Great location, less than 1 minute walking distance to Jordan MTR station (exactly next to the hotel main entrance) Airport : from airport you can take A21 Bus straight to the hotel, get down at station no 11 (as at now) and walk across the street, the hotel is right in front of the bus station Shopping : ranging from...

This hotel is right outside the Jordan MTR station, so it's mighty convenient for someone who wants to sat in the area. You can rent an in-room router for $100 HKD/day, the connection was pretty fast. The hairdryer is kind of odd though, and when we used it it just felt like a warm, gentle, summer breeze, but noisier -...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December '14. The hotel is actually a converted office situated on Nathan Road in Kowloon. A good location as you can walk to the riverside, Mongkok and the MTR very easily. The staff were friendly and efficient so no complaints there. The room was very small and basic and quite expensive,...

Got a shock when I first entered the standard room that I booked. It was no where close to the photos on the website. The room was really tiny with the bed facing head on to the door. I prefer the door to be at the side of the bed rather than facing it. The window was as good as...

Fantastic location on the main road close to the trains, buses, restaurants, shopping etc. The rooms are clean, though a bit small, but considering you're in HongKong where space is at a premium. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend this hotel. Good value for money.

I was staying on the 8 Floor, window was facing the wall of the next building. To my surprise, I was told that the free Wi-Fi is only in the hotel lobby, not in your room. You have to pay for the Wi-Fi if you want it in the room. Other than that it is very basic hotel room, no...

Excellent stay in Shamrock hotel. Staffs were very professional and polite, esp the concierge. Location - like many other reviews, less than 1 minute walk to Jordan station (C1). Late night supper, just cross the street, and its temple street, many food stalls opened till 2-3am. Very easy accessible around the hotel. Most taxi drivers know the hotel location too....

This hotel had a great location was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The fact there was no wifi in the room was disappointing but I paid for it one day and it was a good service. The breakfast left a little to be desired as the western food was a bit of an after thought....

I recently spent 5 nights at the Shamrock Hotel in Hong Kong. we had booked 2 rooms for 2 couples. Both rooms were upgrades and my husband and I had the larger of the 2 rooms. Both rooms were very clean and had all the amenities expected for the price we paid. Staff were very helpful and extremely pleasant at...

Having secured a very decent rate (for the area), I was prepared to settle for some compromises. But it turned out to be a good choice. The location is extremely convenient, its front door a 30-second walk from Exit C1 of Jordan MTR station. The room was a decent size, service was efficient and generally friendly.

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
