The hotel's location cannot be beat, right off Tiananmen Square and overlooking The Forbidden City. I was quite pleased when after I complained about my room the first night they upgraded me to the "Executive Suite" for the same price. The room is very nice, but not quite a five star like room so to speak. The furniture seems a...

Absolutely a charming hotel where one could sense the history of the building. Rooms and hallways have lovely interior. The food in the restaurant was good but since we ate there quite many times, the similarity of the selection day in day out turned a bit boring. Also, we had one not so nice customer service experience (they charged us...

Great hotel in a great location for a great price. I would highly recommend it for location near Tianneman Square and Forbidden City. Convenient to metro so easy access to all attractions. Luxury hotel for a reasonable price in a great central location.

You can’t get any closer to the Forbidden City. Every time you open your window’s room the spirit of the emperors dances with the curtains. The staff was very amicable and their English was acceptable; especially the concierge who spoke perfectly well and was always on top of things. The only unusual moment happened the morning I was supposed to...

Once owned by a wealthy Hong Kong man, he donated it to the Chinese government. When there do not forget to drink tea at the organic tea house run by Helen Hwang! Love the buffet. Grt seafood selection. Even has Movenpick ice cream from Switzerland!

We stayed at this hotel for a few days in Beijing as part of a tour last November. The hotel was smart, the rooms were very spacious and nicely finished with a great view of the Olympic flame. The buffet breakfast was very good except for the inadequate coffee machines that were more suited to serving a small office than...

Its a solid inexpensive option for something pretty close to 5 star experience. Great location, good rooms, good base for exploring the city. A little bit old fashioned and lacking a bar - what they call a "bar" is really just a room served by waiters with little english.... not very cosy and kind of pricey. Also I'm puzzled by...

Everything is first class. Rooms are super nice and spotless. The pool is it's own tropical getaway. Super spectacular!! If you could pay to just visit the pool, it would be well worth it. Amazing fitness area. Lots of exercise equipment, free weights, and stretching room. Staff keeps the equipment clean, and stocked with towels and water. Very close to...

Great location, fantastic staff & nice hotel from the lounge to the concierge. The breakfast buffet had nice mixture of Asian & Western options with 30 foot ceilings..My daughter & I travel led together, she is a vegetarian & the neighboring hotels are connected with a lower level walk way where we found a Japenese restaurant that was able to...

Want to absorb Chinese culture and history? Stay here. And not expensive. Used to be owned by the Fok family from Hong Kong. They have now donated it to the State! I was fortunate to be the guest of a Director. The buffet is great! Indulge in Movenpick ice cream from Switzerland. You can't buy from stores in China or...
