the room is large and well equipped. The bed is very nice. The wifi is perfect. The restaurant is good, the breakfast is perfect. Above all, the staff is discreet, attentive and extremely kind. the hotel is on the edge of the forest in a very quiet place. In the early morning you can have fun watching dozens of monkeys play.
Beautiful hotel, amazing staff with great smiles and ready to assist, amazing drinks. Overall great place to stay when in the city and getaway from the hustle of Nairobi. We came in and were treated so well with very fast service. Thank you front office team and the manager Ayub for making sure sure my stay was perfect. Highly recommend.
Feels worn out, hotel staff although helpful are not warm or welcoming. Service is too slow here, you have to keep reminding them and drinks, especially beer is served warm. Food is less than inspiring. Mediocre at best. Their salad is served in plastic bowls, hahaha. What a joke!
I booked several nights choosing the half board package (breakfast and dinner). Everywere in the world "half board" consists of accommodation, breakfast and FULL meal (except the extras of course). For the Westwood Hotel this is not valid. In fact, the FULL dinner they offer you is, in real, limited to an expense of 1500 KHS (in practice a course) and you have to pay all the rest. the worst thing is that no one warns you of this neither on arrival nor before starting the meal. The kind waitress tells you this "little detail" only after you have finished eating and you have to sign the bill. In my opinion, deceptive and very incorrect behavior.
I checked into the hotel, paid and after seeing the room and the state it was in I refused to stay in the room. Due to the state of the room and service I checked out immediately. This was 3 weeks ago and they are refusing to process a refund. I have received confirmation emails saying they will process the refund and nothing ever happens. Now they refuse to process the refund because its considered a cancellation. They are taking my money for a service I was unhappy with and saying its a cancellation policy when it has nothing to do with cancellation. My advice would be to stay well clear of this establishment.
The rooms are very spacious and big. And ofocurse modern. The view was our room was amazing and we could see monkeys from Karura Forest even though they were abit hesitant moving my boyfriend and I from a smaller room but they finally moved us. However, The guests were very few and the hotel felt dead. The breakfast buffet didn't have a variety (i don't know whether to call it a buffet cause basically it was just sausages, bacon, fish fingers and potatoes, no eggs) and the fish fingers had a weird taste.
Went to Nairobi to visit family. This is a peaceful hotel right in the midst of lively westland district. Besides it's unique situation next to the karura forest, we found the staff most pleasant, helpful and polite. The rooms are large and cleaned on daily basis. There are monkeys for company right in the heart of Nairobi
This is a boutique hotel of only 30 rooms. It is easily 3 and half stars rating, not quite 4 it deserves. Situated in the West land District close by to many amenities. Two large shopping malls are walking district from the hotel. Security also is good. A very friendly staff. The back drop of this hotel is the beautiful Karura Forest with monkeys eyeing your food.. Rooms are large and kept very clean everyday. The breakfast is adequate with enough choice. The chef is at hand to make your eggs to your request. Glad we found this
Camera got stolen from my backpack while out for dinner on sept 16. If you want to be treated with respect and dignity, look for another hotel. It was our third time staying here, before the theft we liked the place. After this and especially how the hotel management staff was handling our case we got really disapointed and will never be back again and want to notice possible other guest about our case. After we noticed that the Camera got stolen out of my backpack we report it at the reception. The staff, including the General Manager Grace Joseph, did not support our case, even no appologies were made. As the camera was in a backpack they even suggested we were lying because the CCTV didnt capture us walking in with a camera. We were told to wait to report the theft at the police, as they wanted to investigate themselves. After 5 days we only received a handwritten statement of the housekeeper that she did not see our camera (ofcourse not, because it should have been in the backpack) and a written statement of a manager in duty full of false information about our report of the lost of our camera. We constantly have to call them ourselves, never received any update from their hand. We are really disapointed about the way West Wood hotel treats their guests, like it is a normal case that something gets stolen from their establishment. Their policy is that they will firstly investigate themselves and only if they find the thief they will report it to the police and guests. I wouldnt be surprised if their reply on this review would be full of denial and downplaying.…
very bad hotel and rooms and no AC and i paid fro 9 nights the i checked out after two nights on 7/3/2019 and until now they did't refund the cost for 7 nights it's 700 USD it's more than 3 months simply they are not professional so please don't go to this hotel
