Astoria Current is right on the beach and the property has a number of pools as well. The downside is that the pools are surrounded by the hotel so they don't get a lot of sun if you like to sun bathe. Also, the hotel provides beach towels but they don't offer any lounge chairs or umbrellas for the beach. It is a great location and there are a couple of restaurants in the hotel and within walking distance on the beach. Our room was nice, but did not have an outside facing window, rather there was a large window with black out drapes which faced the hallway. So if you didn't draw the drapes, you felt like you were in a fishbowl on display for anyone passing by. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave and after we inquired, a safe.
Jonathan greeted us and promised to remember our names and Jefferson checked us in and was very responsive to everything we needed. Even though we were a bit early on our check in, Jefferson found us a room and allowed us to check in right away. He also arranged a tour of the island for us which was just what we needed. Staff members greeted us every time we passed them and were all very helpful and attentive.
The buffet breakfast was wonderful with a lot of options and delicious food. They also had a very friendly omelet guy who cooked eggs to order and delivered them to our table. The hostess was also very friendly and remembered what we wanted to drink each morning. One of the staff, JL, was particulary attentive and continually came by to refresh our coffee, tea and remove plates. We often took breakfast on the patio which overlooked the beach and provided for great people watching. We frequently returned to this patio after dinner for a nightcap
Astoria Current was a wonderful stay and as a side note, my husband forgot that he had prepaid for transport to the airport that it turns out didn’t include the port transfer. We were a little concerned about missing our flight so we decided to throw away our prepaid return and take advantage of Astoria's service, which proved to be a great decision. The hotel provided a dedicated van to the port, handled all of our luggage, put us on a private speedboat and transferred our luggage onto a bus which took us to the airport. It was effortless and eliminated any stress.
We would definitely recommend this location and would stay here again.

I recently stayed at a stunning hotel in Boracay, and it was an unforgettable experience! The service was exceptional, the rooms were comfy with all the needs, and the beach views were breathtaking. The breakfast was included in the package and it was great, they even do fresh omelette for you. It has a mix of mediterranean breakfast and classic filippino foods. If you want to have dinner you can enjoy also live music. I think that maybe the pool needs a deeper side so that the adults can enjoy it better or a side where people can play so no one can get hurt. The room was nice with everything, they even give you free water bottles every time they clean the room. I think the only problem we had was the bathroom that the water from the shower didn’t flow right so we had a really wet bathroom. The staff in general was extremely helpful and attentive, they were super kind. Shout out to Kevin and Ollie, really funny and joyful. Highly recommended!

We arrived earlier (around 10am) than our check in time (2pm), but our wait was made comfortable by all the staff, especially Sir Ollie. They were all very welcoming and professional. We were served with welcome drinks and snacks, our luggages stowed while waiting for pur rooms. My kids got to enjoy swimming in the pool before our check in time (hooray to no fussy kids - a parent's paradise, indeed!!!). There were lifeguards stationed around the pool at all times. Beach towels are readily available and free of charge.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and complete with amenities and toiletries. Housekeeping was very accommodating with our requests, their drying service is free!
The food at their restaurant was excellent. There were a lot of options, and their menu changes per day. They served Italian (Saturday) and Chinese (Sunday).
The servers are kind, helpful, and very courteous. They were always ready to assist, always had smiles on their faces. Worth every penny. A pleasant experience indeed!

Hotel is great option if you want to be close to the beach as it’s literally right outside of the hotel restaurant. (Station 3 I believe). Alot of bars, resorts, restaurants and massage shops within walking distance. Plenty of hawkers selling their tour packages as well. If you want to be close to the “action” you can’t beat this location but there are downsides the main one being that because there are tons of tourists in the area the restaurants cater to them which inevitably dumbs down the authenticity and quality of the cuisine IMHO. My advice is find a local guide/driver and take their recommendations—I’ve attached the business card of a driver we found (Mike) who was great. If you need a private driver for a few hours or the whole day he is the best.
Hotel service was exceptional and everyone was friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel was mediocre to slightly above average so I would recommend venturing out. The salon has an excellent masseuse (Adriana) and we had 3 massages over 2 days.
The one knock to the hotel—and thus the 4 star rating- is some cleanliness issues. Granted I am super anal about cleanliness and I think 90% of people wouldn’t be too freaked out but there were a few things that I would have liked to see done better. For example during one of the massages the pillow they put on the table for me and my wife the lay on clearly had a dirty pillow cover and even hair on it. And although our room was serviced and cleaned adequately some of the towels still stains on them or had actually simply been rehung for use even though we had thrown them on the floor which should be the universal sign to replace them.
These small cleanliness issues aside, my overall experience was very good and I would recommend this as a solid option to 1st time visitors to Boracay. Personally if I return I would consider other options as well.
TIP: don’t just stay at the beach near the hotel if you stay here. Like I said hire a driver and go to Puka Beach, Keyhole Beach and watch the sunset at West Cove. These other beaches are empty compared to the ones at station 1-3 and are great for photos and seeing the Boracay you probably envisioned in your mind.

Very Good! It should have been much better if there's a minibar in the room. Per Pax must have extra face towels, the guest's slippers must be seen. Personnel & the trainees from restaurants are friendly & hospitable, they (Danica, Rea, & the OJTs attended the PAX well & the foods taste good as well.

Room: We had a room with direct access to the pool. There is no terrace, the pool starts one meter in front of the room. This meter is also the walkway to the beach and breakfast - so guests and staff walk past the room day and night. The room was very noisy because it was so close to the pool, so our baby couldn't sleep. The room was damp, there were traces of shine on some corners and surfaces in the room and for this price you would normally expect a better cleaned room.
Location: Basically the location is very central and right on the beach. Staying on the beach directly in front of the hotel is not recommended due to the large number of visitors and number of hotel salespeople.
Conclusion: The hotel was not suitable for us, I booked 4 nights and changed to another hotel after just one night. We then only stayed in this hotel for breakfast the other 3 nights.
