I was very bad for not writing this sooner because Lucky Family Hostel really deserves it. First, when i arrived to Beijing in the middle of winter girls at the reception immediately took off their scarf and gloves and handed them to me because they said i cannot walk without them cause i would freeze (true). They didn't have to...

We have been several times in Lucky Family Hostel now. So that means something. Location is good in a quiet hutong. Rooms are basic but also nice priced. You will have to ask for new towels, because they only empty the dustbins. Receptionists speak English and are helpful. I think we'll be back!

We stayed 4 nights in this hostel. We have been nicely welcomed and despite our early arrival the room was ready. We booked a double room with bathroom. It is basic but clean and beds are ok. Bathroom is Chinese style meaning shower above toilets. The hostel is well located in a hutong street close to a subway station. However...

Very good & details directions to the hostel through MRT. I like my single room: decent space for 1 person, comfy beds, equipped with A/C & flat TV, also have a chair + working table, very good price. BUT they only have 1 SHARED toilet + 1 SHARED shower for the whole 3 floors hostel. Unbelievable and this is totally...

The service was great. The staff was very nice and helpful. We booked (in the hostel) a Kung Fu show and a day trip to the Great Wall, that included transportation, which was great. (The Kung Fu show wasn't the best though, it was quite childish. Maybe you should try the acrobatics show instead.) The room wasn't as clean as...

Good location and occasion to experiment life in a traditional hutong, close to the subway and major sites. A lot of small restaurants/shops around. Easy to find. Very helpful staff. Good housekeeping. Minimarket and tour desk. Draught beer service gave a good conviviality spirit, to meet other guests. Don’t stay next to the common rooms during the WE, if you...

Besides good location and good access to the underground, the 6 beds dorm I have shared is not recommended. One advantage is curtains that gives privacy, but: 1. No chair in the room so upper beds occupants have no option to sit anywhere. 2. There is a sink in the room, but without illumination, so you cannot use the mirror...

My friend and I stayed at this hostel for 3 days. We loved the authentic hutong alley feel though as two females, walking late at night made us nervous at first but we never had any trouble. Hostel is just off a main road and a 5 minute walk to the subway station which is very convenient. There is a...

I arrived in the Nanyuan Airport in Beijing and called to get directions to the hostel they had no clue how to explain it. Made my way on my own by busses and subways to find the hostel. I reserved the four bed dorm online prior to my visit. once i got in the girl at the counter said that...

The hostel is well located in the Hutongs, and 5 minutes walk from the subway. The young guy has good English and is really helpful, he booked train tickets for us. The bathroom walls were semitransparent. Bit strange but okay

“The wifi isn't very strong. However, there are some computers you can use for free with good internet connections so this does not pose a problem for emailing home! We had a room next to the common room and thought it would be noisy however it never kept us awake. We were either so tired from our exploring or there was a quiet time imposed!”
