The hotel grounds are gorgeous and despite being isolated, it does not feel unsafe. Strict checks at the gate and at reception. The hotel arranged for me airport pick up and drop off and they were perfectly on time, every time. All staff without exception go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Every time I requested something, I was greeted with a wonderful smile. This place is the best example of Kenyan hospitality. However, it feels like the hotel has invested so much on maintaining the beautiful grounds and golf course that they completely forgot about the rooms. My room was not great and I tried to avoid being there during the day as I could work bette and concentrate in any of the many spaces of the hotel. The floor feels like it is about to collapse underneath you. I feel sorry for those on the floor below because every time I took a step, the whole room creaked. The bathroom needed new faucets and a new toilet. Everything was rusty and I felt the pipes were going to give up at any time. To flush I had to do something weird to the handle that felt like pumping the toilet so it would have enough pressure to flush. The shower was clogged and although water pressure in the shower was great, I always tried to shower quickly so it would not overflow. I had a hair dryer whose cable was visibly burnt so I didn’t dare use it. The furniture in the rest of the room was either broken or looking flimsy. I had to unplug the TV because it didn’t work but it kept a white screen on even when I turned it off. Maybe I was unlucky but my room looked like it had not been maintained in years and it is a shame that such a beautiful place does not invest in upgrading the rooms. The bed was comfortable and clean. The outlets were very old an

I slept in 2 nights at the hotel. I loved and appreciated the Victorian settings and lush well maintained grounds. The staff are warm and accomodating with an array of meals and snacks being provided during the day. You made the hotel transfers to and from the airport very smooth, thank you. I am unfortunately rating it a 4/5 because of a non-working wifi connectivity. I hope to be back soon.

Spending a weekend at Windsor Hotel was a most memorable experience for myself, my wife and our friends - two couples. We received exemplary services from all staff members. We were received with a bottle of wine and a gift hamper. The meals were delicious and they have a world class menu. The accommodation facilities were amazing and the environment very serene and clean. The jogging lane made our morning jog a breeze, with birds tunes filling the air. We loved it here at Windsor Hotel. Looking forward for another visit with my entire family. Thank you Windsor!

At the recommendation of my friend who is a Nairobi native, I reserved my family's Nairobi stay at the Windsor. We could not have asked for a better experience. I began making contact with the GM (Lemmy) and Front Office Manager (Steven) in early March to make arrangements. They were prompt in response to all of my inquiries and the registration process was very smooth. We arrived early on a Sunday morning and had a driver from the hotel awaiting us. They allowed us a very early check-in and the accomodation was amazing. It was nice arrive at our place and see monkeys running around the beautiful landscape. We explored the premises and encountered the welcoming staff at each point. Staff were friendly, attentive, and accomodating to any request that we made. All service was great and the food was delicious. We checked out after two nights to visit the Maasai Mara for a few days and would return to Nairobi for two more nights at the end of the trip. Windsor allowed us to leave our belongings in the same room that we did not want to travel with. Everything inside and outside was well-kept and clean. Besides a few mosquito bites on our sons there are no complaints haha. I would love to return to this establishment whenever I get a chance to visit Nairobi again (hopefully sooner rather than later - fingers crossed).

When we checked in the WC was filthy and some lights in the room weren't working. The room was uncomfortably hot at night and there is no air circulation possible. We couldn't open the French window because a marquee had been set up just a few metres outside it totally blocking the view, and because of the mosquitoes. The wi-fi service was iffy and often wasn't available in the room. The setting is beautiful so it is a pity that the stay has to be so uncomfortable. You get the unfortunate feeling that the management doesn't care because some things like a pedestal fan are easy to install. Similarly it doesn't take much to make sure the bathroom isn't yucky or that the lights are working.

I am writing a very mixed review on Windsor and honestly I hope that ownership reads this as the issues really have more to do with investment in the hotel rather that what staff can control. In a nutshell, Windsor needs major reinvestment or the owners should sell it and let the purchasers do it. It is currently teetering on the "3" mark in my opinion, but could easily be a 4-5 star property with appropriate action. On the other hand, they are sliding towards a very low ranking as things stand now. The location and uniqueness of the place is terrific. We played golf and loved the course and especially the caddies. The hotel staff were so friendly and outgoing that you felt bad for them when they had to repeatedly come to the table, at every meal, and explain that they were out of whatever we had ordered. My last night there I had to order three times until they had something in stock on the menu. Any chef who knows what she or he is doing will line up the servers before a meal and go over the specials of the day and also what items are "86'ed"...meaning they don't have. Not so at Windsor. We had a two bedroom cottage on the golf course which could easily fetch $800+US at a high-end property. Instead the place had old shabby furniture and drapes, a TV in the living room that wasn't even hooked up, a coffee pot but they forgot all of the coffee and tea to go with it and no lights...the living room literally had no floor or table lights, so you couldn't even use it at night. The room service menus were so old that the hotel attendant had no idea what we were talking about when we called to place orders. Again, I want to note how nice the staff were and what a spectacular setting this hotel lies within. I just hope that ownership will get their act together and decide to get serious or get out of the business. This place is a real gem that with investment, could quickly shine again.

I recently participated in a five-day conference at this hotel. The grounds cannot be beat for a multi-day conference, as there is plenty of space and the setting is beautiful. The food on offer for lunch and dinner is pretty good as well. Staff were top notch professionals and very accommodating to most of our requests. The room I stayed in was spacious, clean and quiet. The hotel needs to invest in new conference technology, like microphones and screens, as both had challenges that were not resolved during the conference. Regarding room service, the hotel should update its menu to reflect a more contemporary clientele by having a few inspired plant-based options (some options are on the menu, but are actually not available). The same goes for snacks during tea breaks.

The rooms - were not clean, thinly veiled mattress, you could feel the springs on the bed, very uncomfortable, INTERNET was down, FOOD especially dinner was always OVER, so we would miss out, on food. Such a sour experience. Customer service, horrible. The golf course, the gym and the pool - amazing. I wish more effort could be put in the rooms and food as well. sigh!

A gem of a discovery!! We need to spend a certain amount of time outside South Africa prior to moving on to UAE and chose Nairobi - a friend of a friend recommended the Windsor Golf Resort and what a recommendation it was!!! The team, led by Lemmy, provide unrivaled client focus. Steve and Chris will ensure your stay meets your needs - and Robert brings a whole new meaning to culinary facilitation; he is a star! For golfers - the course is challenging yet enjoyable. For non-golfers - the grounds have marked cycling and walking trails through the lush Kenyan forest. We have extended our stay already and we will, absolutely, be coming back!!! Thanks Lemmy!
