In one word —- TERRIBLE. The worst hotel I have ever stayed. The Restaurant isn’t a restaurant it’s a hall, there is an instant smell of mould and dam smell, the food is unbelievable no taste and expensive. The room is just ‘okay’, bed is comfortable but on my sheets I found blood stain…. Unacceptable. Local Staff are pleasant and have the same opinion of the hotel as the customer. They try to make the hotel bearable and hospitality is not bad. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything including the 0500 wake up call from the room next door obviously having something to celebrate or breakfast news. Definitely not what was expecting from a Chinese original brand to a fake Swiss, only thing that is Swiss is the word Swiss everything else very poor standard.
Best service ever. Friendly staff and very welcoming. Safe area, clean and very nice breakfast which is made for you as like it personally. The staffs are very nice people. They do everything you would like you'd ask. ASAP! Thanks to all staff working there from the guards to chefs to the receptionist. Especially receptionist Ann and others who are working at night. I will book this hotel every time I'm going to be visiting Nairobi and also the hotel is very safe for your valuable staffs. there's a safe at the room but your other bigger stafs like laptobs are also safe Thanks, Ann and Others that work mostly at night. You guys made my vacation unforgettable.
Been here twice this year and the one constant good feature is the friendly staff. That said, everything else is a disappointment. The restaurant is pathetice and right next to the washrooms. I mean? The bar is averagely well stocked but like many Kenyan bars, the staff do not know their alcohol well and the cocktails suck. The rooms are clean and comfortable with good views either side you on. It is a fairly priced establishment though, so maybe we are just expecting too much from them🤡
Clean and comfortable rooms, helpful staff and nice decor but the amenities advertised were disappointing. The rooftop "pool" was a tiled rectangle filled with water and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks; the "gym" was a room with some rusty treadmills, bikes and clanky dumbbells (only good thing was the massage chair). The food was disappointing too, I enjoy Chinese food but this was greasy and had obviously been sitting around a while. The choice for breakfast was okay. Good night's sleep although the walls were thin and there was a door connecting us to the adjacent room so we could hear their conversation... Decent price but wouldn't stay again
Swiss Lenana is a good hotel with affordable rates. Rooms were clean and big, staff was friendly, especially the guy at the entrance. The breakfast was ok, could have had a bigger variety. The restaurant was also ok, but nothing special. JUst the cocktails were not really good. Seemed like the bartender had some problems with the mixing of the ingerdients ....
There are good and bad with all hotels you stay and I try to be a realist and not a stuck up American. But I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff from the moment I walked in it felt like family. They made my birthday so special they trick me into coming down stairs and the whole staff was there with a cake singing me happy birthday what other hotel would do that ? Lol thanks .. Now about the hotel are room was very beautiful and clean all the time there is no Ac which is weird cause it’s Africa but then again it wasn’t that hot in my room. Now yes the food is off but Chinese food beats African food hands-down so it worked. I’m a real fit guy and the gym was disappointing and the pool was closed but the build was peaceful I would no doubt stay there again.. if your a traveler you have to check out my IG ace_of_spades1 I have great travel tips thanks you an again thank you Swiss hotel…
Start with positives. Rooms were clean. Staff friendly. Wifi good. Good location. Negatives. Terrible restaurant. Slow service and way over priced. KSh200 for a coke. 1 hour wait for a pizza. Breakfast buffet not targetted at European guests. Probably excellent for Chinese guests. Management policy is that guest may not sign to have meals or drinks added to their hotel bill. Very inconvenient. Television channel selection ridiculously limited. Have not improved since my previous visits despite assurances that this would be addressed. Walls very thin. Not fun listening to whatever your neighbours are up to. My room had no closet at all so unable to unpack for the duration of my stay Sad to say i won't be staying again.
Rooms were comfortable. Pillos on the bed were hard and made for an uncomfortable night. The room had no aircon which was acceptable as the weather was coolish. Would be a different story in the heat. The shower had very luke warm water. I think a communal geyser so its first come first served. As to the " restaurant". A great deal of improvement needed here. Breakfasts were just about acceptable. No eggs on 1 morning. Never saw a tomato. Bacon available intermittently. So all in all for the european guest not great. The menu for dinners was overpriced and the meals average at best. I would recommend guests eat out if at all possible. The service for lunch and dinner was incredibly slow. The quickest meal i got took 45 minutes so don't pop in for a quick bite. An annoyance that i had resolved was that guests need permission to sign for meals and charge to the room. Continually having to whip out cash or card when you have a meal or drink is inconvenient. Despite being promised that come zero would be in stock by my second day at the hotel there were still none in stock whilst i write this review 5 days later. So water it is. Wifi was good and that's a major plus. Staff were very good on the front desk. Floor management was attentive . Wait staff in the kitchen tried hard but difficult for them with such a slow kitchen. I will.probably stay again but hope its improved by then. …
Stayed two nights in this hotel in a standard room with king sized bed. Room was very clean and comfortable and I had a good sleep. Breakfast buffet was primarily for a Chinese palate, dinner menu is western and Chinese, don't think there was local cuisine on the menu. The only complaint I had is that there was no convenient currency exchange on site. I had only just arrived in Kenya and had many plans for the day. I expect that a big hotel like this should be able to provide exchange service at 7 am or 6pm during the times when I am at the hotel, but actually this service is only available from 8:30 am to 5:30 PM, or something like that. The staff had no suggestions on what I should do, but I place the blame squarely on management's shoulders.
Had a group dinner at the Restaurant on the roof top. The food was nothing to write home about. The service was slow and disappointing. Apart from the view, there is nothing really outstanding about this restaurant. The toilet was some sort of makeshift structure, with very poor lighting. The name is rather misleading. Although it is named Swiss, the amenities seem to be all Chinese. Accessing the rooftop restaurant is a bit like going through a maze, with different lifts, and stairs etc. Other than its proximity to the city centre, I would not recommend it for much else.
