I've stayed in Wharney GDH for about 9 years now with 2-3 times a year in regular basis for business, because the location is so convenient from the Wanchai HKCC. This April I went to HK for personal travel trip with my husband, and beside staying in another hotel in Mongkok, we planned to stay in Wharney in our last...

This hotel is ideally situated for everything. It is between central and causeway bay. There are two MTR stations CLOSE by. I suggest you book directly with the hotel you can negotiate a better deal. The lobby is impressive, our check in was speedy. Staff were all very helpful considering it is a busy hotel. The room was a good...

I've stayed here many times and the hotel is in very good condition overall. Some rooms are bigger than others and they do have a bigger size beds and doubles but they always tell you they don't. I know because I've stated many of the different rooms. It seems when you check-in you always get the smallest room available but...

It has become a usual stay for me in Hong Kong. The staff is friendly. The rooms are not so small for Hong Kong size. I am only 600 meters away from work and the hotel is located in the middle of the shopping and dining area of Wanchai. This time there was a construction work going on in front...

I would agree that the location of the hotel is convenient and the lobby looks nice. However, the room is under my expectation, especially the bathroom. Here is what I feel: -old room: needs to be updated: facilities are very old. - old furniture - poor hygiene in the bathroom: moldy and dusty -ugly bathroom - dark hall ways

Especially for those seeking to make the most of their HK experience (business or pleasure) without having your hotel be the main attraction or expenditure. In Wanchai with easy access to most HK Island destinations, it's a clean and well-run hotel with good (if not spectacular) amenities just enough to fit your normal needs. There was a special HKD20/day mobile...

The Hotel is not far away from Metro Station Central in the Wan Chai district (good area for drinking in pubs). the Whan Chai ferry pier is not far away too. The Hotel is clean and the rooms are for HongKong conditions not that small (although they are not huge). The walls are a little bit thin, so sometimes you...

We spent a few days in HK recently and stayed at the Wharney. Location is great but the room is really small. Bathroom can be a problem if you're really tall. Ideal if you're going to spend most of your time outside and just need a basic room for sleeping. Lots of restaurants near by.

Not a hotel I would normally stay in, but my friend was staying there. Paid very slightly more for exec room, which was old but large for a HK hotel. Same price elsewhere would give you a smaller room. Location is decent to walk to convention center and near the train station. Other hotels are nearer convention center but further...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
