During our stay in Kenya, Nairobi to be precise, we stayed in numerous Airbnb, hotels and suites, reason been was that we wanted to know more and have more of experience of the vicinity. At our coming, the fist place we lodged was the concord hotel and suites, I can assure you, we had the best stay there, my wife can testify. The best place to be if you are staying in Nairobi. Nice view, serene environment and perfect for the prize.
The service here is terrible. The staff never follows up with anything they say. Any special requests are ignored and you have to chase them for everything. Hookers are allowed to lounge in the restaurant upstairs and the lady owner allows them to be rowdy and make all kinds of noise disturbing others. We walked out, cancelled our order and the lady owner never even approached us later on to apologize even though she saw us in the hotel lobby (complete garbage) . We will never go back to that restaurant again. If you don't value people's business no point in staying open. Mind you it was always empty anyways, except for the hookers. Change your attitude you'll be more successful.
Really enjoyed this hotel. After being on a game reserve for a few days, this hotel was like a breath of fresh air. The staff was very helpful and the room seemed to be decorated tastefully. The business centre was adequate for getting some desk-time in. Would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a solid experience in Nairobi.
Horrible check-in experience. Too too slow. CheckIn time is 2PM, we arrived at 4PM and still rooms are not ready! When we showed we are not happy with this unreasonable delay, The receptionist lady who is the most rude receptionist I have encountered in my life, didn’t give a clear answer and kept saying we would call you once the room is ready. No apologizing no nothing and such an impolite behavior. Very bad experience. And finally when we got the room and entered it, the box where you insert your room card in to activate the electricity in the room wasn’t working. And they took forever to send someone to fix it. I am writing this review and until now no one showed off. Horrible experience!
I have stayed for leisure at The Concord before and was really looking forward to staying again, this time in advance of important appointments the following day. Check in was easy. The rooms are lovely - super large and comfy. Staff are helpful and attentive. Covid protocols are clear and adhered to -5 stars. My concern, and hence the reduction in rating, is that in an 86 room hotel, running far from full occupancy in these covid times rooms adjoining me we booked and occupied by a group traveling together. Apparently a current trend in Kenya is for groups of friends to book hotels and utilize them to drink and socialize beyond curfew hours. I was woken at 11pm, 1am and again at 2am by slamming doors, people within the group yelling to each other as they socialized and moved between their rooms - which I had been allocated a room I the middle of - and around the hotel. I asked the fellow guests at 1am to be quiet which they briefly were. When they returned to rooms and resumed outrageous noise again at 2am I called front desk. I did hear someone from staff come and ask for quiet about 15 mins later, it was quiet from then on. I discussed this with reception the next morning, no notes had been made of my complaint and she confirmed they had been at only 50% occupancy that night. This is not the hotel’s fault but if you’re looking for a quiet night, maybe enquiry upon check in as to occupancy rate and where other guests allocated. Given Concord is billed as a ‘luxurious escape catering to all your needs as a guest’ Management could consider allocating ‘quiet floors’. …
We had a three day stay at The Concord Hotel at the end of a two week visit to Kenya. The hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and full of the nicest most hospitable people I've every met. When we arrived we received a welcome gift and when we left we received a farewell gift! There is an ATM within walking distance from the hotel. Every question or need we had was happily tended to by Bevaline. If she was not available the remainder of the staff was just as willing to accomadate us. We had a late night flight back to the US and we were allowed to stay in one, of our three rooms, until later in the afternoon. Due to covid we also had multiple forms which needed to be printed out before our flight home. Those were printed out for us with no extra charge. I would like to thank you all for that. The hotel has three separate restaurants inside with great tasting food at a very reasonable price. They offer a shuttle service to and from the airport also at a reasonable price. Instead of paying per person you just pay one price for the trip. Made it very nice for our party of 5! They have free and secure onsite parking. I just can't say enough about this hotel. Please go visit the beautiful country of Kenya and when you do I hope while transiting through the country you choose to stay at The Concord Hotel. I promise you will not be disappointed.…
Stayed at this property for 3 (+) nights . Very clean & large rooms friendly staff . Avoided daily room cleaning owing to the situation but requirements were delivered at my door as requested . Temperature checks continuous sanitising of elivator / tables etc . Hand sanitisers in rooms , at each corner & floor Once I forgot my mask & came down the reciptionist offered me a mask saving me trouble to go up. Breakfast is delicious with a widely spreqd variety . Guests given gloves to wear . For any health conscious traveller Concord is assuring . Taxis can be a problem but the Hotel desk can arrange or one can use Uber / Bolt which are cheaper . The Property is located in parklands in a quiet area away from traffic , Security is very good. Hotel is ideally located just 7 minuits walk to Diamond Plaza (though walking is not very recomended) , drive to Sarit Centre / Westgate mall is barely 10 - 15 minuits away . There is a heated pool on the upper floors . The Hotel has 3 restaurants but only 1 is operational owing to the cov 19 . Overall I enjoyed my stay & look forward to visiting again…
This was a couples staycation. The facilities and the hotel room are excellent. It does feel like a five star hotel. However the restaurant was a completely different scenario with room service taking forever to come. The food portions were really disapointing despite the high prices. There was no value for money. We should have ordered food from outside the hotel. Kindly improve on this.
It was my first time staying here. The hotel is good value for money. We checked in very fast and we're shown to our room. It was super clean with all the amenities in place. The beds were very comfortable with soft pillows. There was a tea making facility, bathrobes and slippers. Visited the heated swimming pool and had access to the steam and sauna. There is also a gym on site. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of choices. I only had two concerns, the water in the bathroom had a weird smell and when we ordered dinner for room service, it came four hours late and it was already cold. I slept hungry. Otherwise I did enjoy my stay and would definitely recommend to family and friends to give it a try for a super staycation.
We aimed to stay at the Concord Hotel & Suites for 1 night before leaving the country following our holiday to Diani. We had stayed in another hotel of similar price point a week earlier but wanted to try something different. The offering suggested on the website is now dramatically different to the actual experience here. The restaurants have been combined into one with a reasonably large menu but not everything is available. The pool had what appeared to be kids swimming lessons in. We ordered room service a few items at around 7.30pm. This didn't arrive until 9.30pm but we're well versed with slow service in East Africa. However, the food itself gave my partner food poisoning that she did not recover from until late evening the following day. Thus we missed our transfer out of the country and very narrowly made use of our Covid tests. By the time we left the country we had only 5 hours left on their use. As we could not move we had to stay another night. We spoke to the reception and the manager of the restaurant but there was no sympathy. We ended up having to pay full price for the extra night, pay for new transfers out of Kenya, and even had to pay for the curry that poisoned her! The team here were unhelpful and it left a very sour taste to the end of our holiday in Kenya. Also, the TV in the room didn't work and even after contacting reception multiple times it still took 4 hours for somebody to come and take a look at it. He didn't fix it though and said it is the fault of the tv service provider. The Wifi at least was fast enough to stream tv shows. Was supposed to be a little bit of mid-range luxury before heading back to Uganda. Ended up costing us at least three times the amount we bargained for.…
