We had a fabulous four days in the Kicheche Mara Camp. Andrew and Ann and all of their team were so attentive and helpful. We were expertly guided by Gerald - we managed to score a ‘cat-rick’ (lions, leopards and cheetahs) three days in a row. Nothing was too much trouble. We’d return tomorrow if we could!

One of the best camps ever. Here you feel at home and welcome. All your dreams come true. Staff is very friendly and attentative. Food is superb and the nibbles at sundowner are delicious. Breakfast in the bush is just another highlight. Tents are spacious and well equipped.

After some delays due to COVID we - my wife and 3 kids aged 15, 12 and 11 - eventually made it to Kenya for our now belated 50th birthday treat and I can truly say Kicheche exceeded our expectations. From being picked up from the Mara North airstrip to being 'dragged' back there to leave we were fantastically looked after by our amazing guide, Saruni, and by the great team in the camp. The organisation, accommodation, food and service were exceptional but the game viewing was plentiful and extraordinary. easy day we thought could not surpass the previous day yet - somehow - each did assisted by Saruni's magical ability to predict where the animals would go next! I would unreservedly recommend staying.

The entire staff, our guide (shout out to Jimmy!), and the camp could not have been more perfect. We had a family tent which accommodated five of us - including our 3 young adult children. It was beautiful combination of open air and luxury. Our children are still raving about the turn down service, which included hot water bottles (chilly at night, even in July!) The conservancy concept provided a more intimate experience as well - highly recommend staying on the Mara Conservancy where you can go off-road to experience the wildlife. Our experience on the national reserve - where we had to keep to the roadways - was a disappointment after experiencing the conservancy. Food was wonderful - though nothing could hold a candle to the animal experience. We also spent a night in the "fly camp" - which is a "true" tent camping experience, which was the absolute highlight of our trip. If you are going to be on the Mara, and want to fully experience the savannah, the "fly camp" (also known as the Mobile Camp?) is a must do!

Stayed at this camp for 3 nights mid-late June following a stay at the sister camp in Kicheche Laikipia. This camp is on a larger scale than the one we had previously stayed in, in Laikipia but did not take away from the service and experience we had. We were welcomed into camp by manager Andrew who briefed us on the finer details of camp. Our tent was on a par with what we had experienced at Laikipia. We were put into a family tent and so had two single beds and a double. The tents had everything we wanted and needed, towels, charging points, toiletries and fresh water. There were also facilicities to be able to get clothing washed. The food within camp was nothing short than fantastic, whether it be breakfast or sundowner snacks out on the plains or lunch and dinner in camp. All meals were well fresh, tasty and well presented. Our guide George was brilliant. He knew where best to try and locate the various animals and the best positions to capture iconic photographs. His passion for the animals and the job he did shone through. This also went for the staff in the camp who went above and beyond to deliver a gold class service. I would highly recommend this camp to anyone choosing to stay in the Masai Mara. It's perfectly located within the Mara North Conservancy where an array of animals can be seen and experienced.

Upon arrival at the Mara North airstrip, we knew we were in for a magical experience. On our drive to the property in our open air land cruiser, we were greeted by animals along the way. Our driver, Edward, was so welcoming and made sure we could stop and take advantage of any animal encounters on our way. Upon arrival, we were fed lunch and were able to unwind a bit in our family tent. Andrew the manager really took care of us. The tent is lovely with plenty of the niceties like toilet, shower, hot water, couches, nightstands, closet space. After dark, they provide an escort to and from the main areas and your tent as the animals are that close. We awoke one morning to buffalo poop outside our tent steps. And we heard many animals overnight. It really helps make the experience special. All the meals and camp staff were exceptional. Even the bush breakfasts, and sundowner snacks on game drives were yummy. But the real star here was our Masai guide, Gerald. He was absolutely wonderful. Ensuring we got up close and personal with the animals. Always finding us great breakfast spots and even dealing with a flat tire on a game drive. We also met with some Masai women and learned about bead jewelry and the cultural significance. I will never forget our stay here.

This camp is on the larger side so was a bit of a shock coming from the much more intimate Kicheche Laikipia Camp. However standards are very high and service is faultless. At the time we visited in mid-June the camp wasn't fully booked so we had private game drives most of the time. Andrew the camp manager told some fascinating stories over dinner. Food and facilities all perfect. They go to special effort to cater for tastes/intolerances. Our guide George and trainee Lydia were great. Good humour, knowledgeable and again went to great effort to secure my husband great photo opportunities. We even had the pleasure of a leopard on 3 occasions! It's true that wildlife viewing starts at camp, which is unfenced. We had the company of monkeys and a bull elephant, alongside giraffes. Highly recommend this camp in a beautiful valley location.

Fantastic experience at Kichece. Samburu, our guide, was incredible and he make sure that every daily wishing list was achieved. Cheetah, leopard, lion, elephant, hippo etc, we saw everything. Andrew and the rest of the team made our stay at the lodge very comfortable and enjoyable. Great food and excellent service, one of the best sleep in safari. Top properties in Masai Mara

Four of us spent 6 nights at the camp and were so impressed with our welcome, the wonderful staff (thanks Boni, Ann, Sally, Fred, Charles and everyone else), the tasty food, the comfortable tents with daily laundry service and many other touches. Above all, our thanks go to Peter who was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped us spot some amazing birds, gave us ringside seats to several kills and allowed us to spend long periods observing and photographing the fauna and flora from terrapins and fire ball lilies to the cats and elephants. We appreciated being able to stay out on our morning drives if necessary - unlike some camps that tend to operate regimented timetables. Last, but certainly not least, Winnie who handles all reservations and admin, is an absolute diamond. She is a superb problem-solver and nothing was too much trouble. She went well beyond the call of duty and we cannot thank her enough for helping with PCR Tests. We also appreciated the professionalism of Peter, our driver in Nairobi.

I was impressed with so many things on my visit here— the camp, the staff, the hospitality and service, the game drives and breathtaking scenery of the Mara North. Everything had such attention to detail, from the staff greeting whenever we got back from safari, the birthday songs and dance, the takeaway cups for morning coffee, special dishes for specific dietary concerns in our party, the daily laundry service and cleanliness of the rooms, the knowledgeability of our eagle-eyed guide and night watch; the list goes on. Many thanks to Andrew, Saruni, Moses, Samuel, the kitchen staff, and everyone else for making it such a memorable trip. Kicheche Mara Camp is a wonderful safari experience, and would definitely visit again.
