Pros: -Friendly staff -This place was literally the cheapest place I could find when I was looking for a room for five people. (backpacker dorms not included) -The room we were given was spacious enough, with two queen size beds and one single bed, and enough floor space for our luggage to lie around. Our room had no closets though....

This small hotel is 250 yards from the MRT. The road from the MRT exit goes right to the hotel. This is a good place to spend the night before a flight out. It is in expensive for Singapore, and eating places are all around. This is just a basic place to spend the night.

It is in good location, two blocks to Aljunied MRT station. You need to cross the street twice and walk for around 500 metres. I brought my big luggage by myself. Overall, not a problem. I book the double room, and we have to get the mineral water at the receptionist. They give me 1 bottle and I have to...

The location is good, if with a bit of a baggage from the past. Geylang has been the primary red-light district of Singapore. However, you'll be forgiven totally for not noticing anything out of ordinary. There are a lot of food places within walking distance. However, if you are looking for a Western fast-food place like McD or Dominos or...

Average hotel stay, Only good point is the location, close to the MRT and Bus stop. The rooms are not that great and after evening the ground floor becomes hosts for weird activities. It's ok if you are staying just for a day, because one can find more places around same cost. Also checkout Katong area, if you want a...

Staying in Geylang

Neighbourhood Profile
Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city centre, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colourful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
