Entumoto is an elegant, authentic, stylish camp with a history going back to the 1920's. This family owned safari camp is run by Swedish and Maasai families. It is situated in a beautifully secluded valley overlooking the Masai Mara. It has a unique position within its own wildlife conservancy with direct access to the park. The camp is beautifully decorated offering comfortable and spacious accommodation with good quality fresh local food. It’s excellent for families with children, as it has a pool and four large family units. We have a friendly team of local staff who provide great service and are highly rated by our guests. We also have experienced guides who will make your stay truly memorable. Our guests are encouraged to partake in our community projects, which include a local school and a rescue centre for young girls. Community engagement, our conservation ethos and the prolific wildlife are the pillars providing extremely rewarding experiences for all our guests throughout the year.

Our stay at Entumoto Safari Camp was the most unique and special travel experience of my life. The days at are pure magic. Wake up at sunrise take a private safari, eat breakfast in the field surrounded by animals, come back for a delicious lunch and relaxation. Then repeat in the evening time with a sundowner and perhaps a night Safari before a great dinner. My 40th bday was so perfect and genuinely one of the best days of my life thanks to the staff who went above and beyond. The staff was incredibly kind and sincere and really made us feel at home and like family. We feel like we truly made friends and connected with so many people during our stay. Leaving the camp and looking at my wife we both were teary eyed after our goodbyes. Special thanks to John, Mark (who i look forward to racing in the 100m during our next visit), Lewis, Emmanuel, Wilson, Daniel, and most of all our guides Purity and Alex. It really is a special crew of wonderful, genuine people. The facilities are amazing. It's definitely a glamping experience (hot water, spacious beautiful rooms, big comfy beds and yummy food) but with the no wifi in the rooms (only a short walk to the main tent), dim lights under incredible stars and a view of the Savannah where you can see elephants and hyenas and zebras from tent you are really transported to another world. In an amazing trip throughout Africa this was the highlight and we are already planning on making it back. I hope everyone can experience the magic of Entumoto.

Property's Favourite Review
We visited with our two children 9 and 11. This was a perfect introduction to safari for them. The family tent Eagles Nest was absolutely wonderful. Possibly the largest space we’ve ever experienced in the most remote corner of the world. Entumoto is just a hidden high away of serenity and heaven. I can’t think of enough superlatives to describe our experience. Everyone is so attentive and helpful; Wilson who put our hot water bottles in each bed and brought us coffee and hot chocolates in the morning. No mean feat in the dark up a very steep incline! Wilson you are a hero. Sebastian and Lewis looked after us at meal times. The food is just out of this world. It’s hard to believe that you are so remote when you have so much amazing food. We had many breakfasts and lunches out in the Mara such a truly magnificent experience setting up our picnics next to grazing wildebeast! The camp has its own conservancy teaming with their own game. In fact on the way to the camp from the airstrip we saw lions, elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeast all kinds of antelope. We didn’t actually need to do anymore safaris after that! However the vast views of the Masai Mara are just unrivalled. The camp has its own watering hole which attracts all kinds of game. I know you probably won’t believe me but the zebras come so close to camp you can practically touch them. On the way back from one game drive there were 400 buffalo On the way to the watering hole. It’s just unbelievable. The camp is very eco friendly and they are very conscious about educating guests to protect the Mara and environment. There is the garden where they grow everything that you will eat - well worth a tour round to see. It’s all very sustainable and self sufficient. But really the stand out part of our trip were our safari guides Purity and Alex. What can we say about our dear friends who took us on such wonderful adventures for 4 days. We experienced such wonders with them. But most importantly they were funny and chatty, knowledgeable and caring. They both care so much about their Mara protecting the wildlife and environment. We felt blessed to have had their company even though it was so brief they will remain our friends in our hearts forever. Thank you Purity and Alex for your expertise and kindness. One day we hope to meet again.

Dear Candyfloss26, Thank you for sharing with wonderful feedback.Entumoto is what it is now because of our passionate dedicated team that everyday when they wake up they do what they do best to make sure all our guests feel spoiled while being taken care of fully. To receive a positive five star review we know its not easy and it gives us confidence to spoil our guests. Your compliment to the chef for his satifactory art work on the meals is motivational to all the kitchen team. Our organic garden which am glad you took a tour makes it easy for our chefs to prepare fresh meals. Our core mission here is to make sure our guest are happy and at the same time we are in harmony with nature that we cherish so much. Our waterhole is unique and am happy you got a chance to get close to some animals. Wilson,Lewis purity and Alex appreciates you for the special mention of them by name.We pride ourselves in our entire team and on your review in particular Purity and Alex kept you entertained and you became friends. My favourite part of this kind gracious review is your gorgeus title and it has become our favourite review. Thank you for choosing Entumoto, We look foward to your next visit soon, Warm Regards.

My friend and I really enjoyed our stay here. It is a small camp, so you get individualized attention. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was great, and they use vegetables from their organic garden on site. The daily game drives were spectacular. The views from the tents were AMAZING. Absolutely stunning. We even got a chance to go hike up to the top of the hill with a Masai guide. The tents were spacious and comfortable. So many little inclusions made it a great stay: free laundry, free stainless steel water bottles to keep, etc. There is 24/7 security, and escorts to walk you around the camp when it is dark. Wake up calls come with coffee or tea and biscuits. Animals wander through the camp, so be alert. Also, the grazing buffalo may wake you up at night. The only (somewhat) negative was that the wifi was only available in the main tent/dining area, and it could be a bit spotty. But with such incredible views, it is easy to forget about your electronic devices.

Beautiful place, amazing staff, very flexible programs, and best of all, amazing safaris. Although not as luxurious as some others, Entumoto is authentic, clean, comfortable and appropriately decorated for the environment it sits in. We highly recommend Entumoto and would definitely visit again!

I can't say enough about the wonder of our stay at Entumoto. Elephants, giraffes, zebras, baboons, waterbuck, buffalo, and gazelles all visited the watering hole and grazing area in front of the central lounge and dining hall. Our excellent guide, Isaac, made sure we saw all of those plus lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests, ostrich, hippos, and crocodiles on safari in the Mara. The tents were comfortable, though it can get quite chilly, and well stocked with everything we needed. But beyond even the wonder of the landscape and animals was the care and attention of the staff to make sure we had whatever we needed to enjoy our stay. We made use of the opportunity to visit the Girls Rescue Center and local Masai village. Both were amazing learning experiences. I highly recommend staying All-inclusive if possible. We stayed in a family tent which was quite a hike past the dining area and lounge. If (when!) I come back, I'll request Rhino Ranch, which is close to the main buildings but still has an excellent view of the animals that come to the watering hole. Bottom line -- highly recommend!

Entumoto is a unique gem of a place. It is nestled in the midst of a valley in a private conservancy. What made it more special is that the conservancy is owned by the local community and Entumoto supports the local schools and also educates the children on the importance of conservation . The few rooms means more personalised service by the kind staff who mostly live within the area . Zack who always happy to bring us refreshments after our long game drives. We were pleasantly surprised by the game that visits the camp, with 16 elephants outside our tent one afternoon. The food was deliciously prepared by the talented chefs with many fruits and vegetables lovingly tended by Emmanuel in their sustainable garden. Of which we were given a lovely tour by John. We have stayed in lots of other camps in Mara however the unique setting and vision of Entumoto has won us over. We hope Entumoto gets a lot of support as the local community benefits directly from their success.

This was our final camp of our stay in Africa and "saving the best for last" was never truer. We were the ONLY guests staying the nights we were there and were thus treated to a once in a lifetime experience of the staff's full attention. The setting is nestled at the base of a hill in a small valley with a view of the sun setting over the Maasai Mara and a small watering hole that attracted elephants, buffalo and zebra every evening. The public spaces were cozy with overstuffed chairs and couches, a wonderful fireplace, books and games and just the amazing views. If there was something we wanted or needed, we hardly even needed to ask as they always seemed to anticipate everything. One afternoon I thought to myself, "popcorn sounds really good right now" - that evening before dinner what should be put out for us to snack on - yep popcorn. After a tour of their gardens I made a comment to my husband that the avocado they were growing looked amazing and would make great guacamole. Lunch the next day included an avocado salad that was basically deconstructed guac! We had dinner in the bush one evening where they packed us up and headed out into the wild where they set up a buffet line of tasty sides and amazing grilled meats to enjoy to the sounds of the crackling bonfire and evening breezes. Fantastic once in a lifetime experience! Only suggestion I would add here is for them to invest in a better way to provide hot water to the tents. As it is, wood burning stoves are stationed at each tent which provide just enough water for about 4-5 minutes of shower time for 1 person. Taking consecutive showers among tent mates is not possible without having them first restock the fire and allowing 10 minutes for the water to heat up. Another camp we stayed in used solar heating for the hot water and seemed much more efficient.

Dear Robert M, Thank you for taking your time to share this incredible five star review with us. The whole Entumoto family is delighted you had a fabulous time at our gem. Our only goal here is to make sure we give our entire guest the best authentic African safari experience ever. The team of experienced chefs joins me to thank you for the special mention and they are truly happy you enjoyed their art of culinary skills. Am happy you loved the coziness of our tents and the fireplace at our lounge. We love showing our guest our unique organic garden which am glad you got a chance to visit and got a taste of delicious avocados. My apologies for the hot water in the tent which was sometimes not enough for one, please note we have taken your positive feedback recommending us to switch to a more efficient water heating system to heart. I loved your description of your stay here "saving the best for last" which indeed was the highlight of your African safari experience. Thank you for choosing Entumoto, Please visit us again soon. Our family of four (Mom, Dad, Teen daughter and Teen son) spent 5 nights/6 incredible days at Entumoto. Our family loves to travel and has visited 6 continents and many countries around the world. During our many travels, we’ve stayed at luxurious resorts, modest neighborhood hotels, homestays, and camped out in the wilderness. When looking back at our travels, it is always the experience and the authenticity of the people that we encounter that determine whether the travel will stay with us for years to come. Entumoto is that special place/experience that will remain in our memories for a lifetime. Abraham, our fearless and charismatic Maasai guide and friend has forever made a place in our hearts. At the dinner table back in CA we reminisce over the adventures that we shared with Abraham. We will never forget the night of the leopard encounter! 😊 We were incredibly impressed with Abraham’s knowledge of the Maasai Mara and its inhabitants and we felt privileged to spend the days with him on the conservancy and the Mara. We also loved hearing and learning about the Maasai culture and Abraham generously shared some of his personal experiences growing up in a village close to the camp. Although coming from such different cultures and upbringings, we felt a connection, and will always be thankful for having gotten to know and learn from Abraham during these magical days. Our warmest gratitude also extends to the remaining employees of Entumoto. Mark guided our family through an amazing morning walk through the conservancy and, among other things, taught the family how to use bow and arrow. John, Entumoto’s manager, is doing an incredible job managing the camp (the unexpected, beautiful bush dinner was fantastic and brough tears to my eyes). From the dining room to night security, we were always greeted with smiles and kindness. Thank you to all the employees of Entumoto for providing our family with memories that we will treasure forever! Additional points for travelers who may consider Entumoto: - The tents are luxurious with incredible views. Everything you would expect from a 5- star lodge. - If evaluating other camp/lodge alternatives, the fact that Entumoto is located on a conservancy (and pays the conservancy fees) should be a deal breaker. This will allow you to view animals off road, on your own (as opposed to 10-15 jeeps at the Mara), any time in the morning and at night (the Mara opens at 6am and close at 6pm) and experience sundowners, breakfasts, and bush dinners in the wild, surrounded by animals. - Profits from the camp are used to invest into the Maasai community in the form of improved healthcare, libraries etc. versus enriching a single private owner. - The camp is unfenced, which allows animals to roam through the camp (there is always security guarding the camp and guests, so safety is not an issue). One evening, at dinner, we saw two leopards coming within 30 feet of the dining room and another evening we watched Mom and Baby elephants taking an evening bath at the water hole. Water buffalos can be spotted around the camp day and night. - In addition to the wildlife at the conservancy, there is easy access to the Mara. Entumoto provides the game drives in “open” jeeps vs jeeps with glass windows and/or vans with sunroofs. This provides a feeling of being closer to the animals that you encounter. At times, you can smell and even hear the animals breathe (including lions). They are right there, next to you. If you view everything behind a glass window, or even an open window, I doubt the feeling is the same. - The staff and employees of Entumoto are second to none. Everyone seems genuinely happy and work incredibly hard to make sure that guests have an exceptional experience. In comparison we spent a few nights at a different camp in the Mara, also a high-end camp, in the same price range. While everything was delivered as expected at the other camp (very nice, great views, kind people, 5-star accommodations) the energy and experience was not the same. Of our 2-week trip to Kenya, it is our days at Entumoto that will remain in our memories and stay with us for years to come!
