It was great to see this place I really loved it. Philippines in general is great but it was amazing to see this! the name is super funny. I met some travellers out there who we travelled with and went to see the Monkey house!
My friend and I stayed in this quaint hillside treehouse for two nights recently. The owners, Nancy and Arthur, were the most amazing hosts and pleasant people we've come across throughout our travels. The accommodation takes your breath away with the sweeping views of the bay and hills from the balcony. The size of the room is perfect, allowing for a seating area, comfortable bed and storage space. The location is convenient, with a restaurant and bar next door which luckily is the prime sunset viewing location for the island. But its the genuine smile and helping attitude of the staff that sets them apart from anything else that may be available. I don't want to stay anywhere else.
We (my fiancee and I) stayed here for 6 days after we had our booking cancelled at short notice at another venue on Diniwid beach. The couple running the place were friendly and accommodating. The room was neat, decent size (for the 2 of us) with a cute balcony overlooking the beach. Linen was new and the bathroom looked freshly renovated (with an open window looking over Diniwid Beach). For 6000 pesos a night (peak season) it is great value compared to what some people are charging in Diniwid for a lot less quality.
Very basic accommodation perched above the water. Boracay is the new tourist island of Asia, with selfie sticks and ponchos (it rains a lot) being sold every 5 meters. The locals are making some serious $ on this island. Monkey house is no exception, being ridiculously overpriced for what it is. The owners were nice but didn't offer any tourist advice, no transfers and were smoking inside the house. The outlook of this place is nice. Instagram nice. The only problem is what to do once you've taken that amazing shot to make your friends jealous and the power or water stops working... Oh, the Internet is basically non existent. Don't book more than 2 nights. You may love it. It will ruin your holiday if you don't.
Stayed in this island for almost a month. This cove resort by the hill is my favorite. The spa and restaurant on top of the mountain is the best. Simple yet homey feeling environment. Came here by myself. The view is top notch! Wakes up in the morning with ocean view is unbeatable. Food in the fish market if awesome, sooo fresh and delicious.
Basic accommodation but the view is unbeatable. Huge window right next to the water!! Bathroom is a bit old but working. Hosts are friendly and laid back. As for breakfast we highly recommend Spider House which is located just next door. Enjoy ur stay and have a peaceful time out on Boracay away from the party area.
When we arrived, the first room we were offered was nothing like what was in any of the photos and was not worth anywhere near the money they were trying to charge. When we explained it wasn't what we had booked they offered us another room, but this was the owners room (the owner lives there most of the time) and we had to wait for everything to be moved out and cleaned. When we finally had the room to ourselves it still was not very clean. Luckily we only had 2 nights booked here as we had been waiting to get into the Spider House, if you have a choice I would definitely pick the spider house or somewhere else.
We travelled to Boracay a few years back but i thought we should give it some reviews. Monkey House is a beautiful little place located at the right place on Boracay Islands. If you are travelling as a couple and do not care of room service and other nonsense, this will provide you with a feeling of being at peace. The waves splashing right under your room is not something you experience often. the owners are friendly and they let you be..
This is a real chance to live an exotic life for a couple of days - great cozy hotel in the rocks, with unique rooms design and splendid view. There are no windows - there are big spaces with endless sky and sea. It was actually a highlight of our staying in Boracay. And very quiet and beautiful beach Diwinid. And of course, very very friendly, helpful and warm welcome hosts!
The Monkey House is a true hidden gem on Borocay. While the stretch of development along the white sands beach has become a cluttered mix of guesthouses and boutique hotels spilling over into each other’s property, the Monkey House has been able to retain the charm of a small 4 bedroom hideaway among the trees / on the rocks at the edge of Diniwid beach, just to the north of white sands beach. Built by renowned HK architect / artist Ray Yip, the idyllic rustic retreat allows you to enjoy the splendors of Borocay while feeling that you are living in a local home. This is not the 4 Seasons, so don’t come expecting that. That said, whatever you think you’re missing out on in terms of 5-star amenities is more than made up for by delicious home-cooked food and an authentic Filipino family experience with Necy, Arthur and Nash.…
