Privacy and security is imporant when travelling into unfamiliar place. I hate this hotel that it doesnt give us peace of mind few hours when we arrived here. One guest is complaning that he lost his money and tab at the time we arrived. Then we entered in our room and there is small cabinet underneath our bed but it doesnt have any lock onnit. Anyone can access your valuables when you lift the bed. Even the staff warned us thst it is not safe. Im not new in hostels, in fact I already tried in Japan and Palawan, but this one is the worst I ever had! Even thought its a hostel, staff should also maintain the cleanliness of the facility.

Hostel Avenue is a hostel in the beachfront near station 2,Boracay. It was a great location specially for solo traveller like me who just wanted to chill and with cheap budget. The room is quite clean as expected on the hostel but check again for comfort because you will have people come and go, lights turn on and off. The bathroom is a common area and a self service, ask for tissue if all gone. There is no hot water in the shower and the door seems broken. But the staff are very nice so still, the hostel is within the price as expected.

I'm a solo traveller and just wanna skip the bustle and hassle Manila for a weekend and I just found out this lovely hostel. Firstly, Location wise is perfect,a 5 foot away from the beach at station 2, and very convenient to everything you needed from the shops, restaurants and bars etc. Secondly,Accomodation -It is a hostel lodging , a shared room about 20 people (most recommended for a big groups) cleanliness are well maintained and of course free WIFI. They have a small locker for your personal things (just bring your own pudlock). Thirdly, Value of money- if you travelled with a budgeted money this is suitable for you. Lastly, special THANK YOU to Nino Pantua( receptionist) for his warm hospitality and high level of service during my stay and to Lorence(night shift) for his kind and accomodating approach, you guys rocks!!!!Kudos to Management. Difinetely recommended to everyone!!And looking forward to see you guys in August.

I decided to try this hostel because it looked fun and comfy on paper. But... They had to turn off AC during high noon, so some of the tourists that wanted to stay indoors are sweating like pigs. And even if the AC is on, it barely makes you cool. Good luck to a good night's sleep. I asked politely to transfer to a vacant bottom bunk bed because the top bunk beds are really warm (even at night time), but they wont let me because guests will be arriving later. I've decided to move anyway. But then, they wanted to get my new bed sheets and replace it with my sheets the night before. So I asked them, "hindi ba nakakahiya sa guest yang ginagawa nyo?" Later, they asked to exchange pillows from my old bed. Of course I did bring my pillow from my previous bed, I'm not dumb! Come on, there are other hostels out there which are priced the same but have better ACs and better customer policies. SMH.

The hostel is perfectly located at station 2. It's just a short walk to the main D'Mall shopping and dining area. Other than the location and the affordability, unfortunately these are the only two positives I can think of. I found the dorms to be too crowded and my bed wasn't very big and uncomfortable. The shower was full of sand and there was nowhere to keep my clean clothes to get changed into. The bathroom floors were always wet and the sink area was not kept clean due to so many people using the same sink. If you are coming to Boracay you want to relax and not have to worry about these things. I suggest you spend that bit extra for a more comfortable stay. I recommend the Bamboo Bungalows which is not far from this hostel and you get your own spacious room for a good price.

The hostel opens out straight onto the beach and is surrounded by loads of bars and restaurants. The room was clean but had so many beds. This meant there was very little space for our bags. Everyone’s stuff just got a bit muddled in between all the beds. Saying this however, they did provide a small locked drawer for your valuables. There were plug sockets by each bed which were useful. There was no bar or restaurant in the hostel but this wasn’t an issue. They also looked after our bags for us for a few hours.

I spent here my New Year holidays. On New Year Eve staff made for customers party with musik, free alcohol and food. What about quality of this place? Remember, that's a hostel and not 3-4 stars hotel. In Common room with 10-15 people. Pretty clean. AC in room. Outside lounge with nice view. One bad thing - no hot water in bathroom. Nice English speaking staff. I think it's good hostel! Location is very convenient. In the middle of Island. Downstairs there are SPA, daving center and bar.

2/5 for friendly staff and good location at the beach. Other than that poorly equipped and maintained. WiFi unusable, no toilet paper most of the times, cold showers and in our case really loud annoying British people drinking. Although security enforcement nothing was done against it.

My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in Jan 18. On arriving we were asked to read and sign a list of rules and regulations, which immediately set a bad tone for our stay. We stayed in the 20 bed mixed dorm, which was very cramped, and only has 2 bathrooms and 2 showers for the entire dorm. The showers were cold, and they're always cold (included in the rules/regs for you to acknowledge this at the start of your stay). This was annoying as it didn't explain this anywhere in our prior booking info. Toilets constantly have wet floor as people use the spray to clean their feet (even though it says not to). Sinks regularly dirty and showers occasionally smell of urine. HOWEVER, we did see the bathrooms being cleaned reguarly and they did a really good job, just unfortunate that we were staying with disrespectful and dirty people. Beds were comfortable enough but curtains were tiny, and if you have a top bunk there is no privacy at all. There are also no lights or shelfs per bed, and the plug sockets were awful. We were allocated the bunk right next to the door, which initially seemed like a plus as it was slightly removed from the rest of the 18 cramped beds, however we quickly realized it was the the opposite. Right next to the noisy balcony (of which there is no outer door, so every time the dorm door opens you hear crazy loud music/singers that sing until all hours), and the light from the reception shines through. We also experienced the staff just walking into the dorm in the middle of the night several times to use the bathroom - and leaving the main dorm door open. As if this stuff wasn't frustrating enough, we got told off one evening for falling asleep in the same bed. It was 11pm, and we'd just travelled almost 20 hours to get there so were asleep fully clothed on the bottom bunk. Granted, the rules and regs specifically says 1 person per bed, but it made us feel like school children. Even more frustrating that the next night, 2 people come in drunk and start making out in the bed next to us and the security guard on the reception was no wiser. If you're making a rule book, make it one rule for all. Other negatives: - There is a bed sheet for a duvet - No windows in the dorm at all, it's like a cave - Smell of smoke that comes through the AC at random times of day Positives: - Balcony/terrace is cool, and they do free alcohol some evenings - Cleaners were sweeping/cleaning regularly - Lady on the reception was lovely - Location, right on the beach and in-between bars/clubs All in all we had a pretty rotten stay, would recommend for couples/people looking to get a good nights sleep. Would recommend if you're looking to party until god knows what time, meet other backpackers and like a cold shower.

Staying in a hostel is based on luck, especially depending on the type of room Mates that you are going to have during your stay. But this hostel was great. I was able to meet a lot of cool people, some stayed from the holiday season and some are also solo travellers like me. The staff are also awesome and very nice and the place is kept clean. It might get busy on peak season but it could also be fun and they also have tie ups with local bars.
