This is a decent budget guesthouse in Lamu with very Lamu-esque architecture. Very nice staff and a nice breakfast with Spanish omelette. There are too many flies on the ground floor which makes it annoying at breakfast. They need to get a fly trap or something. I think the pool attracts them. Rooms are nice with no air-con but powerful...

Great staff, very affordable. Nothing fancy, rather an authentic experience in a Swahili Guest House. The swimming pool was popular with guests, although I did not use it personally. Nice breakfasts, and overall a very charming place.

After 10 days travelling in a Safari truck Jannat (paradise) House was an oasis of calm for 4 serene days of donkeys & dhows. The pool & courtyard feel like a Morrocan Riyad with the call to prayer ruminating around the local roof tops. Breakfast was always freshly prepared fruit and a choice of eggs. The upper terrace is a...

The young Kenyan couple managing the hotel had excellent English and were very hospitable and helpful. This place is good value for money. We spent our first night in Lamu at a place charging 3x what Jannat House were charging and in fact enjoyed JH more. The rooms were comfortable and there were many shared outdoor resting areas with comfortable...

The toilet flush should be fixed on the first day, not on the third. On the other hand, it was eventually fixed! I want to emphasize the quiet (though not unnaturally so) courtyard cum poolside. Very beautiful. Cooking should be improved. Staff is quite helpful.

Jannat house is a really beautiful hotel. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The food is brilliant. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They can are all great Swahili teachers you'll come away with a few words definitely. The balconies are plentiful and have great views of the town. It's a great place to just chill and...

Jannat House is simple and comfortable place with lots of Lamu-ese hospitality. Caroline, Ayu and Cisa are fantastic and ensure that you are always taken cared off. Expect a real adventure in a tradition swahili style. Fan (no aircon), cold shower only (its not that bad as it's so hot all the time). Bathrooms are on the terrace and you...

Last few days in Kenya and we still couldn't decide what to do. Lamu was a perfect and relaxed way to end our trip of Kenya. People at Jannat House were great. Sent someone to pick us up from the airport. We were the only ones there so quite peaceful. Contrary to everything that we were hearing about Lamu it...

Just perfect. Lamu had some bad press in the last couple of months and therefore I was the only client of the whole month. I heard there were only 5 tourists on the whole island during my stay. I didnt see any of them. This being said, Jannat House staff received me very well and always with a smile and...

Just come back from Kenya, second time this year, i loved this contry very much and still need to be back in near future. This time I decided to visit Lamu; local people from Malindi (the city i live in when in Kenya) told me is a place out of the time. That is true, lovely place, calm, wonderful places,...
