We were the only non-Chinese people at the hotel. All of the Kenyan staff, except for 1, were great. We had 2 adjoining rooms and they were ok. They were stingy with water in the rooms. Rooms were clean. I had an issue with Joseph in the restaurant when I went to have one of the"Happy Hour" drinks that they... More

Me and the Mrs spent 4 nights in Eastland Hotel for two 2 night stop overs between Nairobi and Masai Mara. We decided to check out the city, just because. We had a room booked elsewhere but chose this hotel because of the in-house casino which most hotels don't provide - we love a bit of a gamble! Rooms are... More

Having lived in China, I find it extremely difficult to find a restaurant, which would serve authentic Chinese food. No, there is no shortage of Chinese restaurants in Nairobi. It is that very, very few serve genuine Chinese food. Restaurant at Eastland Hotel is one of those precious few. We ordered a lot for a couple... Shredded pork with pickled... More

This hotel is disappointing, rooms are old, noisy, cleaning leaves to much to be desired. The restaurant is 100% Chinese food, instructions, signs and anything is in Chinese. Get ready to eat spring rolls and rice at breakfast

Dear JMVL. It is clear your stay with us was not to your expectations and I am sorry for this. Its also unfortunate that the room you stayed was not cleaned to standard as you have indicated, how ever the rooms are not old as generally the hotel is not old itself as we just celebrated out 3rd year in... Stayed at Eastland's a couple of times over the past 2 years when the usual hotel has been full. To be honest its a strange looking place and rather soulless but the staff are helpful and the standard of rooms are fine. Good working internet, free slippers and toothbrushes! Also a good selection of teas in the rooms. It is... More

This hotel is a mix of quality service, small rooms that show aged accommodations. It caters to Chinese guests because it is owned by Chinese people. Subsequently people from China would feel quite comfortable. The service by locals in the restaurant is excellent. The food is relatively good. They serve some variety. They use buffet or ala carte. Security is... More

I stayed here for two nights (Sunday and Friday) in July 2015. The overall impression is a good, clean and well-functioning establishment. Check-in and check-out happened without a glitch. The staff are friendly and responsive. The hotel has a restaurant with an extensive Chinese menu where I ate twice, and in both instances the food was really tasty. The service... More

Title says it all. To think that this dump advertises itself as a "4-star" and a "business" hotel must be some kind of practical joke. From the ridiculous unprofessional check-in (took 3 different rooms and almost an hour), to the carpets that reek of filth and desperation, to WiFi that sometimes works, lukewarm water that drips from showers that quite... I stayed here for 3 nights in 2015. Compared to many other Nairobi hotels which rank themselves 3.5*s I would rank this among the best. The greatest strengths lie in location, room size, quietness in the rooms, working elevators and a variety of well laid out breakfast. Water was always hot when needed. Granted, it could do with some renovations... More
