Dont stay here if you are expecting a hotel-like experience. First of all, as you arrive at Chunking Mansion, you will encounter a lot of africans and south asians hanging around. Some may sell you stuffs or service. Just ignore them and go straight to the elevator. Take note of the guest house's block and floor, as each block will...

Probably the hotel manager (including receptionist and cleaning service) was well aware that his service was displeasing. He sent a "No Show" notice to the hotel booker I used to book this hotel, whereas I did show up and stayed here. Hence, I couldn't write a review about this hotel on that hotel booker's website. When I argued why he...

Location of this guest house is pretty good, close to bus from the airport and within walking distance of the harbour. It’s pretty difficult to find, as the building has several blocks with separate elevators, so make sure you ask the owner which block and which elevator. I arrived at half past 8, but had to wait until 9 AM...

It is easy to find this guest house. The owner really friendly and she always check the room everynight before 11 PM and our room always clean everyday. The owner give me the information for nice destination in Hongkong. And she also offering the cheaper ticket of Disneyland, Ngong Ping, The Peak and Madam Tussaud. Since the price of mineral...

I just stayed four nights at Maple Leaf in a single room. The lobby of Chungking Mansions is looking super dodgy, but don't be put off, just walk to elevator E and ignore pesterers trying to talk you into staying at their guesthouses or stell you stuff. Room was extremely small, 2m x 2m, but I did not plan on...

We liked the location of the Maple Leaf and for Hong Kong it is really a clean and good value for money place to stay. But since my husband and I are both tall (5'10 and 6'16) the room was too small for us, the last day we felt slighly claustrophobic. The building itself has a bit of a dodgy...

You are only fooling yourself if you think this place is value for money. We booked a twin room, were shown a room with bunk beds when we said this is not what we had asked for, we got shown another room which appeared to still be occupied. Eventually had to pay more money to get a twin room. The...

On first arriving at the Chungking Mansions we were wondering what we'd let ourselves in for as it's really shabby and smelly and full of people trying to sell you things. Make sure you go straight to the reception in the centre and ask the security to direct you to the correct block as there will be loads of people...

“When you get into chungking mansion, get in, don't stop for the people trying to sell you stuff in front, have the number of the elevator and the floor memorized, find the right elevator, watch out, for each section (A, B, C...) you get 2 elevators going to odd and even floors. If you're not to hig up, you can take the stairs.... sometimes the elevators are slow, and full, you might have to wait a while.”
