A very good alternative to the fancy hotels and modern possibilities in Beijing. It is lost in a huton not far from the bell tower. After my 4th time in Beijing, I appreciated the fact that I really lived the Beijing experience among the Beijing people. That is the real advantage of this place. The hutong house is nicely renovated...

This hotel is pretty, there's no doubt about that. When you walk in, you really feel like you're entering someone's home. The beautiful entry way, the common area, the rooms, all are pretty and feel very authentic. When we arrived, there was even a young girl strumming on the Chinese mandolin. We certainly felt like we had arrived in China....

I stayed here with a couple of friends and we absolutely loved it! One of my friends was from China also but he confessed that he had never stayed in a Hotel like this. He was, as we, couple of friends from Mexico, fascinated. If you are looking for an original place located right in the middle of where regular...

Stayed here for eight nights and thoroughly enjoyed this unique courtyard style hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable, although if you re expecting a Western hotel chain experience you'll be disappointed. Price included a reasonable breakfast. Felt strong sense of security without it being obvious. The location is excellent. Located in one of the...

I stayed at the Old Beijing Squarevwith a friend for 2 nights. On arrival at about 3pm nobody seemed to know we were coming, our room wasn't ready so we had to wait for it to be cleaned even though it looked like there were hardly any other people staying, and then they put us in the wrong room type.......

We just returned from staying at the Old Beijing Square Hotel. Our taxi from the airport had some trouble finding the hotel, but after asking a local for some directions we eventually tracked it down. We were 2 couples and stayed in the Family Garden Rooms, which were quite spacious. I asked for 2 quiet rooms but the hotel staff...

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay at the Old Beijing Square Hotel. If you truly want to experience the city, the location could not be beat. The maze of neighborhoods known as the "hutongs" provided excellent walking adventures. The 350-year old courtyard home, now a small hotel with 18-rooms, was an oasis of calm in the busy, huge...

Beautiful place. Has a very authentic Chinese feel. The staff are helpful and friendly and speak English well which was a plus for me. Rooms aren't huge, but they suited my needs. Beds could be a bit more comfortable, but good enough. The location is perfect. Short 5min walk to shops and restaurants and is in the centre of Beijing....
