We stayed at Belmont from September 23 to 25 and found the hotel to be terrible. Our problems began the moment we arrived at the Caticlan airport. Despite having what we thought was a confirmed booking for airport transfers, nobody was there to pick us up. Our flight arrived a little early so we thought that maybe our ride was going to arrive at the scheduled time (15 minutes later). When no one came, we called the hotel and the person my wife spoke to rather rudely said we didn’t ask for airport transfers. Thankfully, an employee from the neighboring Savoy Hotel (owned by the same company as Belmont and I believe shares the same outsourced transport service) overheard my wife getting into an argument on the phone and offered to help us. He was the one who arranged for the transport company to take us to our hotel. When we finally got to the hotel, we complained to the front desk about the incident. The man at the counter (I’m unsure if he was the same person my wife spoke to on the phone earlier) asked if we actually asked for airport transfers and when we said yes, asked us if they acknowledged it! When we showed him proof that they confirmed our reservation, he was very nonchalant about it and didn’t even apologize. Still, we decided that we wouldn’t let this issue ruin the rest of our long weekend, which we needed after a particularly hectic few months at work. The hotel was on the far side of the island, 20-30 minutes from the busy White Beach, where most of the good restaurants and activities (although there was a smaller beach on the same development about a 3-minute walk from the hotel) were. We thought this wouldn’t be a problem since like most hotels in the area, Belmont had a scheduled shuttle service to White Beach. At the hotel, we were told that we needed to tell them in advance which of the scheduled trips we planned to get on—a mild annoyance (who wants to plan things in advance when you’re at the beach?) but not really that big of a deal. We arrived at the hotel shuttle’s pick-up point about 15 minutes before the scheduled trip and found at least 20 people there (van capacity is 10, I believe). I thought maybe the others were waiting for other hotel shuttles but no, everyone there was waiting to go back to Belmont. When the van arrived, the driver seemed shocked at the number of people wanting to get on and had to call the hotel to send another van. Thankfully, the wait for the second van wasn’t too long. Still, what was the point of forcing us to tell them ahead? We thought that was a one-off thing but when we took the shuttle back to White Beach the following day, we saw an irate man who couldn’t get on despite having reservations. Whether they’re overbooking the vans or just plain ignoring the reservation system, I have no idea. The hotel offers a rate that includes a 60-minute massage for two, which we took. We scheduled ours when we checked in for 9PM our second night. Given the hotel’s track record so far of keeping reservations, we confirmed our schedule with the concierge twice—the second time the concierge even called the spa in front of us. At 730 PM, we got a call from the spa saying there was only one masseuse available and since 9PM was the last call, one of us had to take the 8PM slot. Having no choice at that point, we agreed. At first we thought the other masseuse called in sick or otherwise didn’t show up but when we asked the masseuse who was there we were told that she was the only one working at the spa (doubling as the receptionist and only masseuse!) and management had no plans to hire more staff at this time. I guess they never explicitly said it was going to be a couple's massage but calling it a “massage for two” that comes with one room heavily implies that it is one. In fairness to the masseuse, the massage was very very good. At check-in, we were not asked for a deposit or a credit card which we thought was weird but nice. This later turned out to be terribly inconvenient because we couldn’t charge anything to the room! Everything had to be paid for immediately—e.g., the restaurant. Breakfast was also quite bad but it’s free so I can’t really complain. The restaurant’s a la carte menu was decent though. Most of the staff (security, masseuse, drivers, and the aqua sports attendant) were very nice. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Taken individually, these things seem like minor inconveniences that one could easily get over. Taken together, however, it shows a pattern of poor customer service that hotel management doesn’t seem to care about. I feel bad for the staff who seem to be trying their best.…
It felt strange the first time I heard it but after being greeted several times, that sweet melodious expression of well wishes filled with repetitive ‘a’ sound makes me want to hear it more. Undiscovered yet by most tourists, Belmont Hotel is located on the other side of the island facing the Sibuyan Sea. Step out of the main door and in a few minutes' walk, you will have a vision of the vast serene nature with the blue sky touching the blue waters and the powdery white sand kissing the shoreline, wishing that you commune with the sea, the sand, and the sky will not go away. The hotel is always ready to pamper us with extra amenities like an early morning free tour to the hilltop to watch the beautiful sunrise and the strong wifi coverage along the beach area. And the hotel staff like Keilah, those at the front desk, the housekeeping, the cafe, the security, and tour guide Issa all made sure our experience with the island's stunning beauty would never be forgotten. Truly, “Maayad ayad na adlaw” is one greeting that captures our entire stay in Belmont Hotel Boracay.…

When you look for the perfect vacation the place is important but the experience makes it unforgettable. Belmont is a place to rest, to find adventure, to reach the best spots for the dreamed picture but also a place to find people to makes you feel as a royalty member. Carmensa, Micah, Aileen, Keilah, Carlo are some of the names that you will find a smile but also the best attitude to deliver a life time experience.
We stayed at Belmont for 4 days. From Anne and Carlo of frontdesk to the lifeguards and drivers who doubled as photographers, service was top notch. Everyone was friendly and ready to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Facilities were great. We really enjoyed the pools, the beach, and the cocktails at the beach bar. We will surely return to this gem of a hotel.
