We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour of a Tibet organized by David Li of Odyssey Tours who we strongly recommend. We loved the hotel. The room was decorated in Tibetan style and had all the comforts we desired. It is very close to Barkhor Street and the Jokhung Temple. It is in the old quarter and...

The Hotel is very well located in the old quarter of Lhasa. The Jokhung Temple is within walking distance as is the Potala Palace. It's old world architecture and design is particularly pleasing. The staff is very friendly and responsive - and knew more English than some of the Mainland Chinese hotels one has stayed in ! Has a lovely...

Been there about a week ago. The people who run this hotel are very nice and try to give the best service they could. Do not chose a room which is installed with a solar water heater if you are going in winter because the water will never get hot enough. The heater in the room was not good enough...

We booked this hotel through CTrip, one of the sites on Travel Advisor. It never occurred to us the it would be so difficult to find. We left our previous hotel at 8:30 a.m. and walked in the direction shown on Google maps for apps. Along the way we stopped at two hotels along Beijing Road to verify directions only...

Tibet Gorkha Hotel is full of characters in respect of its architecture, design, room layout, courtyard and even its people. Stayed there in August 2013 for 5 days and it was a brilliant choice. It is minutes walk to the famous Jokang Temple and also the Balang shopping street. Only comment I would have is the room is too romantic...

We stayed at the Gorkha Hotel twice on a recent trip to Tibet -- the first time was for a few days upon arriving in Lhasa, and then, again, for the last few days before our departure. We stayed in different rooms each time, both in the back, overlooking the courtyard. If I were basing this review only on the...

I have stayed in this hotel during my (unfortunately too short) trip to Lhasa. We all loved this little hotel: very quiet, great position, just a walking distance from the central square and surrounded by little shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious, very colourful. The bathroom was also quite big. Wi-fi in the room worked fine. We ate at...

The hotel had a very cozy feel to it. Both courtyard and rooms were decorated in tibetan style. Our room was huge, clean and I liked the nonconventional hotel style. - Though there was no door to the bathroom and the room was heated by an electrical heater. Staff was friendly and helpfull. Restaurent was OK.

The Gorkha hotel was a reasonable stay option for Lhasa. The rooms were nicely decorated with Tibetan touches. While there was no central heat, the combination of a space heater and warm blankets made it very comfortable to sleep at night. The beds were pretty comfortable for Chinese standards, and we had good sleeping once we adjusted to the altitude....

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It is a Tibetan hotel in the old town, a convenient location to temples and restaurants and shopping. We really wanted to stay in a traditional hotel and this one was very pretty. The rooms were nicely decorated, the linens were nice and clean and the comforters warm. The decor was beautiful...
