I stayed at the resort for three nights, overall I had a very good experience, the staff was very helpful, the food was excellent, and the facilities were exactly what I needed after a long day in Nairobi, especially the pool (there are not many places with such nice swimming facilities in Nairobi). The only thing I can think of as a negative was that there was quite a bit of noise coming from the training center early in the morning.
Although the reviews I read about the place were mixed I decided to stay there, and I was very positively surprised by the place - rooms are small but clean, with private bathroom, breakfasts are very varied and tasty, and the service is excellent and very helpful, they will do everything to help, there is a garden and very big swimming pool, the area around the hotel is safe and there are some shops and supermarkets, definitely will stay there again!
I spent a week at this place, participating in a workshop. Overall, the infrastructure needs updating - everything looks quite old-fashioned and tired, albeit the hotel is clean. There is no AC in the room, showering was difficult as little water came out of the tap, and the hot water system is dangerous (electric directly in the shower) and uncontrollable (choice between being burnt and cold). Otherwise, rooms are old-fashioned but OK. Internet is a big problem - wifi was not working half of the time, and otherwise very slow and unstable. Food quality is poor, with basically the same tasteless and overcooked food served every day. Breakfast is especially uninspiring. At least, the place is quiet and appeared to be safe.
My room would be difficult to access with a wheel-chair, but the time spent was helpful especially for meetings. Cold rooms during the raining season. Dining staff were helpful. The pool can be crowded, so choose low seasons for a more intimate time.
We stayed there with work colleagues in July 2018 and lost 3 laptops and some cash. Unfortunately we ended up being blamed for the loss. The hotel team was uncooperative in the search and demonstrated extremely poor relationship.we had to be evacuated.
Stayed for a night in August with family after a long day of flying. Our guide had to check us in. We never got a single smile from the front desk or various staff around the complex. The whole hotel is run down with little maintenance or care. The whole plumbing system needs replacing. My family had to negotiate between the cold and “blasting hot” levers when they all took a shower. Hours later when I took mine there was no water pressure. If you do stay here, know that they will charge you for breakfast (overpriced for what you get, approx $15 USD) but will make no mention of it until you’re done eating and get up to leave. On the following morning I had asked politely for some extra bottled water. When you check in there are two bottles available but that doesn’t last long when shared between two people for drinking and brushing your teeth. Staff said they would send someone down. A half hour later we had to leave to get something to eat and meet our guide. No guy, no water. I found a case of bottled water sitting in the hallway next to some dirty towels. No one in sight to let them know we had been waiting for water that was within 10 feet from where I was standing. Before I could stand back up from grabbing two bottles, a staff person darted out of one of the rooms and chided us for needing and taking more water. I was not impressed. I agree with a previous commenter who rated this hotel as “Terrible.” It’s worth it to spend more money if you can. I would recommend the Nairobi Serena. Totally different experience. …
My stay at the Methodist resort was great.the changes are tremendous. From the lush gardens to the rooms i must say i was really impressed and will be coming back soon with my family. The barbecue great
It's ideal place for conferences especially for people who love quiet environment. I took my family there for swimming and i can tell you for free the place is awesome. I don't mind going back there again
During my stay at the Methodist for one week I became very familiar with the place. This was mainly due to the friendly and helpful staff, but the surveillance boys and girls also made my time very enjoyable. Everyone always has a chat and that was very nice. Also the food was really delicious. The pool is absolutely fantastic. So for non-alcoholic drinkers and non smokers, I can really recommend this place.
From the time of check in Staff at the reception are friendly, assisting in every way to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast was Elaborate and they have Beautiful gardens, rooms are cosy and quiet. there is a restaurant next to the swimming pool where you can enjoy Lunch and Coffee
