First the positive things: The location is absolutely great, with Nathan Road and Star Ferry very close by. On top you have a subway station just around the corner - so a very good starting point for exploring Hongkong. The stuff at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. Now the negative: We had a "suite" there, which was supposed...

Had the good fortune to stay at the Mariners Club for a conference. Guests rooms otherwise only available to seafarers. The location next to TST metro stop and with views of Victoria Harbor and Hong Kong Island can't be beat. The rooms though definitely made me feel like I was back in college, bare and slightly run-down furnishings and a...

Contrary to the name you don't have to be a seafarer to stay here, but it does help, as you get priority and a discounted room rate. As a retired seafarer simply provide written proof of you past profession. Don't expect luxury, and the rooms are starting to look a little tired and dated. But for the price, who cares!...

I stayed for 3 nights at the end of September. Excellent location in Tsim Tsa Tsui, being directly opposite an MTR station entrance and minutes walk from the Star Ferry. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and helpful. My airconditioned ensuite room on the 3rd floor (306) was large and clean, equipped with the basics. The bed was pretty firm,...

Another pair of splendid stays at Hong Kong Mariners Club. The 1960's building, still under threat of closure due to avaricious developers, continues to provide superb value accommodation in Central Kowloon. So if you're an ex or serving mariner, this is the place to be! Our fifth visit in 2 years was up to standard. In addition to the facilities...

Hong Kong is expensive, so if you want an affordable, clean, central location, try the Mariners Club. Food is basic but good, rooms are dated, but clean. Service by staff is very helpful. Good in house laundry service, £4 for a large bag to be washed and dried.

The Club is in a fantastic location, especially with pouring rain - there is an MTR (subway) entrance right next to the club's entrance! It is located just behind The Sheraton, just a stone's throw from Nathan Road at the harbour end. The Airport Express shuttle bus stop is also very close, adjacent to the MTR entrance (route K4, stop...
