1min walk from MTR station causeway bay with a good connection to the main attraction sights in Hong Kong. Clean rooms, however quite noisy and not very spacious; cat jumping on bed as soon as you open the door. Wifi connection very unstable, small common room, difficult to get to know other people, but helpful staff in terms of how...

This place is decent for what you pay. The staff are friendly and the rooms are fine. Keep in mind that the building this place is run in has a notice to say that the hostel is being run illegally, so books this place at your own risk (photo of notice is attached). We stayed in a private room, just...

The check in was located inside an apartment building and was difficult to find at first (Tip: its right beside the Burberry Black and Blue shop). Once we found it, we had to squeeze into a small lift to get up (very standard for Hong Kong apartments). The lady at the counter was very polite, she greeted us in English...

Even I have booked Studios HK they have put me in Wang Fat hostel on the 4th floor. The room was horrible, very dirty and quite dark. The overall impression bad. The bathroom was dirty. When I asked why they have given me the different hostel, the staff said that is the usual everyday practise and that the room i actually...

Probably one of the worst places I've stayed but considering how much rooms are in the city it was a good value, close to grocery stores, close to public transportation interesting area felt safe, decent room, ok service, ok wi fi, just what you would expect for the amount you pay, but felt like I was an illegal sublet

Good place, good location, it is almost the entire building with the hostel spread around. It is hard to find the place it when you are not familiar with the neighbourhood, and if you arrive at night. To shower with hot water you must turn on the heater for half an hour at least. It is alright for few nights....

We stayed in a private doublebed room for one night and we are more than satisfied. The room was clean, had a TV, a spacious bathroom with shower and A/C, which was amazing in hot and sticky Hongkong!! It is really easy to find and the staff was not the friendliest, but okay. There is a 24/7 supermarket on the...

The few things I care about at hostels is cleanliness, hot showers, good wifi and location. I think that's not too much to ask, in fact, very basic. The street this hostel is on is hard to find if not familiar with the area. The directions given were not great. But when you see the Burberry Store, it's very apparent...

The hostel is clean, efficient and ok comfort wise. The staff are efficient, but not friendly and I think this doesn't help the communal atmosphere. Additionally, as some reviewers have noted, this is an illegal hostel in a residential building - so you get some dirty looks from the real residents. The location is great and very easy to get...

The night staff do not speak English, but during normal working hours the guys with good English are there, i especially recall that fiendly Jamaican guy. Hostel is situated in Paterson building, entrance is between "Aesop" and "Burberry" shops, entrance glass door does not have any sign it's hostel inside, it is just regular living building entrance, you just come...

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
