To acclimate to the time change and as an intro to Kenya, at least a couple nights in Nairobi is worth it. Tamarind Tree is a very convenient location, near Wilson Airport, and attached to the restaurant Carnivore - which is kind of a must. The room was clean and well appointed but what made the stay was the staff and the hotel’s commitment to safety during a pandemic. Warm greetings and service were the standard. The breakfast buffet was full of options and served by the lovely staff. Unseasonal rains kept us from enjoying the pool but it was still cleaned each morning. WHEN I come back, you’ll find me here.

Dear KJElmer. Greetings from Tamarind Tree Hotel, Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and 5 star rating . It is very evident that your overall stay with us was great . The management appreciates every effort put in by every member of staff who ensure they offer warm greetings and services to our valuable guests. During these times of pandemic we are working closely with the MOH guidelines to ensure hygiene levels are maintained . We have noted that due to the rains you never enjoyed our swimming pool during your stay with us that's why we want you back soon if not sooner to have you enjoy our swimming pool luxuries. Stay safe and see you soon. With Kind Regards, Irene Mutuku, Front Office Manager. +254 (0)709240000)

The airport pick up had a bottle of water, the staff were always cheerful and happy to help. The internet kept going on and off, but the pork ribs in the evening compensated for that. I'll definitely stay again.

Piece of advice, ask for room with swimming pool view. It's quite splendid

Thanks Tamarind

We stay a total of 3 nights , 9 days apart.
Whilst the hotel is comfortable and new, it is isolated with no where to walk to but it is close to Wilson and Karen.
We thought the Breakfast and Dinner were expensive (£24 each pp)with limited choice and not the best quality .
On our first morning we arrived for breakfast at 8.45 , despite serving till 10 and they had already ran out of items. Later at dinner, the same fresh fruit was still there.
On our final night , instead of dinner we brought 2 day old sandwiches at £5 each and drinks from the cafe.
On our return visit , for one night ,our room had the fridge missing- 3 times we asked for one - it took nearly 3 hours for them to bring one and then another 2 hours for our drinks to get cold. There was no apology .
Apart from the above we found the hotel very clean and the staff pleasant.
I would have given 3* , but having a missing fridge was totally unacceptable.

I had no idea this hotel existed until I attended a meeting hosted there. I was pleasantly surprised to see a newly built hotel near the Carnivore grounds. Its been a while since I was in this side of town. I love the hotel, check in security was flawless. I like the uniforms - funky black with these loud color streaks...The staff were warm and amazing and professional. My room was really nice and quiet (you do not realise how valuable silence is) - I had a cool view of landing and taking off planes at Wilson airport but even that did not have disruptive noise.

The meeting room was well light and led out to the pool/gardeny restaurant space. I did not sample the pool but it looked delicious. Loved the food and the chefs were super cool...one breakfast I got myself some madafu as the meal had a Swahili theme. That was nice!

So I love this place for small meetings and it seems like a lovely get away place in the outskirts of the city. I most definitely recommend it...pretty close to the Wilson Airport so if your flight is there it totally makes sense!

The place is warm with a modern chic feel, exudes a feeling of fun and liveliness. I liked the theme and the casual feel uniforms the staff have.

Could improve on service delivery, after being welcomed and given the menu by the hostess, it took long like about 20mins before my order was taken. And another close to the same time before being delivered.

Could engage the customer more, like just checking on them and assuring them its almost.

I would also recommend simple compact hairstyles tied at the back for the service team to prevent hair from accidentally getting into the guest's food.

The place is close to the main road, Lang'ata, very accessible, and also close to the wilson airport.

The dining room is well partioned, to offer family and more private area or group areas.

Had a pleasant evening, served by Terry at the restaurant.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel recently for one night before we began our Safari. We were very happy with everything, the rooms are large and very comfortable, comfy clean beds and bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Didnt have time to use the pool but the grounds ane the eating area are pristine. We had a bar snacky supper in the evening along with a couple of cocktails, thats all we could eat but it was very tasty and had we been more hungry we would have eaten off the main menu,or had an experience at the nearby Carnivore restaurant. We were very impressed with breakfast the following morning, everything was set and and displayed very nicely and lots of different dishes to choose from. Would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood towards the outskirts of the city.
It is the perfect place to go to when one is looking for calmness and tranquility but still desires speedy access to the city or the national park.
The rooms are quite spacious, very secure with minimum noise interference, good for relaxing and secluded privacy.
The breakfast menu has a variety of options for all sorts of tastes and preferences.

Located close to Wilson Airport and Carnivore restaurant, this was my first stay here. I had returned from the Mara and was headed to Amboseli, so I needed to overnight in Nairobi. The hotel was very nice. Staff were extremely helpful. Safe practices of spraying bags, hand sanitizer and masks were everywhere.

The room is quite large and has a comfortable bed. Mine overlooked a very large pool and outdoor tables to dine at. Wi fi is free and very fast. They have complimentary coffee and tea in the room. Shower was great once I figured out the dial direction.

I decided to relax in the room rather than go to the dining area. I ordered room service for my lunch/dinner. They add a $5 service charge for that. I had a fantastic cheeseburger (called the Cheezy Dribbler) complete with a lot of vegetables, generous amount of French fries and a cold coke. Total charge was $16.95 (including the service charge). Food service arrived within 20 minutes.

Breakfast was included with the room starting at 6:30am. The chef will prepare your eggs how you wish. There is an assortment of fruits (pre packaged), cereals, yogurt, sausage and bacon and pastries. Food was very tasty.

Stayed here both before and after our week’s safari. Spacious room, well desisgned. There is a dividing wall with cupboards and shelves on the bedroom side. It splits off an alcove with separate stalls for shower (with 2 shower heads and plenty of hot water) and toilet. Handbasin at the end, with loads of shelving around it. Towel rails with plenty of towels in various sizes; hairdryer. Good beds / mattresses and various pillows. Seating and desk area. Plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Very good wifi, especially in the room.

You have several options: 1, you can let the Hotel pick you from the Airport, which, I am sure they'd be happy to do; or 2, you can use Uber or other Airport services means that are very much available. You need to use the officially recognised means of transport to avoid a possible conmen trap.
