I've visited many places, but Mombasa Backpackers made hit with me. In my opinion the main of the place hightlight is comfortable localization (close to supermarket and close to the beach). Friendly and professional staff know how to care about their guests and make them feel good. The owner personally supervise everything. He is an experienced traveller, so his piece...

Me and my friend went travelling through africa for 2 months. We stayed at the backpackers in the beginning of our trip for 5 days. We arrived there after a 10 hours bus trip from nairobi at around 11 pm. The kitchen was supposed to be closed at 10, but we called the hostel to ask if they still could...

We stumbled onto this place through a Lonely Planet recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The food was good, and the atmosphere was even better. The first night we arrived we were quick to make a lot of new friends. After a day of strolling the beach, which is just a short walk from the hostel, we embarked on an...

I have stayed in a lot of hostels in Europe and East Africa and have never had as bad an experience as I had here. I am surprised by the amount of positive reviews and actually wonder if they are genuine. The whole place feels incredibly dirty and I am surprised it hasn't sprouted legs and carried itself off to...

We spent three months in Africa and stayed in many backpackers and this one was by far the dirtiest and most unkept of them all. The bathroom with the shower on the first floor is so dirty you'll want a shower after your shower. Some of the staff are friendly and helpful and some have no business working there. The...

We're seasoned backpackers and have stayed in some budget dives in our time, but this place takes the cake. The only positives are that it is close to the beach and Nyali shopping centres, but there are far nicer and better value places around - many of which are not in your guidebook. But if you do want to book...

We have just checked out and moved to another place to stay in Mombasa this morning after an awful stay at Mombasa Backpackers. We went on the Lonely planet recommendation and though it may have been as described a year ago, it is far from it now. We were staying in a quad room which was tiny with a double...

I stayed at Backpackers with my two friends for 5 days. We wanted to relax. The beach is only 5 min walk away and there is a pool and a beautiful, peaceful garden. The town, Nyali, is not more than 5 min walk away and there are many great cafés and restaurants. We stayed in a dorm-room and that was...

We stayed in Mombasa backpackers for 3 Days and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere! The beach is just so close (5 min) so that relaxing from busy town is easy. We loved the international contacts and the service. The food was delicious. We enjoyed breakfast:) We did a nice trip to Diani beach organized by mombasa backpackers! Looking forward to visit...

Spend three weeks at the backpackers while working in town. From the beginning on it felt like home, staff is more than friendly, chef is a genius and coming home after a hard working day and jumping into the pool was one of the best feelings ever. You get to know so many different, great people, you can have a...
