Tucked away in a picturesque setting, Shangri-La Boracay delights many with its breathtaking ocean vistas and beautifully manicured grounds. Guests commend the attentive staff and the resort’s luxurious amenities, including pristine pools and diverse dining options. Despite some concerns over room wear and high costs, the hotel’s inviting atmosphere and commitment to cleanliness have earned it high marks. However, a few travelers suggest the value could be enhanced by including more complimentary services.

First of all, the overall property is really luxurious. It's quite far from everything else but if some seclusion and excellent food is something you're looking for in Boracay, then I doubt this place will disappoint you. We stayed at their Treehouse villa and all I can say is WOW. Just WOW. Excellent views of the ocean? Romantic seclusion? Check. Waking up and seeing those semi misty glass windows and hearing the birds singing as you take sips from that cup of caffeine after you've just woken up? Check. 24/7 private butler service from a person who seems like he really appreciates how management treats him and has been employed by the resort pretty much ever since it was opened, resulting in his all-smiles and exemplary service? Check.

Pros:
- Absolutely great food. Everything I had was brilliant. If you like your Filipino treats, please do try their "biko." They serve this during breakfast. I don't know what sort of rice they use or what secrets they have in there but sheesh, it's a unique take on the delicacy and I can shamelessly admit that I probably had way too much of it
- Proper Shangri-la service. I've been to a few around the world and this place DOES NOT disappoint. I think it's important to mention this because some of their properties that I wouldn't mention do lack a tad bit on this section. Not being picky but if you're paying top dollar for a Shangri-La experience then you would undoubtedly have a certain level of expectation. All I'm saying is that the people here are very well trained and very natural AND just generally happy, from what I've observed and experienced
- Not sure if they have it included regardless of your package but the airport pick-up/drop-off service is great since they are really at the tail end of the island
- Free shuttle service to/from the commercial part of the island (they have specific time slots)

Could be a con or could just be meh, don't care:
- Location could be a slight detriment for some as it's really far from the main hub

Dear curieusetraveller, Thank you for your amazing review. I am thrilled to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. It's great to hear you were impressed by the ocean views, romantic setting, and attentive service from our long-serving butler. We're delighted you loved our delicious food, especially the Filipino treat "biko," and experienced top-notch Shangri-La service. While our location may be a bit far from the main hub, we're glad you found our airport pick-up/drop-off and shuttle services convenient. Thank you for choosing Shangri-La Boracay, and we look forward to hosting you again soon! Best regards, Hans Gfrei

We reserved a treetop villa and got the perfect one with lots of privacy and a perfect view way up in the resort. Good for fitness but we could have used a trolley transport. Our villa had the bed and bathroom on the lower flooor with electric curtains and drapes which could be partially left open to ensure privacy but also leave an unobstructed view of the sea and sunset. The upper floor was a hugh living/dining room with a large balcony with a perfectly working whirlpool which we used every night. We used it naked and it was no problem. There were also 2 sunbeds there. We often had visits from monkeys, but as we did not feed them (recommended) they only watched us.
We tried all restaurants, but Sirena was our favourite. Room service was fast, efficient and good too. We ordered a bottle of champagne every day, a little expensive, but you only live once. The left beach was nicer, water not as rough and you had a quieter atmosphere as the pool is adjacent to the other smaller beach with larher waves. We do not like pools.
We explored the island by boat and car organized by the hotel. We also did zumba courses, but the room was far too cold. The only evening entertainment was a live band at the pool bar in the evening. There were 4 weddings while we were there. They caused some noise which did not bother us. The bathroom in our villa was large with shower, separate bath tub with a panoramic view and toilet. Upstairs was a kitchen with the best fridge ever on holiday and a power room.
We will return.

I stayed here with my partner in February 2020 for three nights. I booked the deluxe king room with partial sea views.

Everything about our stay was pretty much perfect. We were transferred to the resort from another hotel which we were staying at on the island. Immediately, we were greeted by a lovely lady called Apple who took us through all of the information about our stay. Our luggage was immediately taken care of and were offered delicious welcome drinks. We felt immediately pampered!

We were then taken to our room and I was taken aback by how beautiful the room was. The views were great although I probably would have booked a room to have the full sea view. The amenities were wonderful - big glass bottles of water which were refilled every day, fruit which was replenished every day and L’Occitane soap which was a lovely touch. The bathroom also had amazing body care products. The theme was lemongrass throughout the hotel and to this day, the scent still reminds me of being there.

The buffet breakfast is amazing and you will be left spoilt for choice. They even had vegan juices and a variety of smoothies to rejuvenate you for the day. The food is super varied and absolutely delicious. We also used the Chi Spa which was so relaxing and great experience. They have daily activities at the hotel which you can do there, you’d never get bored. We also fined at the Sirena for Valentine’s Day. We had delicious salmon for dinner! The cocktails were great too and reasonably priced.

The gym is spacious and they provide towels and iced water.

My favourite part of the resort were the unbelievable views everywhere you looked. The private beach was beautiful and they have a fantastic live band on the beach, which honestly takes you to another world. The pools were fab - the service there is brilliant and you really feel like you are being taken care of so you can just chill and relax.

They have free shuttle services to D’Mall and white beach which does not take long at all from the resort (20-25 mins) The mini van is super comfortable and pick up/ drop off times are very reliable and frequent.

Se tried to do everything we could within 3 days but it did not feel like enough. I could have stayed there for a lot longer. Upon leaving we were taken by speedboat which was an experience in itself.

All in all, I cannot express how much I loved staying at Shangri La. it was my first time spending more than usual on a hotel but it was worth it. Boracay is a beautiful place and the resort makes it that extra more magical. Perfect for honeymoon/ romantic vibes. I will definitely be coming back! ❤️

Suggestions:
1. For bacon served during breakfast if you can season it or make it like honey-cured it would be better. Maybe you can have 2 kinds, the existing one and the season one.

2. Those guests with child/children with them, I suggest if you can advise them in advance that the use of activity center will require socks and long sleeves. I understand that these are necessary to maintain the cleanliness of the place and for the safety of the kids, but buying them directly from the hotel is an unnecessary cost. We can bring socks if we were informed in advance about this requirement.

3. I hope there is an earlier shuttle service, 8 or 9 maybe for those guests who want to go to another station earlier. As far as I remember, the earliest trip is 11.

4. The pick-up location "Danaru", is really dark at night. I find it NOT safe to stay and wait for the shuttle. I suggest putting some lightning especially at night and mark that as your pick-up point.

Thank you for the room upgrade to seaview and for the birthday cake provided to my son.

Shangrila delivered on all my expectations except for 1 tiny thing. :)

The Good:
The staff were all friendly, of course true to shangrila's level of customer service, very attentive and proactive.
Beach and pool staff were exceptionally great because just as we sat on the day beds, a pitcher of ice cold water, glasses and towels would immediately follow.

The seaview room was spectacular. Room size is big. Bathroom is huge and the linens, toiletries were all top-notch. Balcony had a table and 2 big daybeds.
The tree top villa had its own mini pool and view from there was breathtaking.

Pool: Superb. Very nice and huge! Has jacuzzi jets in almost all corners of the pool. I sometimes felt i had the pool all to myself even though there were other guests because it was really big. Pools are good for kids and adult swimmers and those who just prefer to lounge and take selfies for the 'gram.

Food is on the pricey side, of course, but quality and taste is within expectation. Beef rendang was my favorite. The choices were a bit limited though. We stayed for 3 nights and felt that we had already tried almost everything on their asian/vintana menu. Try the ice cream by the pool. Many flavors to choose from.

The resort is big so do prepare to walk or take lifts from room to common areas. We took the buggy car from main pool to spa.

The Bad:
TV in the room was old and dated. I wanted to connect my laptop to the tv and there was no HDMI port on the tv.

Also, would be nice if there was a nespresso machine in the rooms too.

Overall. Superb experience. Have already booked my next stay in Shangrila Boracay (Nov).

It was our second stay at the resort and third time in Boracay and this time we got married there! We stayed in the Treehouse Villa for three nights and some of our guests stayed in Deluxe Rooms. The resort itself has its own kingdom on Boracay Island, a secluded sanctuary. The Treehouse Villa had breathtaking views, a 24 hour butler, spacious living area with Jacuzzi on the upper level and our lovely bedroom was downstairs. When a resort proclaim they are 5-star this is the only one in Boracay where I believe that they can seek claim to. Every staff member here I could not fault, everyone is professional and friendly. When you stay here you truly feel like everything is taken care of all you need to is show up. The Resort grounds from beach, pool, gardens, walkways are just beautiful and we enjoyed our long walks exploring.

We had a lovely dinner at Vintana everything that we ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious.

We really enjoyed our Snorkelling Tour and loved there were so many activities to choose from everyday.

The massage at the Chi Spa was just perfect as soon as you enter you feel relaxed with the peaceful ambience.

Our stays here are always memorable and are set apart from other wonderful places where we have stayed. Cannot wait to come back next year!

I was floored by how exquisitely maintained the resort was. They did very well during the lockdown, probably polishing everything 24/7 while the resort was devoid of guests. From my last visit perhaps 10 years ago, I was amazed how the resort has not aged at all. It has the same grandiose tropical paradise look and feel that makes you gape in awe and thank your lucky stars you are here right now when the world is struggling with the virus and a pandemic.

My husband and I booked the Treetop villa and we were so happy! The spacious living room and awesome balcony overlooking the ocean was simply fabulous. The hot tub was a bonus and it was filled with bubbles daily by our dedicated butler Robert.

The resort pool, gardens, beach, the cafe were all fab and breathtaking and in tiptop shape. We had the staff set up for our group of 27 sunset cocktails with yummy food and the best service. I was surprised at the hotel menu which is moderately priced and not atrocious like most new exclusive resorts nowadays.

I guess I will keep coming back to Shangri-la.

One of my best friends was getting married here, and so I booked my stay without having done any research, knowing it would just be easier to stay at the wedding venue.

So I hadn’t read about the incredible convenience for airport pick up and the take your breath away arrival experience. I didn’t know that I would be welcomed by an amazing show and entourage that would escort me to my room in a private buggy, where check in would take place in 5 minutes.

The room itself was impeccably clean with gorgeous views and an easy distance from the lobby (for reference I booked the premiere sea view room).

The breakfast buffet, as I have now read others have also highlighted, was one of the best breakfast... yeah no, it was probably the best breakfast buffet I’d ever had, and I’ve been to many including those in Vegas.

The beach, pool and entertainment areas were amazing, and honestly the staff there were the friendliest, most attentive and overall kind human beings ever.

We were joking as we were in the buggy leaving that we probably wouldn’t get the band send off, and of course we were wrong. The departure was just as thoughtful as the arrival.

I’m totally going to come back here if I ever come back to Boracay. I will note that it is a short-ish, depending on traffic tricycle/ shuttle ride away from White Sand Beach, which is a must visit. I might add a night to a White Beach beachfront hotel just for convenience.

GC Members are entitled to welcome amenities, few days already and nobody from the guest services dept. noticed that they failed to send it to our room, i needed to remind them.

why I had this feeling that Few staffs in Shangri-la Boracay were unfriendly, they will not "Gladly assist you", or they don't know how to properly address your request.
I've been to most shangri-la hotels in Asia, and I must say the level of Customer Satisfaction at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria (Malaysia) is really exceptional.

Needed to call the room service to send out toilet paper because they don't do room service daily, it's only upon request.

Food at the Breakfast buffet were almost the same for the entire week. limited selection of fruits, Menus were served the same like Monday, Wednesday and Friday same menu. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday same menu. Sunday combination of both.

We’re so glad we chose to stay here and celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. Everything went seamlessly from the airport up to the transfers for our return flight. The terminal lounge was a nice change from the usual crazy situation in the public waiting area. We transferred to the hotel via private speedboat which only took a few mins even with the crazy weather.

For the food, breakfast buffet spread was superb and we were also able to enjoy different dishes from Vintana and Cielo—the two restaurants opened during the pandemic.

Pool was well maintained and life guards were all around the area, one even helped us a lot with taking some photos. Social distancing was also easy to observe because there’s a lot of space for everybody. The area as a whole was very picturesque.

We also got to spend a few hours enjoying the entertainment room playing billiards, table tennis, basketball, etc.

However, for us the highlight of our stay is the hospitality from all of the hotel staff. Everyone was super nice and accommodating and it made our stay extra comfortable. We were even given complimentary wine for our anniv celebration. We transferred to a different hotel after 2 days and we were still able to avail our transfers back to the airport thanks to the assistance of the staff.

We’re excited to go back to Boracay and stay in Shang again. :)

The Shangri-la has regular boat transfers to Caticlan several times a day, generally to match the departures of flights to Manila, plus I suppose you can arrange for a special trip if you want one. Contact the Shangri-la directly. :)

There are a lot of variables--sea condition, land and air traffic, the lines at the check-in desk, and so on--I suggest you ask for the advice of the Shangri-la staff on the day you're scheduled to leave. They know what they're doing.

They have a free shuttle bus that takes guests to the centre of town where there are lots of restaurant options which are very cheap. Food prices in the hotel are reasonable if you’re a Westerner but might be a little prices if you’re a local.
