All you would expect from Novotel - Clean, well equipped room, great breakfast etc - but the staff went extra mile to assist with getting my lost luggage back to me - I'm sure without Jasmine I would still be waiting for my luggage to chase me around the world.
The staff are aloof and snobbish. The hallway to the room is dirty and garbage bags are piled along the hallway. There is nobody that will answer the phone at night. Breakfast is shared with guests from the adjoining Mercure hotel. The furnitures, even the electric kettle is dusty. Towels provided is old with edges that are loose. I paid with my credit card and was billed twice which I disputed with my bank. There is a shuttle service but will not reach the Orchard road so walking would take about 15-20 minutes to the desired shops. No MRT station nearby too.
I would like to express my appreciation for the outstanding customer service provided by your privilege lounge team. Privilege lounge access enhanced our vacation experience. We enjoy very much on the happy hour session, nice food and nice wine. Every staff with whom we came in contact was attentive, friendly and helpful including Hui Xian, Edlyn, Glenn, Elaine and Jessica. They are always with a big smile😊 Keep up the good work! However, the toilet outside the lounge is not so clean, maybe can clean it more frequent. We had a wonderful vacation stay here, thank you again for such outstanding service.
Pushpa & Xavier assisted with the Check in. Pushpa did some magic she gave us an upgrade & a Birthday surprise for my partner! What a splendid service which makes this hotel our favorite. The friendly and approachable staff do make alot of difference to your stay! I hope everyone get to experience this 5 star service at Mercure on steven! We booked Novotel Stevens for our company's chinese new year luncheon for 160 pax. From the enquiry till the event date, the liaison Adrian was extremely prompt in his communication on multiple fronts. He answered all my queries clearly and even helped me to anticipate potential areas to take note bc of his vast experience. On the event date itself, there was smooth handover from Adrian to the banquet manager Farhan, together with the AV Isa. Farhan was such a joy to work with, he was very adaptable especially when we had last minute changes in schedule and still our food service went extremely smooth. Isa also provided very apt support and kept vigil on our devices throughout the event to ensure the audio/videos were playing on schedule. Many guests complimented the food choices as well! Very pleasant and wonderful experience thanks to the staff!!!…
Beautiful stay with great support from staff front office and check in jasmine was very helpfull and went out to make sure we knew where to dine front office staff was very pleasant made our stay a memorable one
The room and toilets are clean. The interior is conducive for work and play. The beds are comfortable. The dustbin should be slightly bigger, but still it is good place to stay. Good place for a break
The hotel was great it shared its pool and restaurant with the Mercure.. the room amazing the food fantastic and the staff great.. thanks Shaz for all your help. There’s a lap pool that you can swim at and the pools are never full. The gym is also great
There are only three counters at reception. When I checked-in, only two counters were manned. I had to wait for 20 minutes before someone could attend to me. To my horror, the hotel screwed-up my reservation. The staff informed me that my reservation was cancelled. I was totally baffled when I had email and a confirmation letter from Novotel Reservations to show that my reservation was made and confirmed. After another 10 minutes, the staff managed to get my reservation reinstated. The room was sufficiently comfortable in terms of space, design and furnishing. A quick check in the bathroom shows that the only thing they offered are toothbrushes and toothpaste. No shaver, shower cap, cotton buds, nail filer or comb. The shower is fitted with both a hand held shower and a rain shower with very good water pressure. Please remember to conserve water and be green. There is a safe, steam iron, and ironing board in the closet. No extra pillows. There is a desk with a lamp that is only as good as it looks. There is also a couch next to the full length glass which looks out to the pool and garden, and also the residential condominiums surrounding the area. The couch is not very clean. Crumbs can be seen on it and one of its cushions has stains. I left that aside and not touched it since check-in. The bed is very comfortable, which I am very glad. The only drawback was that it had a headboard which isn’t cleaned and dusted very well. After an hour on the bed, I felt there were things flying about. A quick check revealed that there was lots of dust at the top of the headboard. I used a towel and cleaned it myself and dusted the bed thereafter. Couldn’t wait for housekeeping to do it. Housekeeping doesn’t do a very thorough job at making up my room. Glasses were left uncleaned. Tea bag and raw sugar were not replenished. I also had to go to housekeeping at their cart along the corridor to ask for more shower gel as the bottle in my shower was finished and not replenished. I ordered room service and had Nasi Goreng. The quality of food is average at best. The prawn cracker which was served with it was soft and not crispy. Overall taste and serving is just ok. I was expecting more for the incredible price I had to pay for it. The hotel operates in a very strange manner. During check-in, the receptionist only took a holding amount on my credit card only enough for the room charge for 3 nights. I was told i will have to pay on the spot if I ordered room service or ate at its food outlet. I was not able to put the charge to my room. How very odd. The hotel offers “complimentary” car parking. And I was shocked to find out that guests were only permitted only ONE exit per day. Good grief. The hotel offers a free shuttle between Novotel on Stevens to Novotel Living on Claymore, a short walk to Orchard Road. It took me about 5 minutes to get to Orchard Road. The shuttle runs on a half-hourly schedule and is rather on time. The hotel left me with a general feeling that it treats all its guests the same - not very friendly. So much for being a Gold member. It is unfortunate that the hospitality standard shown by the hotel is not up to par with hotels in the same class in places like Australia, Vietnam and Thailand. I certainly hope it is not indicative of the hospitality standard to be expected in Singapore.…
I landed in Singapore yesterday as a tourist. I arrived at the hotel at 4pm. At 4:15pm, I was already in my room. The check in was hassle free. The receptionist,Janice was an absolute sweetheart. Thank you Janice for your excellent service. I then asked a few of the staff members and duty manager about the tourist activities in the area. Wow!!! All I can say is that they were absolutely helpful, kind and the sweetest hotel staff I’ve come into contact with after years of travelling to different countries. The manager Sunny, Staff members Elaine, Glenn and Ann were superbly kind and helpful so much so that I have extended my stay at this hotel just because of their great service. Oh and I also need to add that this is the cheapest 4.5 star hotel in this area for this incredibly low price. If you are a tourist, I’d really suggest this hotel. Great location, affordable and the best staff which makes your stay amazing. …
