This is one of the cheapest hostels in Hong Kong. Location is excellent, very near a metro stop and star ferry terminal on Kowloon. Hostel is inside a small, dingy shopping mall so first impressions aren't great. Hostel is fine for money. It's not dirty but could be cleaner. I have fairly low standards though. It's a gym and that's...

I don't know how they can get away with it. The whole place is infested with cockroaches. Baby cockroaches are seen crawling around the water container, where one tries to get hot water, or on the floors.. Every morning half a dozen adult cockroaches are lying dead or crawling along the hallway. As I have a phobia for cockroaches, I...

I only made it as far as a room inspection before i turned away, rude staff and terrible unclean and damp room conditions. I'm not a fussy guy either! Honestly the only positive is that the door locks so you are secure, would probably be good for drug addicts or people on the run from the law, otherwise just sleep...

We booked in to the New Hong Kong Hostel for One week In August 2012. The owner owns several of the hostels in Block C at Chungking Mansions and as a result we actually ended up in the "Garden Hostel" on floor 16. The Hostel was absolutely perfect for our needs. We had an immaculate room, which was cleaned daily...

I had booked a room there last week, but when I arrived in the morning they had given the room away already, because they say it's very busy and don't take reservation. I had a hard time getting at least my deposit back.

Please read all the negative reviews written prior to mine and just consider this a repeat experience. There's much confusion about which Garden Hostel is which, I myself had mistakenly booked a room at one in the Chun King Mansion rather than Mirador before straightening it out and ariving at the "true" Garden Hostel here in Mirador Mansion. Trust me,...

Avoid the Garden Hostel in Mirador mansion at all costs!! Management were so rude, they overcharged me (charged me for four nights, but the receipt they gave me said three, and when I asked them about it, they told me to "shut up" and "stop complaining! Also, rats on the garden terrace. And you can't access the garden for five...

It is very difficult to trust reviews for garden hostel because so many travellers get confused by "new garden hostel" or "garden guest house"! The pics that seem to have been added on here are not from garden hostel, they are from garden guesthouse. The rooms in the actual garden hostel (3F mirador mansions) and its sister hostels are much...

This hostel was one of the worst hostels i have stayed in on our entire trip. We booked through hostel bookers and the picture of the room on their website is NOT the garden hostel. the room we stayed in was disgusting, bed sheets and towels smelt of curry, the room looked like a public bathroom, the owners were intrusive...
