Let's start with the good... Location is ok.. When you walk out of the Hotel turn right and walk about 100m and the road opens up into a cool Huton with lots of eateries.. Turn left walk about 300m and you're at the metro. Easy walk to Tiananmen.. And that's it... Now the bad.... Dirty Rude staff Sandbag pillows.. (really...

I have stayed here many many times. Yes the rooms aren't the cleanest and the service isn't the best, but what you get is a basic ensuite room, in a GREAT location at a fantastic price. It can be tricky to find at first but as soon as you find it you'll realise it's just 5 minutes walk from Tiananmen...

Bring your own toilet paper! The taxi's do not like going here. They will act like they don't know where it is. You can tell them and show them, and they will still act like they don't know what you're talking about. The hotel itself was nice... In the '80's! They definitely need to update their rooms and facilities. It...

I stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights in April and traveled on my own. Its sufficient for a 2 star UK standard hotel. No frills. Eat outside the hotel for breakfast (hostel bar up the street). Rooms are adequate and en suite fine with hot water (spasmodically). You are allowed to smoke in all hotels bedrooms in China (except...

Have stayed here twice, mainly because of the central location with a group of 8 other travellers. Its right in the middle of the Hutongs (back alleys) with some great market stalls, sensational street breakfasts and some local characters that make it a truly authentic experience. accommodation is basic but fine.

Well, first off it seems that no one in Beijing actually knows where this hotel is ? My cab driver got lost and asked for more yuan. Service was okay when I arrived and improved later, the room was simple but I was not looking for anything luxurious. My bathroom however was dreadful, no lighting and it flooded when I...

Stayed here at the beginning of a G Adventures tour. Taxi had a hard time finding the hotel even with the address written in Chinese, he had to call them twice to get directions. At first the area does not look that nice, but its actually not bad and about a 10/15 walk to a good area with lots of...

I spent just under two weeks at the Far East Hostel, staying in the hotel portion of the building. It was a pain in the backside to find; no cab driver knew the address and even when I pointed it out on a map I still got dropped at the wrong place and had to wander around for an hour...
