Good mid-range hotel in Singapore where value for money is good. The rooms are small but clean, functional and adequate. Staff friendly. Nice pool on the roof with a nice view. Would happily stay again!
The hotel is not centrally located when it comes to the tourist center, but the price is right. In about 10-15 minutes on foot (be careful, you have to cross a small hill on foot) you can reach the metro (Novena), from there you can get to the tourist center in about 20 minutes. I was surprised that taking a taxi (or Grab) is not that expensive. For the airport, I definitely recommend a taxi (between 20 and 40 euros depending on the time of day).

In addition to a bed, the room has a TV, a safe, kettle, refrigerator and storage space.
The hotel has a small fitness room and a beautiful pool on the roof. Nice for relaxing after a city tour. Unfortunately with two disadvantages: There are no shady spots, so you are completely exposed to the sun. The pool and fitness room close at 6 p.m., and the cleaning lady will "kick you out" if you are still in the water at that time. It would be desirable to increase the opening times to 8 p.m.
I didn't use any special services, as my flight was late in the evening, I was very pleasantly surprised by the late check-out options, I was able to stay in the hotel until 6 p.m. by booking extra (TOP).

I read very poor reviews of the hotel so I expected the worst of the room. However, small as it may be, I was most happy that the room that I stayed in was clean and devoid of any funky odour. I requested for and was allocated a room at a quiet corner of the hotel, and therefore, I wasn’t troubled by the lack of soundproof the wooden walls afforded. The room was small and basic; 2 bottles of water and simple toiletries were provided.
The location was not central, but I could easily hop on the bus in front of the hotel to get where I wanted. Buses that go in front of the hotel are 129, 130, 131, 139, 145, 186, 21 … and I could check their routes online or at the bus stop itself. It is rather convenient to get to City Hall, Maxwell MRT, and even Vivocity directly by bus.
To get to the hotel from Novena MRT station, the nearest MRT from the hotel, get out from Exit B, go across the road via the overhead bridge and take bus no. 21. The hotel is just 2 stops away. The bus stop in front of the hotel is called ‘before Jalan Dusun’.

Very good price to quality ratio. Nice swimming pool (operating only till 18:00). Rooms are small, but quite clean. There is a small fridge and safe in room. 2x 0,5l water bootles, tea, coffee, clean sheets and towels are provided every day. Toilet and shower share same spot. Novena area is quite far from most of tourist attractions. Bus stops are very close, but MRT station like 15 min walk which is far in this climat conditions. Walls are thin, so if your neighbours are loud you will hear it. I menage to check-in early without any fee. Baggage storage is available. Nice and polite stuff, especially old door man.

Whilst staying at the Thomas Thomson Value hotel, we had the pleasure of having exceptional room service from our maid called Zi Ying. Whom helped keep our room extremely tidy and was super friendly with any other remarks that we had. Overall the hotel is nice and well situated.

I don't recommend the Value Hotel Thomson. The rooms are small. Our window looked out onto a very close apartment building, so we could look right into their rooms and vice versa, so kept our curtains closed. The shower is next to the toilet in a very small bathroom, not enclosed, so everything gets wet. No amenities provided. The area is uninteresting and a bit of a walk to the bus stop and metro. It takes a bit of traveling on the bus, metro, or taxi to get anywhere interesting. The hotel pool is nice (7th floor), and there's a nice bar next to the hotel. Though the hotel price was fairly cheap (through a discount company), I'd say maybe pay a bit more and find a place more conveniently located to your places of interest.

The quality of the cleaning was always so cleaned and the room was well looked after and nothing was moved out of place and always replaced the water and the toiletries when required. Great customer service, very friendly and helpful staff and would recommend the Value Hotel Thomson to friends and family. I’m intending to come back and use value Hotel Thomson next year.

The hotel staff were very friendly ziying was very helpful and kind. Ziying came daily and drop off water bottles and fresh towels, lovely having a friendly face everyday come in and see us. The hotel pool was very nice and refreshing, lovely in the hot sun.
