Disney Explorers Lodge garners praise for its cleanliness and spacious rooms, with the explorer-themed ambiance offering a unique and welcoming experience. Guests appreciate the hotel's proximity to Disneyland and the convenience of shuttle buses. However, the high cost of food and some additional fees have led some to question its value. While the service is largely commended for being friendly and efficient, there have been occasional reports of less satisfactory interactions. Despite some concerns about the basic nature of the rooms and missing amenities, the overall experience remains a favorite for many travelers.

Our favourite hotel still gives the charm we always keep coming back. Rooms are very large, prices are fair for the experience. Theme is very well done. Free bus to and from Hong Kong Disneyland is good. Porters always willing to help out with luggage, loading unloading and even deliver to your room. Check in is quick and you can check in early as they will hold the luggage till the room is ready. Room has good queen beds, they provide 1 universal power adapter for you and there is filtered water, coffee machine and small fridge. In-house food options are reasonable to pricey. After a late return from HK Disneyland you only have room service for meals, snacks and drinks. We never get a chance to do the free activities during the day they provide or the pool as we are usuallyin the park.

We still love this hotel and will return.

The happiest hotel for Disney fan kids, great location if your visiting Disneyland they have shuttle bus and entrance for Disney hotel guests. They have cute gifts for birthday celebrants. They don’t give bottled water they have water dispenser in the room. Lots of activities for kids.During our visit the pool was freezing cold but the kids got to enjoy the meet and greet next to the pool. The cast are friendly, helpful and approachable. The room are huge and descent they provide baby bed .

The title of my review is a bit harsh but you will see why.
We booked a room initially for 2 nights in the middle of July through Expedia but due to visa issues with my wife we had to postpone until late July/August. We contacted the hotel direct to try to move the room dates to 31st July 2nd August but was told it was not possible because we booked through a third party but they would try to help if the third party (expedia) contacted them. We explained this to Expedia and they did contact the hotel twice to be refused 100% they would not cooperate so we had to cancel the rooms losing all the money we paid and had to rebook.

Notwithstanding that when we finally arrived at the hotel it was magical for my daughter. The hotel is amazing so well designed ( there is a review on here that says otherwise but I think they need to get a life) Everything was great from the welcome and check in procedure to the Checkout. Free shuttles to the park and easy to get to from the airport $20HK and its own MTR station but you still need to walk out and find the shuttle bus to your hotel.

I recommend booking a character breakfast so that the kids can have a photo opportunity with Disney characters.

This place is 100% geared for kids as it should be, plenty of activities on rainy days great food for all and the Deluxe room we had was fantastic, two double beds coffee tea 24/7 disney on TV.
The grounds were beautiful well manicured and you were able to viosit the other 2 resort hotels if you wished which were a short walk away.

First time to stay in a Disney Hotel and my kids’ first time to visit a Disney Park. We’re very excited with high expectations. Explorer’s Lodge did not disappoint. The hotel’s facade and the lobby looks great with the adventure theme. We also met Donald Duck on our checkin day. The staff are very cheery and welcoming. We were allowed early checkin so we can already rest and late checkout to have more time swimming. There’s a gift shop in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay in the room. Comfy beds, Disney movies. Only negative feedback is, we didn’t have toiletries. We didn’t know and we weren’t informed (possible I just didn’t understand the front desk) about the plastic policy. Love that there is water dispenser. Used it for drinking and for coffee/tea. Location and shuttle buses made it very convenient for going to/from Disney Park. Still far though if we want to take a short rest. Disney is far from the city if we wanted to buy more affordable meals outside. It would be nice if there are bidets in the toilets. Since there are notes in the room about the towels, they can inform us about the missing toiletries and about the water dispenser (I learned about it in FB group about HKDL). Also would be convenient if there’s direct connection from airport to Disney train. Need to take the train and pass by Disney station and go back.

I stayed here with my wife for two nights as we were stopping at Hong Kong airport as part of a flight connection.

Disneyland and their hotels are on Lantau Island, the same island as the airport. Unfortunately, whilst the Disneyland website makes it very clear how to get there from the centre of Hong Kong, there is not much information of what options are available if travelling from the airport, so we opted for a taxi. Not sure if trains or buses do operate from the airport to Disneyland, but it would be useful if this information was included on their website.

The area that Disneyland is in, is absolutely stunning, and the taxi ride from the airport to the hotel showed us some amazing scenery. We have visited all six Disney resorts around the world, but Hong Kong Disneyland is in the most naturally beautiful location of all the Disney parks.

The hotel has a beautiful view over the sea and the grounds have some really pleasant gardens.

We visited in June which is Hong Kong’s stormy season so we were pleased that the hotel kept the pool open until 22:00, otherwise we would not have got to use it in the daytime when the storms were happening.

The room was comfortable and the hotel shop (thank goodness) sold waterproof rain ponchos which were definitely needed for the time of year we visited. Buses to the theme park ran about every 10-15 minutes and did not stop at any other hotels, making this the quickest and easiest way to get to the park. It was walking distance, but due to the rain we preferred to get the buses to the park.

We loved the theme of the hotel and it was a really pleasant place to spend time. We were only there for 2.5 days but could definitely have stayed longer.

From the moment we arrived we felt like valued guests. We stepped out of the taxi and the cast members working on the door took all of our baggage from us and directed us to reception, and were told they would take our luggage directly to our room for us within 10 minutes! We checked in and the cast member at the desk gave me a birthday badge after seeing my DOB was within the next 10 days. We were super lucky with being allocated a room on floor 3 which was the same floor as reception, which meant we had easy access to the main facilities! We ventured into the merch store and by the time we got to our room our bags were ready & waiting. We ate at the quick service Cafe downstairs and the pizza was good, albeit very expensive! You can also take the food to go so I had waffles & ice cream from the comfort of my hotel room, with Disney movies being shown on the tv channels! Bliss!

The pool was open until 10pm and we did attempt a swim but the water was fairly cold so we changed our minds!
The rooms were so spacious and the theming is brilliant. Rituals toiletries were a nice addition! There was also a surprise birthday cake towel & card left in the room!

Free shuttle buses to the Disney park were very quick!

Easy to walk between the other Disney hotels if you want to explore them, like we did! You also get vouchers in the room for money off merch & food purchased within any of the 3 hotels!

One of the best Disney hotels we’re ever stayed in worldwide. Would 100% recommend and hope we get a chance to visit again in the future!

This trip to Hong Kong Disneyland was the worst experience in my life with my family and friends.
My family and friends, from 1/12 to 1/14, in addition to booking two days and one night at the Explorer Resort Hotel, we also had three itineraries at the same time, which were the Disneyland Hotel and Disney Hideaway Vacation Packages for three days and two nights. Before the trip, we discovered The official website we ordered from Disney (a 3-day, 2-night paradise vacation package) did not match the itinerary we received, so we made two international calls (one of which lasted half an hour) and called Hong Kong Disney’s customer service center to inquire. The customer service staff We were clearly informed on the phone that the 3 days and 2 nights Disneyland Hotel Disneyland Vacation Package we ordered was "due to an error on the official website". As a result, our order was only for two nights in a hotel and would not include all the items listed on the Internet at that time. (Tickets for two adults, breakfast...), but the customer service staff said they would make a note to inform the park hotel about this, so we made three orders and hurriedly re-ordered tickets for all adults from the travel agency. By 2024/1/12 I went to the Disneyland Hotel counter on the same day and asked and confirmed the matter again. The counter said that the customer service center did not inform me at all, so I was completely unaware and had no idea what happened, so I was unable to assist. Because of this situation, we handled it at the counter until the afternoon of the same day. Let three families waste their time.
Disney executives should pay attention to this situation. I took photos of the official website information I mentioned above when ordering. I can provide supporting evidence. Thank you.

Great staff! Very attentive and they went beyond and above. Good job!

To the management: you need to think of sustainable amenity kit without a fee like any other 3- 4 stars to 5 stars hotels. They offer wooden comb, even the packaging of toothpaste and shaving cream etc etc are all paper-based and for free! They are basic hotel amenities. You can’t just let someone check in and pay additional $$$ for the BASIC amenities. Government policy is to go green.it did not say to sell another product for guest to use. I know we are not required to buy but without these basic amenities, you will just be considered drivethrough motel just to have few hours to sleep.

I included a photo from other hotel I stayed here in HK.

Overall clean and comfortable room. Nice staff! Great food at the buffet!

I will be back!

At first appearance the hotel seems satisfactory, but now after having experienced it for two days the sad reality is a poor example of the hospitality, service, and staff Disney properties are known.

The main resort is a stripped down, mid-level variant of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Really generic version and more like a moderate level hotel at Disney World in Orlando. No charter and built to the minimum standards to appear like something it clearly is not.

Rooms are decent but the mattresses are single tops with no box spring. The result is like sleeping on a futon. They provide the bare minimum of towels and wash clothes (2) each for a room with three guests.

The staff appear to be nothing but walking robots that have no personality, provide minimal help with questions, and provide a cold, off putting feeling to the guest experience.

The pool staff are useless and rude if English is your main language. Especially rude was a larger blonde haired Asian attendant, who was nothing more than a sour, rude, off putting human who belongs nowhere that involves customer contact. She is the personification of a horrible service worker. If you stay here and see her, avoid her at all costs.

Unfortunately, if you want to experience Disneyland Hong Kong there are minimal choices for Disney Lodging. The other options should really be investigated further before you chose this property.

I've been here 3 times and it was okay stays, However the price is not okay. Price range is almost nearly same as Disneyland Hotel, but longer queue at front desk, bus. They charge premium price like 5 star hotel in Hong Kong but provide a self serve type hotel like a holiday inn express, or moxy. They charge 10% service charge but don't really have a service here. There is a bell desk but there is actually no bell service. They asked us to pick up luggages at luggage room outside and cast member did not care even our Uber arrived.

Those are the bad things i wanna point out for Disney travellers:

Room is spacious but weird design with no bathtub.
All 4 room types are all same just different views. So make sure dont book the expensive one.
You have no welcome amenities.
Bathroom amenities provide once per day and need to buy extra at hkd50 per set.

If you want to charge this price, better need to enhance the service. The entire 8 floor needs to renovate as Club Floor and add Explorer Club.

it is the same as the Singapore 3 pin socket like the UK. There is a multi-adapter in the wall socket near the desk which you can use if you have other types of socket. There should be a high powered outlet for hairdryer in the bathroom.
