We recently went for a 3-night trip to Maasai Mara. But when seeing this big number of camps, how do you decide where to go? Maybe there are specific requirements (wanting a bush experience, suitable for kids or - like for us - we preferred to be in one of the conservancies around the game reserve). But in the end,...

If you are planning a trip to the Masai Mara and want a real safari experience away from the tourism of the main reserve - stay in a conservancy at a Kicheche camp. There are 3 luxury tented Kicheche camps around the Masai Mara located in beautiful unspoilt surroundings with 100% silver standard Masai guides which make a huge difference...

We had a wonderful 4 nights at Kicheche Mara. Andrea and Manuela are superb hosts and wonderful company. The whole team at the camp will do everything within their power to make your stay unforgettable (That they all knew our names within minutes of arrival was a lovely touch). The setting for the camp is beautiful and ideal for getting...

Kicheche Mara Camp is situated in a beautiful valley in the Mara North Conservancy. The tents are spacious and luxurious, but your in a bush camp meaning you will have a bucket shower. And that's what it's all about, having a bush experience. The animals are roaming freely around camp, and they're not only zebras. Our guide was excellent. He...

We spent the last 3 nights of our Christmas safari here in the most beautiful perfect valley with a small river below our tent. No fencing at all - one night a giraffe loomed up as we were sitting round the camp fire. The very comfortable tents are ranged along the valley and each has a great view of whatever...

This was the 7th game camp we have visited and certainly the best experience so far.(Please note that the Kicheche Bush Camp came a close second during an earlier visit to Kenya). The area of the Mara North conservancy is very attractive and variable from the plains down to the Mara river. The camp itself is in a beautiful and...

My first experience of a bush camp and I wasn't disappointed; this is 'camping' on a whole other level. The tents were spacious and surprisingly comfortable with lovely big verandas. There is no running hot water to the tents but, when you need a shower, hot water is provided to the bucket shower which is marvellous. In the morning you...

We stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of February before moving to Kicheche Bush Camp for another 5 nights. This was our 4th visit to a Kicheche camp but the first to the Kicheche Mara Camp in its present location having stayed at the KMC in its original one. Wow, what a stunning place, the tents are well...

This was our seventh visit to Mara Camp and it feels like our second home. Andrea and Manuela are fantastic hosts, they make us feel like one of the Kicheche family. They are so passionate about Africa and wildlife which makes the conversations at mealtimes very interesting for us as we are addicted to going on safari holidays! This was...
