My boyfriend and I stayed in "Lion" hut here for a couple of nights between other trips. It was so peaceful and beautiful we mostly just stayed in the compound, having drinks on our patio overlooking Nairobi national park and basking in the quiet so close to the hecticness of central Nairobi. The staff were amazing and helped us with all our questions including sorting laundry (free!) and we went for a lovely evening walk in the lane outside the hotel, which runs alongside the national park (even saw a gazelle grazing by the path!). The only downside was nothing to do with the property - we ordered in food from a restaurant nearby which delivers for free and twice got slight food poisoning so I question the hygiene standards! - I'd recommend going to the nearby Masai lodge instead which had great food!…
We had an amazing time working with Peer to organise our trip to Nairobi! little did we know this place that was recommended was going to be a little oasis in a bustling and overwhelming city! we were right on the edge of the Safari park and could see animals from the watch towere and from the beautifully landscaped gardens. On entering through the beautiful gates we were struck by how beautiful and colourful the landscaped gardens were. So peaceful. We would have breakfast and evening drinks at a little table in a serene setting looking across the pool to the animals wondering in the park. There were often monkeys in the tress near us! peer was amazing in organizing our time and so accommodating! we were met by Chalo who responded with our every need with sure! It is so comforting to have someone who knows everything and can plan everything we needed from organizing drivers to safari to helping us from our lost credit card in town! What can we say about our driver Bernard! I have never met someone who is so joyful and friendly! he truly knows everyone in Nairobi and because of this we felt completely safe!! He took us everywhere and was so cheerful no matter how long we were out and no matter how bumpy the roads were! such a treasure! David our safari guide needs to write a book or produce some youtube videos as his knowledge and passion for the wild life was phenomenal!! I cannot believe how much i have learnt and how patient he was with all my questions! Katherine cooked us a delicious meal one night! Our littel thatched roof cottage was very comfortable and we had use of our own kitchen. we also had adaptors we could use for charging! nice touch!I cannot recommend this place enough!…
Hired all the little cottages with lovely wooden name plaques of various wildlife, for a family with 2 children and friends it was lovely to have the pool to ourselves overlooking the National Park, hearing the roar of the lions and seeing the giraffe walking about, own individual sleeping rooms and a shared kitchen/dining room worked very well for us, beautiful gardens and grounds
This a really special place, for Nairobi. The place and the cottages, looking like Italian Trolley houses, is quite a charming place. A pleasant place to stay for a night or two. You can easily enjoy the pool, the garden and the nice cottages. The place has a good cock and she can shop fresh food and make a dinner at your choice. At your own expense, ofcourse! Self service rooms/cottages with a full kitchen for you to use. From the deck and the swimmingpool you enjoy the view of Nairobi Park, and watch quite a lot of different of animals. Ie. buffalos, antilopes, sometimes Rhinos, zebras and several other wild animals. The cottages are comfortly with moscito n4ets by the bed and large bathroom; at least the one we had. A nice retreat close to Nairobi airport. Approx 45 min from the airport, regarding traffic of course. Pleasant Danish owners taking good care of the place ! …
This beautiful B&B looks out over Nairobi National Park. It is picturesque, welcoming and small (5 cottages) - so we got very personalized service. Animals! From our terrace we could see black rhinos, buffalo, hartebeests, impalas, warthogs, monkeys, ostriches, zebras, lizards and lots of cool birds. We heard hyenas calling at night. Food! We had a well-stocked kitchen including a nice bottle of wine), and the driver helped get what we lacked. We had Katherine Cook for us every night, which ended our days perfectly. Attention! Chalo saw to all our needs. In our 5 days here, we got laundry done 3 times. Bernard drove us on shorter outings, and David (very knowledgeable) took us on a game drive and to Lake Naivasha. Highly recommend!
Four of us recently stayed at Nyati Hill Cottages over the last 5 days. We love this place! The staff were so attentive to everything we asked for, they arranged excursions and transportation, and we really loved the backyard view of Nairobi National Park, and saw many Impalas, Buffalo, Warthogs, Hartebeest, and too many birds to count. And the pool was always ready to jump in after a dusty day on the safari drive. Also, they provide a wonderful cook as needed to ensure you can relax here and enjoy the place.
Stay exclusive and with view to wild nature. For 2 weeks we had base at Nyati Hill Cottages. It is a little pearl with 7 African huts with modern devices, placed in beautiful, calm and quiet surroundings and with Nairobi National Park as neighbor. Here we could sit under the sunshade and look at the wild animals as antelopes, giraffes, warthogs and buffaloes. We enjoyed to swim in the charming pool, to investigate the local area or relax under the huge sunshades. Wonderful that there were no television (but good working Wi-Fi). That made it possible for us to be present in the moment and meet us into the local sounds and moods. The kind and helpful staff members had arranged us to be picked up in the airport. They helped us to get in contact with David, the experienced safari man, who arranged trips for us to Amboseli and Lake Nakuru, catching us at Nyati Hill and was our pleasant tour leader who with great skills found the exciting wild animals. We only have praise for Nyati Hill. Arne E. Joergensen.…
Stayed here for two nights while we had a layover in Kenya. We were the only folks in the entire place which was kind of nice but it was also a bit weird. The grounds were beautiful but unfortunately it was too cold to swim. We were given a room which had the kitchen in a separate hut which was nice because we had more space but wasn’t so great because we had to get completely dressed to get something to eat. Breakfast ingredients were included and in the kitchen for you to make your own food. We also had our laundry washed for us which was nice. My only complaint was that the shower had very little hot water and nearly zero water pressure. We hired the hotel’s driver to and from the airport and for the tour day and confirmed prices with the owners before booking the hotel. Hiring the guy really was great with our limited time and we were able to see the elephant orphanage, the giraffe center and the Karen Blixen museum. He was very nice but tried to charge us double what we were quoted and when we called him out on it, he backed down quickly and told us that the prices “just changed, but he’d honor the old ones”. I wonder how many other people fall for that….…
This place was a pleasure to stay at our last days in Kenya. Rooms where really nice and big, some even have their own kitchens in them. Shower pressure was somewhat bad (still manageable thought) but that's really the only negative thing i can say about this place. The service at this place was beyond what i could imagine from a place that is not a major hotel franchise/chain that charges 800$+ per night. Where ever we wanted to go they organized for cars to get us there, if we wanted to eat on the premises they organized for food to arrive to us. What ever we wanted to do they organized for it, what ever we wanted to get to us they organized for it to arrive. Always on time and never unhappy about changes that occurred on our part during the way. A big thanks to the onsite manager Chalo who was a super star which proved with his saying "Anything is possible at Nyati Hill, Communication is Key"…
Nyati Hill Cottages are a hidden gem on the edge of the Nairobi National Park. Quiet, excellently maintained and much needed after 28 days of safari tent living. Nothing has been too much trouble for the owners & caretaker, from organising a fabulous game drive, dinner delivery from a local restaurant, elephant orphanage trip and airport transfers. Relaxing by the pool watching gazelles and buffalo on the ridge of the park is the best way to unwind before the reality of heading back to 'normality'. Highly recommended. I will hopefully be returning
