Stayed there for five nights with my wife. Lovely place whose owners John and Bee (sp?) are so helpful in giving you tips on what to do and where to go. It is a small family run resort and they work so hard to make people happy which we appreciate a lot. The island tours they have leave right from...

El Nido already speaks for itself but staying in Caalan Beach Resort made the whole trip exceptional. John along with his family and staff made our stay as in we're relatives visiting. They arrange their own in house tours so the group is almost felt like a private one and since you tour with resort guests, you get to meet...

The owners and staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We made a last minute reservation for their biggest quad room, which would be cheap for those travelling with friends. Unfortunately the hotel needs a little work and a tidy up in some places, a shame because it wouldn't take much to go from our 3...

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The location is excellent - at the very edge of El Nido, so away from noise and hubub. The trike service is a Disney ride all of its own, but extremely convenient. The resort grounds are clean, nice, and pretty if unspectacular. The rooms are clean, and what you would expect from...

John and Bea are the best possible hosts - they were incredibly helpful in recommending various places to eat and things to do in the area. As they used to live in NY we found it invaluable to have someone who sees things the way we do (we are from London). They are really the resorts unique selling point. We...

I am honestly not so sure why this place has such high ratings. We felt that the stay was okay if not below average. For American expats to be running this place, this place should definitely have higher standards. This kind of place would never fly in NY or LA. I get it's a "budget" option, but for $70-$80/night, that's...

We stayed here for 6 nights and stayed in a sea view bungalow. The resort is is very relaxed. Don't expect international hotel standard, this is very much a home stay style. That is part of its charm. On arrival your directed to their office on the main street where they arrange for you to be transferred on their trikes....

A really one of the best places I have ever visited in term of welcoming and family feel, many thanks to John and bea, always ready to help and thanks to the lovely Naoko, right the place is about 10 min walk from town and 5 min by tricycle free for the guests which mean the place a quite far...

John and Bea run a great place. Modest accommodation but clean, comfortable, friendly and has everything you need. The location was perfect on the beach, just outside of town but close enough you can walk or they will give you a ride. We felt like we were at our own little private area without being far from anywhere. The food...

John is incredible - cant say enough great things about him. Genuinely nice guy who is also 100% committed to customer service. Resort is a bit out of town, about a 15 minute walk, but they have a couple of tricycles that ferry guests back and forth when you need it. Not an issue. Place itself is on its own...
