We stayed here as part of a Sinorama tour. We stayed in much, much nicer places in China, but in both Shanghai and Beijing, the hotels were a little worse for wear, but still acceptable. Breakfast was okay. Location was 45-minute drive downtown Beijing.

This hotel was part of out Sinorama tour package. It was a reasonably good hotel with lovely grounds. However the restaurant service was very poor . I got the impression that the staff just could not handle the number of people staying there.
This was the old Loong Palace, taken over by Wyndham. Down town it is not, but it is a well kept and well maintained hotel with good services and easy to use free Wi-fi.

We booked a private driver via BlackLane. It was no problem to reach the city center. The cost was $200 USD for 5 hours for 4 adults. You will have to call their office in Germany as their app uses Google Maps for your location & the Chinese Government Blocks all usage of Google.
