Amrise might be considered in Singapore as a Budget Hotel, even the rate is almost triple to other South East Asian Budget Hotels. However it seem on the lower cost-size for Singapore. The Hotel is easy to reach from public transportation (MRT, bus). The rooms are pretty small but nobody goes as a tourist to Singapore to stay in a...

I had to go to Singapore for 2 nights and 3 days alone, so was looking for cheap accommodation. I finally settled for the Amrise Hotel despite some of the bad reviews. Booked through agoda.com, a single standard room at $55 (sing dollars) a night. From the airport, I took the MRT and got off at Aljunied station (the tourist...

We have a standard twin room. Small beds. Cold room because cannot adjust aircon degree. Only switch on or off. I saw a cockroach run into telephone. The bathroom is ok though has stain. Ofcourse I didn't have comfortable sleep. Reception is helpful and quick.

For the price in singapore it is very good as long as you have the right expectations! In good are close to mrt and with millions of shops and restaurants everywhere! As a budget traveller the room was clean enough for me and it is small but we were pretty much only there to sleep anyway! Staff are also friendly!

the room was quite small but enough for family with one children... toilet clean with hot water, soap & shampoo, tissue and towels. AC and LCD TV with cable TV operated good. Distance with MRT stations not too far, but i suggest if you travel with child under 3 years old better go there with bus rather than walking. If...

i was not sure about this place having read all the negatives in here. But what a surpise. I travelled with a group and we took 4 rooms all of which were tiny as expected, but really clean with everytthing as required. I was really happy with hot water at about midnight, working wifi + good choice of TV channels....

Staying in Geylang

Neighbourhood Profile
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city centre, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colourful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
