Situated at a convenient location to many important places of Chinese Capital Beijing, including Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Great Hall of People, Museum, Business District, Art Centre... etc Though the Hotel is Old, it has the Chinese Charm and very friendly staffs. Breakfast and Meal buffets are superb . The Hotel is generally clean, though it seriously needs a refurbishment...

Amazing location (close to Forbidden City etc.), the Grand Hotel Beijing is a very traditional "Party" hotel with an imposing sense of design incorporating traditional Chinese finishes and beautifully crafted heavy wooden furniture. My suite was wonderful and well equipped (with amazing views) but the overall feel is quite severe. Enjoyed being there but it didn't feel like a fun...

Good location, walking distance to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Walking distance to 2 metro stations too. Staff were reasonable, helpful, obliging. Breakfast was reasonable too but way overpriced at A$30 per person...the room was sold without the inclusion. Room was very large and comfortable. A good choice!

Over the last 16 years I have stayed in this hotel six or seven times and I keep going back because of its old flavour and of its excellent location, just off Tien An Men. The rooms defined as "palace view" have a magnificent view on the Forbidden City and the parks that surround it. The furniture is in Chinese...

This is a lovely hotel located near the Forbidden city and other "must see" tourist sites. The public areas are extremely impressive and my room was great- spacious and beautifully furnished. The only downside was the very slight hint of tobacco smoke- my room was fine but the corridor outside testified to the Chinese national addiction to nicotine.

although I've rated this hotel as 4 of 5, it was more for the location. The biggest disappointment was the room. I specifically asked for a non-smoking room and didn't get one. When I went to change my room, they 'upgraded' us, however it was the same thing. The stench of smoke was unbearable. We ended up staying in the...

Excellent hotel. Especially for a congress at the CNCC congress center. a Modern big room with two queen beds, fully equipped. A very nice view on the Olympic stadium. A very beautiful indoor pool + jacuzzi with free access. Gorgeous breakfast (chinese or continental). A bit far from the city center but easy accessible by metro. And Taxi are quite...

Our travel agent recommended this five star hotel as an authentic Chinese hotel. The picture from out front looked lovely but upon arrival the only Chinese part was a seperate facade. Checking in we were told we did not have a booking( our travel agent told us he rang them to confirm before we left). Twenty minutes after faxing our...

Very good Hotel in the center of Beijing. A few meters away from Tian an Men and the forbidden City. The Rooms are quite vintage but very clean and good isolated. The breakfast buffet is various and very international. The price for it is low.
