This was a regular room. Our fourth hotel on this stay in China. Even the smaller ones in smaller cities were much nicer, particularly the bathrooms. This bathroom was very small and the shower was not nice like we had become used to. Olympic Park is within walking distance though so that was great. Carpet was stained. All in all...

The hotel is ok if you have to be at the area. Not as expensive at the hotel next door (V Continental) and its a proper hotel. Rooms are decent and clean. Breakfast is nothing fantastic and if its not included in the rate, just walk out to eat. 2 mins away there are plenty of cafes. I placed the...

My review relates only to the Top-Floor, Park-View rooms. This floor is the club-level floor and includes the executive lounge. Huge room, Open View, Clean, Lovely modernly equipped bathroom with both beautiful bathtub and separate rain and body modern shower. Very large comfortable bed. Even nice book cabinets (with books and stuff) :-) The executive Lounge serves a nice breakfast,...

I had a conference at the Beijing International Convention Center (very close to the "Bird's Nest" stadium). Colleagues said the only decent hotel was the Intercontinental, but the meeting organizer recommended the Continental Grand Hotel. This hotel has a huge plus -- there is a direct, indoor connection to the convention center (a big plus in Beijing with its air...

A typical up market hotel. Comfortable room (non-smoking but we could smell smoke), breakfast OK. However, the main gripe we had was the communication skills of staff, especially on the reception desk. We were incredibly surprised that they could not speak even a smattering of english (and we know no Chinese). Communication was therefore very difficult, even on basic questions...

Put your expectation low, Reception not speaking English, mini bar empty, rooms are noisy, they are possibly renewing the hotel and they start work at 8 am with no respect to the guests comfort, only the bellboys were helpful especially Jack. Breakfast buffet is good. Internet average. most of the Taxis do not know where this hotel is, very diffecult...

Here for a conference next door, the hotel looks good but hasn't understood hotel service standards, especially in the restaurant. Hard to get attention, told at 9:15 pm that food was no longer served, poor English, far better to eat out! Room was nice and comfortable though. Would benefit from a decent gym, but the alternative is to run out...

I recently spent 3 nights during a recent business trip. The rooms were nice and clean. The bed was a little too hard for my preference. The lobby was nice and the two restaurants I ate at were good. The location is great if you have business at the connecting conference center.

As mentioned elsewhere, the hotel is convenient for anyone using the conference centre next door, although it is via a warren of corridors to get there or walk around the outside. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I found the room and bed very comfortable - didn't watch tv so can't comment. Hotel wifi was OK - but remember China...

North Star Continental Grand Hotel is right next to the Beijing International Convention Centre, and is presumably meant for the guests to the convention centre. The rooms are good (if pricey). The location is quite good, with several nearby landmarks and malls. Rooms are of reasonably size, clean and well equipped. The TV is digital but has largely Chinese channels....
