We had better expectations for this place. First of all— the stench in certain parts of the hotel is almost unbearable. Different parts of the hotel looked like it was on permanent renovation— especially the 5th floor “rooftop” breakfast area (the food was also bad). Where else can you get an omelet with an unmelted piece of cheese square on it? LOL. Moreover, the rooms look so much better online. They weren’t terrible, but our room looked old and unkept (mostly the bathroom area, if you can call it that). That’s probably why we had to kill 2 cockroaches within the same day. Housekeeping came by and took our toilet paper and hand towels without replacing it. Not only that, they cleaned the floor and left a trail of wet spots EVERYWHERE—to the point where we all slipped walking in the room. The staff are NICE, but the rules implemented in this place were weird. They wouldn’t even let us take our coffee down, when we promised we would return the cups in an hour. Overall, if you can afford it, do yourself a favor and go someplace else.…
Everyone is very respectful, accommodating, and approachable. My family is pampered. Sometimes you don't have to ask. They can anticipate what you need. The room is very clean. I was amazed with their scented rest room. They have something like infuser that keeps their rest room scented. I hope they would continue doing that. The front desk people are really nice. The guy who checked us in even look for us, since we don't have phone to communicate with him,to inform us that our room is ready. I forgot his name, but we checked in Dec 19. Another lady who assisted me was Sheena. Everytime we call, they respond immediately even late at night and early as 2am. The food is great! They have a variety of choices everyday with their buffet. All resto staff are nice! I just remembered 2 names of staff, Rene Sullaga and Benedict. But EVERYONE is really nice. My kids are amazed with the customer service here. The cost is worth!!! We would love to go back here in Astoria.🥰…
The staff service is really good. They fetched us from the airport and secured us until we got to the hotel. (We also availed of their transfer service) At the hotel, they served us welcome drinks and shell necklaces. The room was plain, just super spacious. We also received welcome fruits in the room. The deck no longer has the lounging set up. Just chairs and a table so it's hot to have a meal. The AC is not cold enough plus it's leaking the whole time. We actually woke up to a puddle. The highlight of the room was supposed to be the jacuzzi, unfortunately, it takes more than an hour to fill and the water's temp no longer feels hot. The only consolation we got is that the bubbles and jets are working well. Room service is only until 8pm and some food/drinks from the menu were not available. The infinity pool is never crowded however, they open around 10am when it's already too hot. The buffet is limited, for the 4days we stayed, there was a repeat of the menu.…
I strongly do not recommend this place to visit. The photos do not correspond to reality. This is a hoax! The rooms are very dirty, the renovation is poor, the smell in the rooms is unbearable, the air conditioners are old, very noisy. The price is overstated five times. By choosing this hotel, we ruined our vacation. We decided to leave the hotel without staying even for one night, but they still refuse to return the money to us. Beware of this place. These are scammers!
Location wise its right in the center of station 2.Dmall is right beside it.its a beachfront hotel but only the suites have that view.hotel lobby is air conditioned which is good.Rooftop pool was nice, the room was adequate, clean and big enough for a family of 4(or 5pax if 3 kids).rooms have amenities and a mini ref. Hot and cold shower is working.Downside is that our keycard did not work properly all the time, the entrance to the hotel is through the resto bar downstairs that is filled with people(but if thats your jive then this is perfect for you)
This is a really weird place. The main beach is a long, mostly white sand beach, with warm, beautifully coloured, flat water and the govt has done a lot to clean it up so, for Asia, it is pretty clean. However, there are loads of people on the sand, sitting or walking around, but almost no one in the water. There are tonnes of shops and restaurants that lead onto the sand, so it feels a little like sitting on a street. Directly behind the beach is a typical Philipino town - dirty, smelly and surprisingly busy for such a tiny island. The beach on the other side of the island is a tip. Clearly the clean up message didn’t reach here. There is trash all over this side, but I guess it doesn’t bother the hundreds of kite surfers in the water. If you are after peace and quiet, this is not the place to go. There are thousands of other beaches in the Philippines that are much nicer and without the thousands of people milling around. By far the nicest thing to do here is go for a ride on a paraw, a traditional sailboat. They are crewed by locals who sail over from the mainland every morning. With their super narrow keels, these things fly!…
This hotel is over priced, filthy and many parts broken/ rusted Compare the prices which is more expensive than the 5 starts nearby hotels. Avoid at all cost - very disappointed ☹️ Finishings of the hotel is below Zero
Pros: - Location was excellent. Right on the beach front and near D'Mall - Friendly staff - 2 pools (quite small, but at least you have option of indoor/outdoor pool) Just Ok: - Lot of choices, but not notable. But at least, it's buffet and not plated Cons: - There is band at the downstairs restaurant nightly so quite noisy until 11-11:30 pm. To be fair, we were warned about this upon checkin, but not known on time of booking - Hotel needs updating (or proper maintenance). A lot of broken things in rooms - Lots of pillows need to be changed already. They did provide additional pillows when we requested Overall, think there are better hotels in the area. Has potential to be a good hotel but it seriously needs updating.
Manila staff are not the most responsive people in this hotel. They take days and weeks to answer be it on social media or emails. We booked a premier and premier suite room during my family's stay. Premier room was ok. Good aircon temp and high water pressure although room swing have water stains and pillows are not comfortable at all. Additional Premier suite was specifially booked because we wanted a perfect beach front room but it was such a disappointment to see that there are a lot of maintenance issues (too many to mention). Staff transferred us to other rooms only to find out the same issues. To add, amenities needs some updating as well. Staffs make up for the property's disappointing state. They offered free massage to compensate for the all hassles, requested one of theif staff to accompany us to the main road and help with the transpo. All in all, hotel experience did not represent a good value for money. Yes, it is a beach front property very near d'mall but that's just about it. Will i book it again? I would think twice. Kudos to the friendly and accomodating staffs for doing a great job! …
Tired from a 7-step procedure having arrived at Caticlan by air, & from walking briskly for 10 min. from the main road to the hotel, our party of six adults was welcomed by Sheena, the front desk lady who promptly cheerfully checked us in a couple of hours early & even upgraded us to rooms that open to the pool. She also handed us one Php500 gift voucher per room for the Paraiso Grill. We were given refreshing chilled mango drinks, shell necklaces & cold moist towels- a truly wonderful touch. Sheena made our day. That’s Filipino hospitality. Tiptop service with a smile. As soon as we got to our room, the safe wasn’t working & the sliding door to the pool failed to latch properly. We had rooms next to each other & were given extra towels on request- simple things another hotel in Boracay refused us so I fired them & went with Boracay Uptown. In 5 min., the maintenance guy came & fixed our concerns but we were leery of the safe box so we never used it. In 10 minutes, the housekeeping lady delivered our extra towels & hair dryer. Wifi was available in our rooms & in public areas. It was so slow that oftentimes, photos failed to download. The room was big enough for several people. We had two queen beds. There was a rainshower in the bathroom. I would have wanted a handheld wand as well. They also had toiletries. The water drained properly in the bathroom. The pool consisted of a shallower kiddie pool & a deeper adult pool (not that deep), well maintained with chlorine & no floaters. It was protected by a roof so one can swim safely even during a rain. There were lounge chairs & tables close by. When we opened our patio door, we had direct pool access. We swam in the evening though the water was quite cold. The front desk had towels for pool use. There was a bar near the pool. Breakfast on the 5th floor was a sumptous buffet from six to ten. They have an egg station, fruit juices, bread, tropical fruit slices, hot beverages & an array of warm rice (fried & steamed) & Asian dishes. The place was kept in tiptop shape by several waiters who filled my water glass several times & promptly too, like in a cruise ship. The evening entertainment by the Lobster Grill next to the beach was great. There was a guitarist who performed nightly from seven to nine. He had a soothing voice that pulled in tourists walking by. His awesome guitar skills and voice were relaxing after a day’s beach activities. You’ll see him in my photos. They had a tower drink that was fun to watch. They also served other drinks & food- even a regular dinner. A rock band performed after him- not my cup of tea so off we went. The hotel is right by the beach. Take a few steps & you are in the midst of Station 2- the activity center of Boracay Beach. There are many restaurants, shops, massage places, etc. just a few steps away. Of course, there’s D’Mall, too. I recommend this hotel by the beach. If we were to go back to Boracay, we’d most definitely stay here again- Boracay Uptown, the hotel that serves customers with a smile. …
