We found our way from the airport to the hostel quite easily because of the guidelines available on their site. They let us check in immediately even though it was early in the morning. The staff were quite helpful and we have no complaints about the services we required. The rooms are a bit small as are the ensuite bathrooms. But they serve the purpose. The mattresses are hard but that is quite usual in China hostels. The fabulous thing is location! Taking into account that Beijing is a huge, huge city, Sunrise ends up being close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The snack market is a 5 minute walk and Beijing's "5th Avenue" is 10 minutes away. The subway is 15 minutes away and it comes quite handy to visit other spots in the capital.

The information that was sent beforehand was helpful. I arrived very late (after midnight) and was well taken care of shown to my room which was clean amd the bed was hard (as is the fashion in china) bit comfortable enough. The shower toilet was clean enough especially by local standards. It was easy walking distance from then forbidden city and surrounding attractions.

The staff was nice, the location was really good. The bed and bedding was good but the shared toilets was really stinky. We had wifi inside the room. They had a cosy bar where people could sit down and chat.

My daughter arrived in Beijing around 12 hrs before us, she took a taxi from airport to hostel and was charged 200 yuan (a complete and utter rip off)!!! On arrival at the hostel she was allowed to check straight into our room non of this after 2pm malarky. We arrived around 4pm from airport by taxi paying just 100 yuan!!!! The girl on reception was excellent, very friendly and efficacious. The room had a single bed and a set of bunk beds, and my daughter being small and dainty got the top bunk. My husband took the single bed which had a decent mattress on it whilst the bunk beds had very thin mattresses which meant each time you moved you could feel the wooden slats. The room was quite small/compact but clean, the ensuite bathroom again was quite small but did the job. The

Great place in the center of Beijing, very helpful staff, free wifi and computer for those who doesn't have own laptop during trip. Local pub could be a little bit cheaper, but You could just buy beer, and drink it in front of hostel :)

Great staff and great location. We got a free upgrade straight away without asking for it!!! The food was really nice and reasonably priced. It would have been nice to store valuables in a secure locker either in the dorm rooms themselves or a safe at reception. Having said that, the hostel was a safe place to stay. Nice atmosphere and the staff are all hardworking and helpful, thank you

The location of this hostel was ideal if you wanted to see all the main attractions in Beijing such as Tiannamen Square, Forbidden City and even the night market. The room was clean and for the price it was fair. The help we received from the reception was over and beyond any help I have ever received from any reception. They were knowledgeable about bus routes to further away sights and local restaurants which served Beijing specialities such as Beijing Roast Duck.

The hostel was OK for the money. The location was excellent, you can walk to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden city and the underground isn't that far either. The hostel could be a bit more clean, but it is OK if you just sleep there.

I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2013. I had a twin room which was pretty comfortable, the bathroom was ok and relatively clean. Sunrise is in a great location for seeing the main sights, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Wangfujing etc. The staff were super helpful and it was great to be able to organise a tour to the Great Wall through them. The hostel is good value, but basic.

I am not too particular or prissy when it comes to lodging, I am just looking for a clean, comfortable room. The room we had at this hostel was neither of those, unfortunately. The bathroom floor was constantly wet and dirty and the smell unbearable. The sheets were stained and yellowed and did not seem clean. The positives are that the staff is all very helpful and friendly and it is in a fantastic, quiet location.
