The service and advice here is friendly and spot on! The location and value were quite good. The place is a little run down though; the bathroom had a leak, so the floor was always wet. While the sheets were clean, the bathroom needed a good scrub. We went on a tour they organised to the Jinshanling great wall which...

Rude receptionist, not a nice area to stay, no subway close, wifi is terrible, cold and dirty, I would not recommend this place at all, the door lock is a tiny locker. No left luggage, Not much else too say

I stayed here for 3 nights in November. The hostel is very well located as you can walk to numerous places of interest in about 30 minutes. I stayed in an 8 bed dorm which was quite spacious (4 beds on each floor) and the bathroom was satisfactory. The wifi was great. The staff are very helpful. Rachel and Rick...

We were spending 4 days in the City Walls hostel. The very friendly owners of the place provided us with a great overview of Beijing with a focus on the nearby places. Furthermore, they helped us a lot with very good restaurant tipps & sight seeing suggestions. On day 3 our hosts helped us to book a hike on the...

Stayed here for a few days when visiting Beijing by myself. The facilities are good and it is everything you would expect from a decent hostel. The location is the highlight as it's incredible and although it may prove difficult to find initially, you grow to love the surroundings. The staff are really helpful and on arrival they brief you on...

The rooms in courtyard are basically all within the ground floors and are facing the main yard, in a square shape. at the beginning it was a bit annoying to us, because you hear every conversation & sound coming from the yard (and probably, they hear you as well) Although, the location of the hostel & the amazing kindness of...

City Walls hostel is great!! Great location - close to the forbidden city and the park. Not too far from public buses that will get you anywhere. Staff are really lovely - very friendly and helpful! Clean and working hot showers are a bonus! Only negative is that the ground floor dorm room is the thoroughfare for the first floor...

We stayed here for 3 nights early October and found it just fine for what we needed - in a very local, quiet hutong of Beijing, relatively close (10 -15 min) walk to the subway, easy to get to all major sights, and with really helpful owners - they provide a handy sheet of bus/subway/taxi info to the main sights...

Stayed for 5 nights. We got in late about 3:00am and were very grateful for the helpful welcome we got. The location is quite central walking distance to the drum and bell towers and a longer walk to the Lamai and Confucius Temples. The Forbidden City is also close. They organized a good tour to Jinshaling Great Wall. The place...
