Fate caused me to stay one night in a hotel I SWORE I would never step foot into again. However a cancelled booking, a long flight, and my phone failing to pull up the web (to search for another hotel) led me to tell the taxi driver 'Sparks'... (albeit with a LONG sigh)... Have to admit the place was significantly... More

I went on a business trip to Jakarta and this hotel was the closest available 3 star hotel near the conference location. The hotel is in the middle of Jakarta's Chinatown, 40 minutes away from the city center, but 15-20 minutes away from other happening and shopping areas. I was surprised to see so many massage parlors and dancing bars... More

I work from my laptop, if you don't need internet at your hotel then skip this review. I had stayed at Hotel Sparks previously several times over the last 6 years, and always had a good experience. This time around the place is really showing it's age. When it was first built it looked like a fantastic trendy hotel rising... More

At 12.30am the thumping music from two disco/karaoke bars was keeping me awake (even though I was on the 6th floor!). I went to reception to complain, and the poor night manager, a nice man, but obviously unable to do anything, showed me the disco downstairs, where I asked the boss 'is this a hotel or a disco?' and the...
