Stayed at Porini Lion Camp with my mate in August for 2 nights and it was the best part of the entire trip. Flawless hosts and great service throughout. We had a private tour with Maroonu & Jackson who were awesome and provided us with...More
We stayed for 4 nights in November. We had an incredible time at the Lion camp, with so much wildlife right on the doorstep. The resident Leopards, Fig and Figlet, greeted us on our first game drive and it carried on from there with drive...More

We drove from Nairobi to Mara Siria camp first (about 5 or 6 hours, if I remember right). From Nairobi to Porini Lion Camp is proabably about the same. We flew back to save time. About 50-60 minutes via Safarilink small plane. Many people want to go there during the time of the wildebeest migration, but there are trade-offs with many more tourists at that time. We were there shortly after the migration (November) and there were relatively few tourists and we therefore got great views of the wildlife without many other vehicles competing for viewing angles.

Weather was great. No bugs at all. I was actually shocked. Took multiple brands of repellent and never touched any of them. Cool in the AM, but occasionally got very warm in the afternoon, but cool again by Sundowner time.
