes where another three tier set is served, but with alcoholic drinks this time round. Breakfast is also served at Club Intercontinental guests staying in the premium room types.
Location of the hotel is just next to Bugis Junction Mall and there is a link to the mall. It's a short walk away from CHIJMES and Raffles City Mall where there are more dining options available.
Enjoyed the short relaxing getaway and I thank Edward for all his assistance and providing recommendations. His service standards are truly exemplary!

The pool was great, staff friendly, food is ok not great.
The room was great size and spacious with two double beds for my 2 and 3 yr old and my partner and me and clean. Room service was not great and a high price.
We ate at the club room for breakfast which was a good spread but wish oat milk was available. We had afternoon tea, for 2 kids and 2 adults but only got two portions of afternoon tea so had to ask for more, the afternoon tea isn't actually afternoon tea it is a poor version of the afternoon tea served in the main room which I have photoed as there is a vast difference. The club membership is a con you don't actually get the full package that you would get if you just paid for afternoon tea in the main room. The cocktails and snacks, cocktails are amazing, snacks are just odd. For the cocktails and snacks we had to hunt down a staff member to serve us for this.
I made the mistake of booking directly with the Intercontinental Hotels Group over the phone and was given a price, and agreed and didn't check the confirmation email, the price was quoted in Singapore dollars. This was my mistake I have always booked via expedia or booking.com where the price you see is the price you pay, after calling Intercontinental 5 times and speaking to different people and constantly being told contradicting things which meant i missed cancelling the booking in the set time, they booked me a room where the price changes daily until you arrive and what ever price they quote that day is the price you have to pay regardless. So luckily my credit card had a big enough allowance as we sadly ended up paying TRIPLE the price i agreed to. Their call centre staff were incredible rude and cold. And from this experience despite happily staying in the London branch with no problems, it seems Singapore is the let down of the group and I would never stay here again.
The kids really enjoyed their jungle themed room, complete with bunk beds and slide. The thoughtful kid-friendly amenities in the bathroom was a nice touch too. I particularly love the step stool that was placed in the bathroom, so that the kids could reach the tap and sink easily. The tiny human bathrobe was also really cute and nice.
Only area of discomfort was trying to get to the hotel lobby from the carpark. Due to covid restrictions, the door was locked from the inside, and we were stranded there at the carpark with our luggages and kids for quite a while. There was a number for us to call if we needed help to open the door but no one answered it. Thankfully, one of the staff was walking past the door and saw us outside the door, and he went on to open the door for us. And he proceeded to help us check in smoothly and his personable and pleasant demeanour more than made up for the earlier inconvenience. Thanks Edward Lim!
All in all, had a wonderful stay at the InterCon, and would love to go back again. Wondering what other family-friendly theme and finishing touches would they be able to create for future staycays. :D

Booked a staycation on Klook for 1 night with $100 dining credits and 20% discount on F&B.
Was given a slightly early check in and late check out, however there was a very disturbing incident upon checking into the room. The instant service staff brought up a birthday cake to the room and rang the doorbell a couple of times. As I was in the shower and couldn't answer or make any response to the door, the staff decided to use his key card to enter on his own accord to the room. He must have heard the shower and realized there was actually somebody in the room. I heard him make a self exclamation "oh" and quickly exited the room. Few minutes later when I got out of the shower, I got a call telling me a staff is outside the room to deliver a cake. No admission of a mistake and the staff just pretended nothing happened to hand over the cake. It makes me wonder how can a top hotel have such poor protocols with respect to room entry procedures and zero service recovery. I didn't want to make an issue at that point so I left it as that.
Other than that, lobby service was generally cold. People just acted like they were there to do a job. No greetings or making sure guests use Safe Entry at the door. Apparently the 20% discount for F&B cannot be used together with the dining credit even though there's zero mention of such terms anywhere in the booking and the check in staff did not mention too. When given the feedback, lobby staff couldn't come up with any explanation except "it's like that". They have been running the same promotion for a long time and I have seen earlier reviews on Klook mentioning they actually stacked it, so I gave the feedback that they should really update their terms. Again, I was met with the cold response of "yeah, ok".
Only redeeming factor was the good food at Ash and Elm and the great dim sum and service at Man Fu Yuan. Otherwise a rather disappointing stay especially due to the service and incident.

Dear evokiller88, Thank you for taking your time in sharing upon a feedback of your recent stay experience with us. Your feedback is crucial to us, and for our onward improvement most certainly. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you of our strict procedures in entering upon occupied Guestrooms, and the thorough compliance to these procedures at all times for the safety and security of our Guests. In this unfortunate instance, our Colleague had mistakenly judged that you had not been in your room during the time he visited to deliver your cake amenity after following the procedures to entering upon Guestrooms. We most certainly could have followed up upon this mindfully, to ensure your understanding and comfort across the rest of your stay. I have further noted upon your feedback of our service and dining discounts, and would be keen to ensure this is delivered to better precision and hospitality. Thank you once again, for sharing upon these detailed feedback providing clear opportunities for our refinement and improvement. My Team and I look forward sincerely to an opportunity to welcome you back with us again, for a refreshed experience and one truly synonymous with InterContinental Singapore. -- Yours sincerely, Andreas Kraemer General Manager

I asked last time its 200++ per pax. You may email the hotel to reconfirm.
Last July they only served Prosecco (not Champagne) in the Club Lounge during the evening cocktails. It was not included at breakfast but I'm sure if you asked, you could order it at breakfast for an additional charge.
I’m sure they will have this type of access-it’s a modern hotel-and excellent!
Yes, but on a case by case basis. The rules for all Intercontinental hotels that have club lounges, prohibit children during the cocktail hours however, exceptions are sometimes made and in Singapore the families are seated toward the front of the club. As long as the children are well behaved and respectful, the families are welcome. If the children are running around and disrespecting the privacy of others, the families will be politely asked to leave. As a Royal Ambassador that has visited most of the clubs around the world, I support this policy and agree with some leniency for families with children.
